7. 🌸 Sharon
I enjoy all the beauties and the good in life: a bouquet of flowers, rainbows, the delicacy of porcelain china, the touch of snuggly fabrics, the scent of nature, the list could go on and on.
Samuel and I married early, we bought our first apartment with limited budget, I still tried hard to make the most of it to fit my “perfection”.
The small balcony was filled with plants and flowers. It was my secret garden, I can sip my cup of coffee and watch my greens all morning.
Not just the balcony; my kitchen was equipped with aesthetic and functional silverware and pots; I knocked down the tiles provided by the construction company, just to choose my own tiles, not to mention what I went through to find the right fabric and color for those hand towels.
Thus, I can not accept the fact that I was going to spend the rest of my life in a wheel-chair.
There was no more perfection.
The first year was the darkest time in my life. It felt like decades. No matter how hard I tried to squirm out of the whirlpool of darkness, the more I struggled, the more I was sucked into it. I was drowning.
There’s so much than what you see “a person in a wheelchair” who’s paralyzed. You don’t have bladder control, you suffer dysautonomia which simply means you have pains and cramps sending to your system by your damaged nerves. There are also issues like obesity, osteoporosis, and kidney, heart and lungs problems.
My stubborn tumor cuts me from T8-9, meaning from about 3 cm above my belly button until my waist down, I don’t feel a thing, and I can’t budge a toe. All of a sudden, from 167 cm tall, I became 125cm. With that height, I can’t see the faces of people, I can’t smell the fresh air, and no more scenic views for me.
Due to the PTSD, I started to lose weight, but with no balance and muscle to straighten my back, my tummy always stuck out. I looked like a shrimp that has a 6 months belly in a wheel chair. I had to throw out all my tight and pretty clothes in change of clothes that could cover up the bulging tummy, and easy to put on pants with elastic waists. My beloved shoes had to go too, my feet are easily swollen, I need bigger shoes.
My choice of clothing and trend was banished.
The nerve pains follow me EVERY SINGLE DAY, 24-7. The medications can only do so much. Isn’t it an irony? I can’t feel my son’s hands touching my legs. Or someone just come and pinch me, let me get some real pain here. Nope, they are all gone. Dealing with the pains of my body takes up most of my energy everyday.
I had to record everything that I take in and out too. I had to decide to rely on adult diapers or to use catheter. My pride and frustration was about to explode. It took one year with the help of my doctor to understand my body and find the way that I was most comfortable with.
My legs are paralyzed, and my weight kept on dropping. Physically and mentally I was a mess.
I could never get to my balcony anymore; my pretty tiles had handles on them; my velvet dresser chair became an obstacle for my wheel chair, so it had to go.
My porcelain tea cups were too high for me to reach. I can no more decorate my table exactly the way I want to.
These were nothing compared to how I had to pretend everything was alright with in front of Andrew. He was two, and he was just ecstatic mommy wasn’t leaving him every two to three months. I played and laughed with him everyday, until he sleeps.
But it was a pretty pass.
I have witnessed him tumbling down the stairs in a friend’s house. I was right there! There was nothing I could do except to bite my lips from screaming out loud. Hundreds of things that could have happened to him, and my SOPs zoomed through my mind in the flick of seconds. Samuel ran over to pick up our frightened baby, Andrew held out his arms to me. I held him tight, checked him from head to toe. I thank the Almighty that he was not hurt.
Sometimes, I sat on my recliner instead of the wheel chair. Andrew wanted me to follow him to his room and play. I took a piece of my heart and threw it to him, he catches it, pats his own heart. “Mommy is following you now.” My two-year-old walks always without any complaints.
I tried to be the super-mom that I wanted to be, I took Andrew downstairs to play by myself. When I tried to catch a balloon that flew away, I fell head over heals. Andrew was in so much fright that he refused to go anyway alone with me for the longest time.
I suck everything up in the morning, my tears, my frustration, my sorrows. Once Andrew falls asleep, the waterworks ran like tap water, it wouldn’t stop. No one can comfort me, no one could help me, not even Samuel. We have been fighting this battle for years side by side, we were not ready to face the defeat.
