Waffle Day today and I'm gonna make it taste like South Australia !! I've been eating a lot of waffle recently but it's almost always pairing with banana so this time around, I decided to try something citrusty so I made waffle stack and it's topped with a whole load of amazing stuffs that's great for both the mind and the body. Everybody needs a little bit of fun and treat every now and then so I figure why not have gelato on waffle today ? Which is why I'm adding this happy treat here, on top of some quality Manuka goodness and some sweetness from this delicious honey comb, because why not? They are gorgeous on the stack too!

And pairing it with cherry tomato tonic and lime to sparkle up the day, I'm glad to know that I am safely consuming premium goodness from South Australia and that it is now happening in Malaysia.

【Buzz Orange】入冬後空氣品質下降，我們要擔心空汙造成的危害嗎？

一起發生在 2013 年的女童死亡案例，如今被證實是空氣汙染直接造成女童死亡，成為全球首個死亡證明記載為「空氣汙染」的案例。入冬後，台灣向來空品不佳，進入空污高峰期，我們應該要擔心嗎？
全球首例空汙致死

據《中央社》報導，英國一名九歲女童艾拉．阿杜季希戴布拉（Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah）2013 年死於嚴重哮喘導致的急性呼吸衰竭，生前 3 年都受呼吸困難所苦，甚至為此進出醫院近 30 次。

艾拉一家居住在倫敦市川流不息的車道旁，該處的二氧化氮超過世界衛生組織的規定，而 法醫 認為汽車排放的二氧化氮及懸浮微粒就是造成艾拉嚴重哮喘的主因。

倫敦市長 Sadiq Khan 稱此判定是歷史性的一刻，並表示空汙是「公衛危機」。與此同時，公共衛生運動人士也認為應該全面修訂法改善環境。

台灣的空汙有多嚴重？

在台灣，空汙也常成為討論的焦點，不論是火力發電的黑煙、汽車排放的廢氣、中國飄來的霧霾，台灣的空汙有多嚴重呢？

《GREENPEACE 綠色和平》整理的資料顯示，台灣境外汙染源主要來自中國，境內汙染源則包含移動汙染源（主要為交通運輸排放之廢氣）；固定汙染源（火力發電廠、石化工業等）。

燃煤發電廠造成的空汙，每年造能台灣約 900 件早死案例，GREENPEACE 依照目前的電廠的規劃，預估未來早死案例將增至 1200 件。造成這些死亡案例的主因包括肺癌、中風、呼吸道疾病等。

空汙會害死我嗎？

《衛報》的報導指出，空氣汙染可能與女性卵巢活動減少有關。研究者認為，如果這種影響是永久性的，那女性的生命週期可能因環境因素縮短，更年期也會提早。高度汙染也可能與女性生育能力下降有關。

一篇《社會精神病學和精神病流行病學》的 研究 指出，汽車廢氣產生的二氧化氮，使憂鬱、焦慮等精神障礙的風險增加了 39％。汽車造成的懸浮微粒汙染則使風險增加了 18％。

一篇發表於《胸腔》（Chest）期刊的 論文 指出，空氣汙染對人類全身都有影響，心肺系統、肝臟、膀胱癌、骨質疏鬆症、生育能力、胎兒和兒童都會受到空氣汙染影響。

台灣的空氣汙染在 每年 10 月到隔年 3 月 會來到高峰，秋冬之際，東北鋒面來襲，易受中國霾害影響，中央山脈的阻擋也讓汙染物不易吹散。出門切記配戴口罩，防止疫情擴散外，也保護自己免於空汙傷害！
