Last year of today I won the Best Malaysian here in KL Tower International Towerthon Challenge and it kick start my journey to take part in oversea Towerrunning Races!
Remember the day before the race, I went online to look for oversea Towerrunning Races and I came across with Towerrunning World Association Vertical World Circuit Tower Running UK Towerrunning México Towerrunning Germany Towerrunning Austria. I told myself, if I win the Best Malaysian Title tomorrow, I will go oversea and compete!
Got to thanks to Jeffrey Ross who challenged me in doing this race and I discovered my potential in tower running.
I am glad in this one year time, I took part in a total of 7 oversea Towerrunning Races. Managed to qualify in La Verticale de la tour Eiffel and also Towerrunning World Championships in Taipei 101 last week. I am also very happy to bring Malaysia into Top 10 for both of the race.
I couldn't done all this without financial support from Felcra Berhad Life Engineering . 生命工程 University of Malaya and also my hard earn prize money from road races and money that I earned from being a part time athletic coach. Thank you again for believe in me.
I am always hope one day I can get my country to support me in terms of cover my expenses travel and compete oversea, also hope to get recognition from them as Towerrunning is also a competitive sports and there's World Championship as well.
It's growing fast in lots of countries now like UK, US, China, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Poland, Australia, Taiwan, Japan. There are almost weekly Towerrunning races in US and China as they have a lots of tall buildings.
I have also tried to write in to KBS, MSN, OCM and other corporate company to seek for financial support for me to compete oversea. Glad some of them reply me even though they can't support me but wish me all the best in achieving my dream to be World No 1 in Towerrunning, thank you! (Currently World Ranking 36th in TWA Ranking - Towerrunning.com)
*In 3rd of June, I am hoping that I can go to Mexico and compete in Carrera Towerrunning Challenge. I am still searching for financial support to buy the flight ticket.
Would like to hope that each of you can share this post and get more people to know about Towerrunning sports and Wai Ching is in need of financial support to represent Malaysia compete oversea Towerrunning Races.
