=================================
1) Social media(SNS)
=================================
<例文>
What social media are you on?
I decided to take a break from social media for a while.
I spend too much time on social media. I need to cut down.
=================================
2) ____ person(〜派)
=================================
例えば、「犬派」は“A dog person”、「朝型」は“A morning person”と言います。ちなに、今日の会話でクレイは、“I’m not a big social media person.”
<例文>
I used to be a dog person, but now I’m a cat person.
I’m an outdoor person. On my days off, I like to go hiking or surfing.
I’m not a big beer person. I prefer wine or cocktails.
=================================
3) Point(意味)
=================================
は“What’s the point in/of ____?”、「〜しても意味がない」は“There is no point in/of ____.”
<例文>
What’s the point of studying English if you don’t use it?
I don’t get what the point of this training is. It’s pointless.
What’s done is done. There’s no point in crying over spilled milk.
=================================
4) At the time(その時)
=================================
例えば、「当時は携帯電話がなかった」と言いたい場合は、“At the time, cellphones didn’t exist.”
<例文>
At the time, I was living in Japan teaching English.
At the time, nobody had cellphones. It was important to be on time.
At the time, minimum wage was $5 an hour.
=================================
5) A thing(流行っているもの)
=================================
は“Is TikTok a thing?”、「昔流行っていました」は“It used to be a thing.”
<例文>
Back when I was a teenager, pagers were a thing.
Wearing baggy jeans used to be a thing in the 90s.
Zoom drinking parties became really popular last year. Is that still a thing?

Before visiting, we kept an eye on the weather forecast a couple of days in advance and also looked online for the trail routes and asked hiking friends for advice.
On the day, we arrived at Jian Tan MRT station early in the morning and took the Red 5 bus to its terminal station at Yangmingshan. From there, we then transferred to the 108 minibus to Anbu which marked the start of the hiking trail up Mt. Xiaoguanyin.
On the way, we were lucky to meet two regular hikers who were familiar with the area and gave us directions on how to get to each of the mountain peaks - the west peak, the beizhuzishan peak, north peak, north-north peak, main peak and then back to the starting point. Overall, the trail took 7 hours to complete and we timed it so that we could catch the bus back to Taipei at the end.
Some say that Xiaoguanyin, also dubbed the “Matcha Mountain of Taipei ” (as it looks like a mountain of matcha green tea powder), is more difficult to ascend han the Matcha Mountain of Yilan. From our experience, we agree - Xiaoguanyin, part of the Tatun Volcano Group, is really a formidable test of strength and endurance as there are many steep inclines and the terrain can be quite rough. Wearing good climbing gloves is also a must, as is carrying water, food and other supplies. If you visit, be sure to time your hike well to descend before the sunset, as otherwise the journeycan be quite perilous.
For beginners who want to take on Xiaoguanyin’s loop walk trail, it‘s recommended that you should be in at least a group of three and led by a guide who knows the path. You should also download the map of the mountain in advance as reception is unreliable on the mountain.
Even though you can usually find signs left by other hikers that show you the correct path, it's still possible for you to get lost on the mountain. Those who want to challenge themselves by climbing the mountain should probably be well prepared and do some training beforehand. Don't be tempted to visit just for some instagrammable photos without making the necessary preparations.
Be well-prepared, discover the beauty of the nature and the warmth of the people you meet, challenge yourself safely. After the journey, what awaits you is full sense of happiness and accomplishment. 2020.11.20

In this hiking vlog I hike to hidden caves found in a beautiful part of the UK boarding Wales and England called The Wye Valley.
This was my first time hiking in the Wye Valley, UK so I wanted to explore the hidden gems that could be found in this beautiful nature filled area of the UK. I began my hiking adventure by exploring Goodrich Castle, a stunning medieval castle found in the countryside. Next I went hiking around King Arthur's Cave, exploring the multiple hidden caves found in this area. After this I hiked to Devil's Pulpit which is a viewing point which gives an amazing view overlooking Tintern Abbey. Finally I went to another hidden in the Wye Valley called Giants Cave.
I did this hike as part of my training for the Lejog. In June I will be walking the length of the UK for the mental health charity mind. During the build up to this hiking challenge I have been doing walks every other day in England to prepare. If you would like to support my fundraiser for the charity here is the link:

In this hiking vlog I hike to hidden forts found in the beautiful hills of Dover!
I started my hiking adventure by hiking along the beautiful coastline at Botany Bay, Kent. Here I hiked to Kingsgate Bay Sea Arch and to the hidden gem folly called Neptune's Tower. After this I explored the impressive Reculver Towers and Roman Fort in Kent. Next I hiked around Dover Castle and Western Heights Of Dover. At Western Heights Of Dover I explored a bunch of secret forts and abandoned military buildings including; Drop Redoubt Fort, St Martin's Battery and Detached Bastion.

In this hiking vlog I hike to medieval castles in a stunning part of the English Countryside called High Weald!
High Weald, UK is home to lots of amazing hidden gems including awesome medieval castles. In this hiking vlog I wanted to explore some of these ancient castles and other hidden gems found in High Weald such as ancient abbey ruins. I began my hiking adventure by hiking to Camber Castle and then hiked to another medieval castle called Bodiam Castle. I then finished my adventure by hiking to Scotney Castle and Bayham Old Abbey.
I did this hike as part of my training for the Lejog. In June I will be walking the length of the UK for the mental health charity mind.
