Though lactation counsellors do not recommend to breast pump at the initial stage, due to Ilon and my hospital admission 2 weeks ago, I was advised to breast pump my milk so I could get some proper rest at night (for my high blood pressure) and the nurses can feed Ilon while he was getting his phototherapy treatment done at the NICU (to address his jaundice).
When we returned home the next day, I continued my prenatal ritual with Tanamera and because I didn’t want to be distracted during my warming massage, I had pumped some milk so Ilon could be fed in between my 3 hour treatment.
