“Imagine you were born in 1900.
When you are 14
World War I begins
and ends at 18
with 22 million deaths.
Soon after, a global pandemic
The Spanish Flu
kills 50 million people.
You come out alive and free
You are 20 years old.
Then, at age 29, you survive the global economic crisis that began with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and hunger.
At 33, the Nazis came to power.
You are 39 when WWII begins and ends at 45. During the Holocaust (Shoah), 6 million Jews died. There will be more than 60 million deaths in total.
When you are 52, the Korean War begins.
At 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends at 75.
A boy born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, but they have survived several wars and disasters.
Boy born in 1995 and now 25 thinks it's the end of the world when his Amazon package takes more than three days to arrive or when he doesn't get more than 15 likes for his photo posted on Facebook or Instagram.
In 2020, many of us are living comfortably, we have access to different sources of home entertainment, and we often have more than we need.
But people are complaining about everything.
However, they have electricity, telephones, food, hot water and a roof over their heads.
None of this existed before.
But humanity has survived much more dire circumstances and has never lost the joy of living.
Maybe it's time to be less selfish, to stop complaining and crying.”

Maybe it’s time for some gratitude and love 🖤

For many years, we were preparing for the next recession because as we know the cycle happens every 10 years or so. People were speculating when will the next world war 3 happen that will destroy the economy and bring the world to its knees and reset everything once again.
Little did we know that the one that would be responsible for such a downfall this time would not be a nuclear bomb nor a stock market manipulation by greedy corporate players, but in the tiniest form of enemy - a virus. A tiny little virus that managed to cause massive chaos and deaths worldwide and throw governments into full red alert. It is now a global pandemic.
And it is indeed to be taken seriously if this disaster were to be overcome by us all.
Maybe it was caused by the US. Maybe it was China. Maybe even the Illuminati. Who knows? So many maybe’s. At this point we all need to unite together and follow the proper protocol - clean your hands, don’t touch your faces, practice social distancing, no large gatherings... you all already know the drill, so just do it. Stay at home until the curve graph gets flatten out and help our bro’s and sis’ in the healthcare departments out.
If you’ve always wanted to read that book, now it’s time to do it.
If you’ve always wanted to grind that MMR for Dota, now it’s time to do it.
If you’ve always wanted to tell that boy or girl that you like them, it was always the time to do it, why wait till now?
This is no time to be racist nor is it the time to be hating on each other’s religion. We all bleed the same color anyway regardless of whichever God you pray to, and at the end of the day everyone will die - so instead of spreading hate and bullshit and fake news, why not spread some positivity and hope. It doesn’t cost you anything.
Stop the panic buying. All the acts of hogging and keeping massive amount of stuff which you probably will not be able to finish will just cause harm to others who are not able to stock up on supplies. You’ll probably die of eating all 2000 packets of indomee before the coronavirus kills you.
Shame on those who uses this opportunity to earn money through hiking up prices because of limited supply. One day karma will come back and slap you in the face. But shoutout to the likes of Mydin and Jaya Grocer for taking proactive measures to help our senior citizens get their food supplies up and running.
And to end my ceramah today, I have here a picture of my favourite nasi lemak, our nation’s beloved dish. I hope we will all be able to overcome this together, not as Malays or Chinese or Indians or others, but as Malaysians united as one. May we see the light at the end of the tunnel once again and maybe we will all have a nice meal of nasi lemak together some day.
Sekian.
Bukan PM speech ye.
