Arrived in Newcastle yesterday evening and went straight for Covid Test before the check in at Hilton Hotel here.

Then went to have my dinner provided by the hotel and super grateful to meet them there @bashirabdi204 @kingcheserek @shazrine

We have a great chat. When I told them I am doing Towerrunning sport, they said this is crazy. They didn't know about Towerrunning sport and I am glad they know now after I shared it with them 😊

I told them let's do the stairs in the hotel here after the race tomorrow even though there is only 5 floors 😆

Then I went for my run this morning. Bumper into Hellen Obiri and ran with her together.

We have a great chat during the easy run. Super grateful to run with the World Champion. She just completed 5000m in Zurich Diamond League like three days ago and arrived here last night.

Then after the run, I met @galenruppofficial there. Have a great chat with him too and of course took a selfie with him.

Then breakfast with @bashirabdi204 and @hellenobiri

We also have a great chat during the breakfast.

What a great experience and super happy as a fan boy of Galen Rupp, Bashir Abdi.

*Looking forward to meet Stewart Mcsweyn later at the elite briefing at 5pm.

Congratulations to Cheah Liek Hou for bringing back the gold medal in the paralympics for badminton singles! Not only is badminton a popular sport in Malaysia, but since picking it up again, I've wanted to improve in my game, and skills as well to play better. I advocate to be a better version of myself each day, more so than the day before, and this also applies to the things I do on a daily basis 😉

How does the Paralympic classification system work?

Like the Olympics, the Paralympics are taking place a year after originally planned because of the delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
如同奧運，由於新冠肺炎大流行造成延誤，帕運比原計畫晚了一年舉行。

According to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), there are 2550 male and 1853 female athletes taking part in Games, which run from August 24 to September 5.
根據國際帕運委員會(IPC)的統計，從8月24日到9月5日舉行的帕運，有2550名男性運動員和1853名女性運動員參與。

"Classification is the cornerstone of the Paralympic Movement, it determines which athletes are eligible to compete in a sport and how athletes are grouped together for competition,' says the IPC.
IPC說:「分類是帕運的基石，它決定哪些運動員有資格參加某項運動，以及如何分組參加比賽。」

What makes a Paralympian?
是什麼造就一位帕運運動員?

Paralympians are grouped together by the "degree of activity limitation resulting from the impairment," according to the IPC.
根據IPC的說法，帕運運動員是根據"因損傷導致的活動受限程度"來分組的。

As different sports require different physical demands, the IPC says the classification process "aims to minimize the impact of the impairment on athletes' performance" so that their athletic prowess is showcased.
由於不同的運動項目需要不同的身體需求，IPC表示分類的過程中，旨在"最大限度減少損傷對運動員表現造成的影響"，以便展示他們高超的運動技能。

What do the classes in each sport mean?

The class groups athletes with similar athletic limitations so that they can compete to similar levels, but does not necessarily have to solely group athletes with the same eligible impairment.
分類會將具有相似運動限制的運動員分組在一起，讓他們以相似的水平競爭，但不一定必須將具有相同缺陷條件的運動員分在一起。

Because some impairments progress over time, athletes can change classification over time.

【教練，我想打籃球─十字韌帶重建後何時可以回去運動？】
有在運動或看運動賽事的人，應該對於十字韌帶斷裂這樣的運動傷害不陌生。雖然現今的醫療可以將斷掉的十字韌帶做重建，但並不是每一位運動員都能在手術後順利重返運動賽事，或是恢復到和過去一樣的運動表現。根據統計，如果不計運動賽事等級的話，在十字韌帶重建後能回到運動場上的比例大約落在56%-100% (不同研究有不同結果)。但如果要恢復到受傷前的運動表現的話，則只有13%-69%的人有機會能做到。即使回去運動後，也有20%-25%的機會再一次受傷。在面對韌帶重建的個案時，我們是否有甚麼方法可以評估個案是否具備回到運動場上的能力，或是個案達到甚麼標準之後，未來受傷機率可以比較低呢？這次的影片將跟大家分享四個用來評估十字韌帶重建後，何時可以重返運動場上的測試動作。

People who like to play sports or watch sport events might be familiar with ACL rupture. Although we can reconstruct the ruptured ACL with modern medical technology, not every athlete can return to sports after the reconstruction, not to say regain his previous performance level. It has been indicated that the rate of return to sport at any level ranged from 56%-100% (Different research has different result.). However, only 13%-69% athletes can regain their pre-injury level of performance. After back to sport, up to 20%-25% athletes will experience contralateral tear or re-rupture. When faced with those ACL reconstruction clients, do we have any method to evaluate whether client is ready to return to sport? Is there any standard client can achieve, which indicate the risk of injury could be relatively low? Today’s video will show you 4 single-leg hop tests commonly used to assess functional performance and predict when to return to sport for ACL reconstruction clients.
