Who will be next? Today at about 6pm i drove out of 1utama and went past centrepoint in Bandar utama. As the trafic light was red, i stopped. Just then a motorcycle with 2 guys rode past my car and looked inside. 2 seconds later, a 2nd motorbike smashed my passenger side window and grabbed my handbag that was on the car seat (or could be on the car floor but he stretched, i really cant remember). Everything happened so quickly that i was still in a state of shocked when the 2 motorcyclists quickly rode away and i couldn't do anything cos there were cars in front of me. I straight away drove in to the police station in front of me to report my case.
Police station right in front and the thieves weren't even afraid. When i reported police, i was told that there were alot of cases such as these after and before raya.. So im sure you've heard of ppl warning to keep your car doors locked and to always place your handbag underneath your seat. But also be extra careful cos they could tailgate you home or just point a knife at you even when you're being extra careful.
The sad thing is, there's nothing much we can do. Being extra cautious is one thing, but living in fear isn't exactly my ideal state of living. The cops have said they have undercover cops planted at the traffic lights near 1utama, Taman Tun, Kota Dsara etc to watch out for these motorcyclists. They wont target the 1st of 2nd car from the traffic lights but instead the 3rd or 4th cos there's no way you could chase them.
Somehow i feel lucky given the scenario that i was unhurt and my handphone and purse weren't in my handbag. But they managed to steal my ipad (which has a password although they may hack into it) and sets of keys. Another motorcyclist that saw the incident reported that those motorcyclists that robbed me were seen roaming around Tropicana right after (possibly looking for another victim given they did not manage to get my purse).
So people, please becareful. Be aware and never take for granted that these things would never happen to you. Have a safe day!