I wasn’t ready to talk to anyone about this. I can’t lose my sanity in front of Andrew. He deserves a better mommy and a lot more happiness.
My blue print for being a Mother was to be there for my kid: race in the park, lie on the grass and gaze at the sky, teach him how to swim. When it’s time for school, I want to be friends of his friends, I am going to run for the coolest mom in the whole class.
But now, life isn’t pretty any more.
All good that’s left, was Andrew.

Plantation of Sapling in International Yoga Day
20170620
Plantation of Sapling in International Yoga Day 印度總理納倫德拉.
Indian prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi made an attempt to the UNO meeting for International yoga day, and with utmost heavily happiness 192 countries accepted the appeal 21st June is the longest day of the year. And international yoga day’s date was fixed this very day. Since that time was around the globe all yoga lovers, governments sports and yoga authorities celebrates this day with gathering of yoga lovers, and practice yoga asanas. Pranayama and meditation.
But it is very essential to know that yoga is not merely a physical exercise. Yes, this yoga asana practice or pranayama and daily practice of meditation grants excellent health, peaceful mind and deep sense of integrity.
But at the same time it is very essential to know that meaning of yoga is not only confine to yoga asana or physical yogic exercise. Yoga means harmony, mutual love mutual affection and mutual reverence. Yoga means to link, connect. It is called that we connect our individual being with cosmic being; good. But what about our love for our nation, our mother land, our ecology, our surroundings, our nature, our own people.
Do we love our mother land. Remember mother land is first, society is next, and selfish motive never. So let’s try to love our nation.
H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji maharaj of Sivananda Asdsam, Ahmedabad, Gujrat (India) a land of Rev. Mahatma Gandhi as well as res. Narendra Modi (P.M. of India) is now a days in Taipei Taiwan upon an invitation of Sivananda yoga studio’s director Yogi James Lo.
He expressed a desire to Taipei city council Angela Yin for plantation of tree (sapling) on 21st June 2017 upon international yoga day, with his sincere feeling he said “Give a name to this tree “Love your Nation”. As he is planting trees around the globe. So far he planted more than 10 million trees around globe in USA, UK, Canada, Japan, China, Taiwan (This is his ninth visit to Taiwan), Germany, Netherland, South Africa, Nepal, and Marisious etc.
Council Angela Ying wholeheartedly supports this Plantation of Sapling in International Yoga Day.
She says until we love our country, our nature, our mother earth, peace, harmony and bliss is not possible.
So come all, come together, plant tree, keep Taipei green, keep Taipei clean, keep Taipei intake, keep Taipei’s integrity. You all will shine and proper, serve Taipei, love Taipei. Be loyal and faithful to Nation. That is the only real celebration of international yoga day.
May God bless Taipei and brothers and sisters of Taiwan.

There is a place in Pingtung where people are waiting in line everyday. Not for a superstar and not for Michelin restaurant, It’s for one of Taiwan’s most popular travel sight– Shanchuan glass suspension bridge.
Just remind for your safety,do not use umbrella when you walk through the bridge.
I got my ticket, they limit the number of people that can visit per day, so remember to make your reservations. Or try your luck.
At a length of 262m it becomes longest suspension bridge in Taiwan. It takes about half an hour to walk across the bridge. The bridge doesn't just come with a spectacular view; the bridge itself is a wonder. The bridge is covered with aboriginal arts. If you want to understand more about the Rukai tribe and Paiwan tribe, Rinari is a good choice.
In 2009 Typhoon Morakot destroyed Majia, Haocha, and Taisha tribe. These tribes left their homeland and started their new life in Rinari, meaning a place to wait for grace.
Rinari is also known as the Provence of Taiwan, your camera shutter won’t be stopping, see this Pangolin building it is actually a basketball court; this Darth Vader lookalike is actually a gathering place where teenagers social.
This orange glass house is Majia’s Village of Paiwan Tribe’s barn. There are yummy Rubies inside.
Rubies are actually locally grown red quinoa. Before de-shelling it has a splashing beautiful colour, this ancient crop that has great nutritious value is slowly getting its spotlight.
