Milton Goh was born in Singapore in 1993. Currently at the age of 28 years old, Milton is a Christian Parenting Blogger, and a Christian Author who is also a full-time dad to an adorable 5 year old girl, Maeleth Sarah Goh.

Grow Physically Strong Through Faith

“As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were. Besides hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, “So will your offspring be.” Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.” (Romans‬ ‭4:17-21‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Our God is the Almighty One who gives life to the dead.

At the age of hundred, Abraham was already old and weak. However, he never forgot what God had promised to him that night when He led him out to number the stars in the sky. That vision and longing remained in his heart, even though most people would have given up, saying that it was impossible.

In the passage above, the Holy Spirit drew my attention to Abraham having faith, hope and love.

“But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hope is the expectation of something good in your future. Abraham had hope in his heart—expecting God’s promise of a son born of Sarah.

Abraham had faith—he believed that God could still give Him a son even though his body was already almost dead.

Finally, Abraham loved God. This love stemmed from believing that God loves him. Due to love, he believed that God would be faithful to keep the promise.

Hope deals with the desire, faith is about the ability, and love covers the willingness. Through faith, hope, and love, Abraham wanted the promise of God, and believed that God is willing and able to do it for him.

Abraham inherit the promise. He “grew strong through faith,” and was renewed physically to be young and strong again, able to father a son.

It was also after this that Sarah (about 90 years old) became beautiful and young again, able to even nurse Isaac herself after giving birth to him.

One revelation that the Lord gave to me is the word “grew”. Growing is produced by receiving life-giving power. Abraham grew strong because he received life into his body through faith, hope, and love working in him.

No one grows old because aging is death. A person can become old naturally, but they can only “grow” young, healthy and strong through God.

We might be asked or we might be ordered to perform duties that we do not want to perform. Say, in a crowd control situation, what we’re doing now is to maintain law and order but perhaps after 1997 we’ll be asked to exercise force on the crowds that is unnecessary.

In other words, in simple terms, we’re afraid that we’ll be ordered to do things that we do not want to do.

(You would refuse to obey orders?)

I would, if I am asked to do things that, in my opinion, are immoral or incorrect.

But I must say I would stay until the very last minute because this is my home. This is the place (where) I was born, brought up and educated. I want to stay. I want to serve the people of Hong Kong.

今天，2018年9月9日，農曆七月三十日，就是隔幾年才能夠見到的「南無大願地藏王菩薩」的聖誕。

吾虔心地告訴妳你們，外面的傳說是不確實的。「南無大願地藏王菩薩」確實是幽冥教主，更是一位大菩薩，所以就會有很多的護法金剛圍繞著祂。祂在地獄境界裡，有祂的淨土，名為「翠微淨土」。

佛經記載，誰祇要在家裡供奉祂，不但沒有魍魎魑魅、鬼怪事情，反而還能夠得到以下這十大功德利益：

如果妳來世不願再做女兒身，瞻禮祂供奉祂就能夠得男兒身。

夜夢平安、氣色顏好、不遇盜賊，等等等。

所以在今天，大家可以先沐浴，可以齋戒就齋戒，在客廳的沙發，或壇城前坐端正合掌，恭唸「南無大願地藏王菩薩」，7、21、49、108、1080遍，越多越好。可迴向給自身、家庭、父母或需要幫助的人，比如在醫院的病人，都會得到很大的加持，而能夠如意圓滿。

Today, 9 September 2018, also the 30th day in the 7th Lunar Month, is the Holy Birthday of the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (Namo Di Zang Wang Pu Sa) which occurs every few years.

Please hear my sincere words that the rumours you heard are unfounded. The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is indeed the Lord of the Netherworld, but also a Great Bodhisattva surrounded by many Dharma Protectors. His Pure Land, named Cui Wei Pure Land, is in the Netherworld

According to the Scriptures, anyone who enshrine the statue of the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva at Home will receive protection against malevolent spirits and reap the 10 merits:

If you do not wish to be born as a woman in your next life, you can pay respect and make offerings to His statue.

You enjoy peaceful sleep, good appearance, protection against theft, etc.

Thus everyone can perform this auspicious recitation today. First, please bath yourself and observe vegetarian diet if possible. Seat yourself comfortably on the living room sofa or in front of the altar in straight posture and with your palms together. Recite “Namo Di Zang Wang Pu Sa” 7 times or 21, 49, 108 times. You will reap more merits if you recite a higher number. After the recitation, you may dedicate the merits generated to yourself, your family and parents, or another person who needed help, such as a patient in the hospital. The recipient will receive great empowerment and blessings.
