Let's conclude this up with the slow mo video on what happened this morning during the Men's 5,000m Final at Perak All Comers Open 2017.
To: Edan Syah and Jolene Hong
Attachment below is the most clearer version of finishing video I can get from my friend. The slow mo video will be on my next post after this post as fb post only allow me to share a video in a post.
From the slowmo video, can clearly see that Edan's right elbow raised up and did knocked on me to the side when we crossing the line. First thing first I would like to say that, if some one knocked on you while running at the finishing line, I believe he knew that he did knocked on you and should come and appologize to you, but in this case, he did not appologize to me at all.
From his comment on my post, which brought up by his manager Jolene, saying that he met me after the event, even took photos..... with me. What I gonna said is that "let say you got knocked by someone whether it is intentionally or accidentally, are you going to ask the person: "did you knocked on me just now?". What if the person said no. Then what you going to reply next: erm... That's the reason I did not talk to you even during the prize giving and photo session as I want to have evidence first then only I will approach you to find out. By the way, logically the person who did knocked on you I believe he must have know that he knocked on you whether it is intentionally or not. He must come and approach you and at least said a sorry.
I think it is my bad as I straight away posted on social media saying this "second runner pushed me to the back when I was about to overtake him and make me 3rd placing at the end. No Sportsmanship at all." But he did not come and say at least a sorry, which made me so angry at all as you would like to win, please win it in a gentleman way. Don't knocked on others by raising up your elbow at the end.
Replying on his second paragragh comment, "he is saying during the last 150m, I was already in front you and you came from the back. What do you expect during the track race?" What I gonna said is that as long as you have not cross the line, I still have the chance to overtake you. That's what I am gonna expect seriously or should I expect I am gonna stay behind and let you win? No way right? Second sentences saying that "I believed you have more experience racing on the track and know how to overtake other runners. Don't make an excuse that I kicked you or pushed you or even touched you when the track is big to overtake from the right?" But what happened is that it is in the last 5 - 10m of the race as you can see it from the video, I would like to ask: do you think I am able to overtake you by using that split seconds running to lane 8 and overtake you as I was coming all the way from behind plus if you said both of us too close to each other, why my hand, or elbow did not able to hit you and at the end you hit me with your elbow. If it is 50m away and we were neck to neck, I will definitely won't stay close to you. He also said that "they were more than 5 officials at the finishing line and if you think they are wrong you should have directly talked to all to clear this matter there and then." I did talk to them actually in the beginning regarding the timing of me in 5,000m on the previous post, but they ask me to bring my manager or coach to make an enquiry. I went alone to the secretariat and talk to one of the officer about it and that officer did listen to me and help me investigate about the time.
About his third paragraph comment, you guys can read from the comment I replied to him.
Here you go the video you looking for. Please admit that you did raise your elbow to knock on me at the end of the race and make an official apology to me. Also thanks for calling me after you saw my post, but too bad you did not answer my question when I ask about it. With the video, I don't think I am creating any misunderstanding in the Malaysian Running Community as this video did show you knocked on me by raising your elbow at the end and the worst thing is that you didn't admit that and I believe you know that you did it.
But at the end, I do not have any intention to upset anybody and I apologise if I did. I will keep on training harder and strike for the sub 16 still. Thanks for all the support and especially to Jensen Lee for the video.
Best Regards,
Wai Ching.
