The Value of Jesus’ Blood
“For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify to the cleanness of the flesh: how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where a last will and testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him who made it. For a will is in force where there has been death, for it is never in force while he who made it lives.” (Hebrews 9:13-17 WEB)
The wages of sin is death. This is the penalty of transgressions against the Ten Commandments.
Just one death was enough to redeem us and pay for all the sins of the world.
Think about the immense value of this person, Jesus Christ.
God the Son gave up His life so that through His death you might live.
The New Covenant of Grace is a will. In it, it is states that once you place your faith in Jesus as Lord, you receive the good things that belong to Him, including His perfect righteousness.
This will was paid for by Jesus’ shed blood, and it came into effect when Jesus died at the cross.
Do you know details of the inheritance you are entitled to receive through grace? Spend time in the New Testament to discover the riches in glory that are now yours to receive through faith.
Here is one to think about: if the blood of bulls and goats can sanctify to the cleanness one’s flesh, imagine what Christ’s blood can do for your body—nothing short of youth renewal and divine health!
God wants to renew your body and cause you to become younger, healthier, stronger, and more beautiful through His ways. Join me on a 31-day journey of discovering God’s youth renewal promises in “Younger and Younger”: https://bit.ly/younger-and-younger

Resurrection from the Dead
“Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised. If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain. Yes, we are also found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Christ, whom he didn’t raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised. For if the dead aren’t raised, neither has Christ been raised. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. Then they also who are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable. But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep.” (1 Corinthians 15:12-20 WEB)
There seems to be more focus on Jesus’ death than on His resurrection.
However, His resurrection is extremely important too.
Jesus’ resurrection proves that He is the sinless Son of God who is the Christ.
If He was not truly sinless, Jesus would not be able to conquer death and be raised from the dead.
It is precisely because Jesus was raised from the dead, and His tomb remains empty today, that we know our sins are forgiven.
I had the privilege of stepping into His empty tomb in Jerusalem back in December of 2014. I went to Israel with Amilee and it was an amazing experience to see the holy land in person. The Bible truly came alive for me.
In the future, there will be a few phases of the resurrection from the dead.
Firstly, the dead in Christ will be raised at the time of the Rapture to receive their glorified bodies.
Next will be the “first resurrection” that happens at the end of the Great Tribulation, whereby those saints who died during the Tribulation will be raised to eternal life.
Lastly, the final resurrection happens before the “Great White Throne Judgment”, whereby the dead unbelievers throughout all time, those saints who died during the Millennium, and the Nephilim giants, will be resurrected to stand before Jesus’ throne to be judged. Fallen angels (demons) will also be there to be judged but they will not need to be resurrected because they are spirits.
“Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’” (John 3:5-7 WEB)
If you are born twice in this life—once in the flesh, and once through the Spirit, you will only die once (sharing in Christ’s death at the cross).
“I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:11-15 WEB)
If you are only born once, you will die twice (once upon bodily death, and once during the Great White Throne Judgment, after being raised from the dead).
Christ has been raised from the dead. Your faith is neither futile, nor in vain!

The Three Groanings
“For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.” (Romans 8:20-27 WEB)
Firstly, the whole creation is groaning due to the fall that happened when Adam sinned. Sin brought death into the world, and death is producing all these groanings that show that creation is suffering.
God never designed for animals to harm man, and insects (such as mosquitoes) never bit Adam and Eve in the garden. Every creature, including man, was herbivorous, eating plants and fruits.
“God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food. To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.” (Genesis 1:29-30 WEB)
After Adam, the appointed ruler of earth, ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil against God’s command, that sin caused all of Adam’s subjects and kingdom to experience death and fall under a curse.
Ever since, the earth has been groaning, suffering from the effects of sin. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes—these are some manifestations of the earth’s groans.
Animals, insects, and birds attacking humans, plants producing poisons, these are also part of creation’s groans.
Secondly, we believers who have the indwelling Holy Spirit groan because we feel all the limitations and imperfections of this mortal body that has been corrupted by sin.
We who know about the Rapture eagerly long for the redemption of our body. Imagine a body that can never die or be destroyed. It never feels suffering, tiredness, or weakness, and can appear and disappear at will, traveling across the world in an instant, passing through solid objects at ease if needed to. This are just some of the amazing capabilities of the glorified body that is promised to us. Jesus demonstrated these after He rose from the dead.
God knows that we are groaning within, and that the sinful flesh makes us limited and weak at times. Our spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. To combat this, God gave us the greatest gift after Jesus’ ascension: the indwelling Holy Spirit.
The Spirit prays for the solutions to our most urgent needs that even we are unaware of, and He does so through groans that cannot be uttered.
Even though the Spirit does not pray with intelligible words, Abba God knows what is in the Spirit’s mind, and He takes that as perfect prayer in accordance with His own will.
These are the three groanings. The first came because of sin, the second because of patiently waiting for the final part of redemption, and the third is God’s gracious help to us while we are still waiting.
How wonderful it is to know that the Holy Spirit is offering up perfect prayers for you, even when you do not know the right things to pray for.
“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” (Romans 8:34 WEB)
In the same chapter, we find that Jesus who is in Heaven is also praying for us.
We have the Holy Spirit praying for us from earth, and we have Jesus praying for us from Heaven. This is according to Abba God’s will, and it is perfect.
“What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32 WEB)
The triune God is for you, not against you. The world was corrupted by sin, but God’s heart is not to destroy or condemn the world, but to save it.
He has already provided the perfect atonement through the blood that Jesus shed at the cross. God is using all His power to give you a glorious future, so put your faith in Him!

