Hi everyone,
We are so exited to enter the second round of an online band competition hosted by GUESTHOUSE - Bandzai : The Ultimate Battle of the Bands.

The final winner of the competition will be offered €10000 prize and three days of free recording sessions at the world-renowned Parr Street Studios (where Coldplay, Blossoms, and Rihanna have recorded their albums at), and will also feature in scotts Menswear’s XMASLIVE campaign!!

Although we’ve never thought about getting closer to winning the prize, now we are actually not that far from the goal! All we need is YOUR HELP!

The second round is an online voting competition, all 100 bands are divided into 10 groups. Each group will be opened for voting for 24 hours. The two bands with the most vote of each group will be entering the next round. We are in GROUP 5. The voting time will start from Saturday 10:00 May 15th in UK, which is Saturday 17:00 May 15th to 16:59 May 16th in Taiwan!

I’m pretty sure I have a little guy that lives inside of me that has “music” as his blood type and wishes he could play all the instruments and form a one man band, too bad this body of mine is late in discovering this and so he just plays music in my head. Been trying to bring this little guy alive by learning drums, seems it’s not enough for him, he seems to be hungry for something more. He’s making me browse non-stop on launch pads, Ableton Push, tutorials, how to use this etc.... this little guy is not easy to please...don’t ask me why it’s a guy not a girl, it’s definitely a guy.

" Today I’m going to tell you about one of the biggest, oldest traditional festival and has the widest popular range in Vietnam, which is Tet Holiday.

Tet marks (=celebrates) the arrival of spring and is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture and it has the date falling in (which falls in) = takes place around late January or early February according to the Lunar Calendar.

Tết is also an occasion for family reunions. When Tet comes around the corner, most Vietnamese people return to their families to visit their family members, to worship at the family altar or visit the graves of their ancestors in their homeland as a sign of respect.

Many Vietnamese people prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday food which includes giò, xôi, canh măng anh banh chung - an indispensable (= absolutely necessary) dish that is tightly packed sticky with meat and mung beans filling, wrapped in banana leaves.

Traditionally, every household is decorated by yellow apricot blossoms (hoa mai) in the central and the southern parts of Vietnam; or peach blossoms (hoa đào) in the northern part.

Many customs are practiced around Tet. Children often receive a red envelope containing money from their elders after giving them traditional Tet greetings. During Tet days people also visit relatives and friends to wish them all a happy new year. Local pagodas are popular spots as well, as people go there to wish for a better year to come for their families.

Tet holiday is the only occasion that people that people start forgetting about the troubles of the past year and hope for a better upcoming year. "

Crescent Lament / 恆月三途 的歌曲 -「殘香」，收錄在2015年的專輯【花殤】中。

如同那年代許多台灣藝妲的共同宿命，一份平凡的親情跟愛情，對大稻埕藝妲阿香來說，也都是難以想像的奢求。當母親松子因婚姻不被父母接受而被送回日本、當戀人明風因戰爭肆虐而遲遲無法歸來，阿香只能面對無盡的大海，以曲寄思、以詩寄情，期待大海能將自己的思念，傳達到海的彼端。

「那海啊，帶走阮愛的兩個人…」，道出了台灣藝妲、甚至1940~1950年代台灣人民，那份人生不由己的無奈；而「夢斷憑欄淚沾襟，舉杯敬月，笑阮恐成空」，卻也展現出，阿香害怕此情被辜負的矛盾心情。

" Flavor of Emptiness " is included in Crescent Lament's 2015 album "Elegy for the Blossoms".

"Elegy for the Blossoms" is the second album of the Taiwanese gothic metal band Crescent Lament, released in June 2015, which recounts the sorrowful story of a Taiwanese geisha, A-hiong, that happened in the late Japanese period and early Chinese Nationalist Party period in Taiwan’s history.

Just like most Taiwanese geishas, A-hiong came from a broken family. After her mother left and her father died, she has been longing for a shelter that could console and comfort her. Bîng-hong’s appearance lighted up her life. But as the war kept them separated, her hope kept fading away.

In “Flavor of Emptiness”, A-hiong yearned for reunion with her mother and lover, and wished the wind could carry her feelings across the ocean.

從2007/02/28成立至今，Crescent Lament 恆月三途正式走過十個年頭。感謝一路陪伴的各個夥伴與聽眾，也感謝無數貴人的相助，我們幸運的在音樂的道路上，一直向前行。

身為台灣本土的樂團，我們想要將台灣的故事傳唱下去；在歷經2008年的兩張EP & 2011年的首張專輯 “Behind the Lethal Deceit / 末路之召”，我們逐漸摸索出明確的定位，以成為台語歌德/民謠金屬樂團為目標，並於2015年發行了第二張專輯 “花殤 / Elegy for the Blossoms”。在今年啟動的第三張專輯計畫中，我們將繼續以台灣歷史文化為主軸，唱阮台灣人的歌。

在歷經大大小小的表演後，我們在成軍的第十年 – 2016年，踏上了比利時音樂祭Metal Female Voices Fest的舞台。在這個歐洲的大舞台上，我們用台語歌唱著台灣藝妲的故事，用台灣藝妲的故事感動著不同文化的聽眾。是的，在滿場熱情的歐洲聽眾前，我們以身為台灣樂團感到無比光榮！

接下來，我們會繼續承接這個責任，繼續向前邁進。

Crescent Lament’s “10th Anniversary Documentary” is a visual review recording the most exciting moments we experienced in the past 10 years. Thanks to all friends and fans, without your support and encouragement, we wouldn’t be able to have so many beautiful memories.

As an indigenous band of Taiwan, our creations are greatly inspired by Taiwan’s history and culture, both musically and lyrically. After releasing 2 EPs in 2008 and debut album “Behind the Lethal Deceit” in 2011, we began to integrate traditional Taiwanese instruments with metal music. The result was “Elegy for the Blossoms” (2015), a conceptual album recounting the story of Taiwanese geisha in ancient Taiwan. Such a gothic/folk metal style will remain the principal theme in our future creations.

It is always a huge pleasure and honor to attend a gig or a festival. Through these domestic and foreign performances, we are deeply touched by the genuine enthusiasm from the audience. Here, we must show our immense gratitude to each organizers/staff of performance, cooperative band, photographer/videographer, and audience. Among those unforgettable performances we've attended, the Belgian festival "Metal Female Voices Fest" in October of 2016 is particularly worth mentioning. It was truly an amazing experience to play our Taiwanese-style songs on a famous European stage. We saw joy on people's faces, and were deeply flattered by their passions. It was a memorable milestone to celebrate the 10th year of Crescent Lament. Many thanks to Helcanen Val and everyone of MFVF to create this beautiful memory with us!

The journey of Crescent Lament will be continued.