Now Iam going to have a taste of Paiwan’s traditional food, this taro looks so cute , there is a special way to eat it ,Ch'un Hua VuVu can you the teach me?
No problem, First , the taro put in your hand, then be hard extrusion it.
Amazing ,How convenient and easy?I try it.
用力
extrusion it.
In a village, every house has their own characteristic, from these decorations you can see every owners character and specialty, sometimes you may even see his tribal status.
What is this?
小米
Millet.
It’s so cute.
Millet is very important for the aboriginals. There are so many other traditions that waiting for us to discover. Using this opportunity I decided to visit Rinari at night, dive deeper into the life of the villagers.
Aboriginal ballads have very unique rhythms, each representing the village’s tradition and culture, the elders’ wisdom, expectations, and exhort. These aboriginal songs charms you to the bottom of your hear.

The Philadelphia 76ers played more like a playoff team than one mired in a miserable stretch of basketball.
Thaddeus Young had 26 points and 14 rebounds, Allen Iverson scored 20 points and the 76ers snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 117-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.
Iverson was a rookie the last time the Sixers lost 13 straight in the 1996-97 season. He played the best game of his four-game second stint in Philadelphia to help avoid another unlucky 13-game skid on his resume.
The Sixers had all five starters and two reserves score in double digits.
"We felt like once we did get a win, it was going to be extremely hard, one of the hardest games to win," Iverson said. "It was totally opposite."
Iverson hit the 20-point mark for the second straight game a day after his having his left knee drained of fluid. Young was sensational, using an 11-of-15 effort in the first half to give the Sixers a rare comfortable lead and easy win.
"It's been working for us, but we just couldn't get the win," Young said. "It really worked tonight."
Looking for a spark, 76ers coach Eddie Jordan benched power forward Elton Brand and paired rookie Jrue Holiday in the backcourt with Iverson. Jordan's move worked: Holiday had 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
"He just put us in a good rhythm tonight and had us flowing," Iverson said.
Brand, who was previously benched in some fourth quarters, said it was hard to complain about his role after a victory. He just can't believe he's considered a bench player early in the second year of an $80 million, five-year deal.
"When you look around at other teams, yeah," Brand said. "It's like, no disrespect, but [Golden State's] Mikki Moore gets the start and I don't. Not that he's not a good player, but, definitely."
Andre Iguodala left briefly with bruised ribs and scored 14 points on brutal 4-of-20 shooting. He's day-to-day and was not expected to practice Tuesday.
Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 24 points and Anthony Randolph had 15. Golden State lost its third straight in the finale of a five-game trip that started Dec. 7.
"You can't make excuses about a long trip," Maggette said.
Iverson's return generated a short burst of excitement, but not wins. His box office appeal is already lukewarm with only 12,795 fans listed to watch a slumping Sixers team.
Iverson joked at shootaround that after his ill-fated stint with Memphis, he sat home "trying to get fat." He wasn't in game shape and the Sixers came in with a bloated 18 losses.
He teamed with Young to make eight of 11 shots in the first quarter to help build a 12-point lead. Young really got rolling in the second quarter. He kept close to the basket and used a flurry of layups to score 14 points. He did hit a nice turnaround jumper that stretched the lead to 15.
Iverson capped the half by drawing a midair foul with 1 second left, hitting two free throws to make it 71-57.
Philadelphia won for only the third time in 19 games and its 12-game losing streak was the longest since 2006. Iverson was around for the start of that one three years ago before he was traded and the end of this one after his return.
Iverson acknowledges the years of banging down the lane and crashing the court have taken a severe toll on his 34-year-old frame. He's limited at shootarounds and practices -- by coaches decision, not complaint -- and no longer has the quickest first step in the league.
"I've been dealing with that the last 5, 6 years I've been playing," Iverson said. "I understand that when I fall or hit something that it flares up or gets irritated a lot faster than it used to. That comes from getting older."
By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, Iverson could rest. Willie Green's 3-pointer with 9:10 left in the fourth gave the Sixers 102 points, meaning free food at a fast-food restaurant for the few fans who bought tickets.