Samuel Dalembert learned Friday that an uncle, a carpenter feared dead in his home country Haiti, was alive. His godfather finally contacted Dalembert's relatives.
Dalembert felt some personal peace that family members in his home country were alive. But hearing the first-hand accounts of the extreme death and destruction in earthquake-ravaged Port-au-Prince has left the NBA's only Haitian wanting to help his countrymen so much more.
"I feel much better, but still my heart is for those who lost their loved ones," he said.
The Philadelphia 76ers center finds 48 minutes of distraction each night on the court. Dalembert made a $100,00 donation to help relief efforts, then had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Sixers to a 98-86 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
"I'm trying to do my best and contribute," a reserved Dalembert said of the relief effort. "The Philadelphia people responded. Everybody everywhere responded. That's a really good feeling. We're a nation of good hearts."
Dalembert taped a public service announcement for UNICEF encouraging fans to support the relief efforts in his home country. His donation went to UNICEF.
"I know, at a time like this, times are tough in our own home. But you find a good heart to help us out," he told the crowd before the game. "Everything is accepted. Don't feel like anything is too small to help out."
The Philly fans responded. The Sixers said in the third quarter they raised more than $30,000 at the UNICEF table on the concourse during Friday's game. Dalembert pledged to match the amount of money donated by Sixers fans.
"As soon as the game starts, my mind is basically on the game," he said. "I try to not think about anything. The game is a good distraction."
Dalembert made all seven of his shots and had three blocks.
Thaddeus Young scored 20 points for the Sixers and Allen Iverson had 17. The Sixers hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter that turned a tight game into a comfortable victory in front of one of their largest crowds of the season.
The Sixers are a modest 3-2 since team president Ed Stefanski refused to guarantee coach Eddie Jordan would last the season. They could be headed toward their usual pattern of getting off to a miserable start before regrouping in January and February and sneaking into the playoffs.
Jason Thompson had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Kings. Kevin Martin scored 19 points in his first game after missing the past 32 with a wrist injury. Martin was injured Nov. 2 when he collided with Iverson, then with Memphis.
The game marked a homecoming for Kings guard Tyreke Evans, of nearby Chester, Pa. He was a McDonald's All-American out of American Christian and a two-time state player of the year.
One of the league's top rookies, Evans failed to impress his hometown crowd, scoring 14 points. He missed 10 of 13 shots from the floor and made all eight free throws. He had hundreds of fans waiting for him near the Kings bench after the game.
"I was glad for people to see me play for the first time," he said. "I was probably thinking about it a little too much out there."
Elton Brand -- who was benched for entire fourth quarters a month ago -- scored 14 points for the Sixers and continued to find success in his role as an $80 million reserve. Dalembert and Brand combined to make their first 10 shots from the floor, the kind of production the Sixers envisioned they'd see more out of the frontcourt.
"I'm glad to be out there and contribute to winning," Brand said. "That's what hurt the most, losing and not being out there. Being out there trying to help, you feel good about yourself."
Andre Iguodala, who sprained his right ankle in the first quarter and briefly left the game, started the fourth-quarter run with a 3-pointer, then sank two free throws the next time down. Lou Williams capped the small but decisive spurt with another 3 that turned a one-point lead into an 11-point edge.
Iguodala, who said his ankle was bothering him "quite a lot," scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds.
Dalembert has long been the most-maligned Sixer because of his erratic production for such a bloated contract. He's enjoying one of his finest seasons and had his eighth double-double of the season.
"Sam's been anchoring us the whole year," Iguodala said."
Game notes
The 76ers held a moment of silence for late R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass, who died Wednesday. ... The Comcast-Spectacor Foundation made a $10,000 donation to UNICEF, and Comcast-Spectacor -- which owns the 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers -- planned to air public service announcements. ... The Sixers held the Kings to a season-low 37 percent shooting. ... Iguodala had his fifth double-double.
