大家知道該怎麼快速失去朋友嗎？ 答案就是把那些平常沒在爬山的人拉去一次走 18.65 公里😜

我原本告訴大家這條步道只有 16公里，而且等級是「中等」⛰️ 結果莫名其妙就走錯幾個彎，上坡也一個接一個😂 說真的有點微微不好意思😛

這次挑戰到山區是墨爾本東邊的 Dandenong Ranges⛰️ 很多蕨類讓我想到紐西蘭🌿 重點是樹蔭很多，適合不喜歡曬太陽的人😆

只不過這條步道中途經過許多觀光客景點，所以有些地方人爆多🙉 有點跟當初想去大自然的原因反其道而行😅

How to lose friends in one day? 😛

By taking non-hikers on a "moderate" day hike that was suppose to be 16KM which turned out to be 18.65KM due to random detours...🙉

The Dandenong Ranges is quite beautiful ⛰️ With ferns that reminded me of good old NZ ❤️

This track took us through some touristy spots such as Sky High Observatory where we stood out like sore thumb in our hiking gears 😂

Overall, good job guys👍 Hopefully we can do this again before the weather turns crazy in winter ☀️

《Happy Thanksgiving 🦃》

This thanksgiving was really meaningful to me.

First of all, feeling very lucky to have my family here, which is the most supportive thing to me.
Today is also exactly the day when I've been working in an Australian company for 3 months, which means I passed the trial period and can get the advanced working visa instead of using working holiday visa to stay in Australia.

Mom brought some pineapple cakes and sun cakes from Taichung, and I share with my colleague . Thanks them for caring me selflessly.

I met unbelievable weather, unbelievable people and unbelievable situations here.
But I would always remember how good my hometown is.

My boss arranged a seasonal review earlier this week.
Salary has been raised and he is very satisfied with me.
We chatted equally as friends (like what we do every day).
He wanted to know my experience of living and working in a foreign country as much as he can.

"It seems your life encountered huge changes after you came here ......"
He looked at me, with great mercy.

"Yes. But that's what I'm looking for. :)"
I replied, faithfully.

Well, thank you Melbourne, for having been treating me well so far.

Hugging trees helps koalas to keep cool, a study has revealed.

In a study published in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters, scientists used thermal cameras to reveal that, in hotter weather, the animals moved to the lower, cooler parts of the trees.

在刊登於英國「皇家學會學報—生物學」期刊的研究中，科學家利用熱視覺相機發現，在酷熱的天氣，這些動物會移動至低處，亦即樹幹較低溫的區塊。

They also pressed their bodies even closer to the trunks.

牠們也會讓身體與樹幹更為靠近。

The team, led by researchers from the University of Melbourne, was studying how koalas regulated their temperature.

由澳洲墨爾本大學領導的研究團隊正針對無尾熊如何控制其體溫進行研究。

This is part of a wider research project investigating the effect of climate on land-dwelling animals in Australia, a country which experienced an extreme heat wave earlier this year.

While PhD student Natalie Briscoe was studying the koalas’ behaviour, she noticed that in the winter the animals would stay high in the trees.

In the hotter summer weather though, they would move down.

But measurements of the temperatures of the tree trunks showed that, on days as hot as 39C, they were up to seven degrees cooler than the air.

"That’s what made us wonder if the koalas were using the trees as a heat sink," said Dr Michael Kearney from the University of Melbourne.

Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (Blood Cancer) in April 2018 while I was in Spain. Age 32.

Induction chemotherapy started 2 days after diagnosis.

Returned to Hong Kong for 3 rounds of consolidation chemotherapies and a bone marrow transplant.

In this video, I vlog about my life at (uncharted) sea, what is it that we are doing and the special work done by all the volunteers onboard.

One of the most amazing moments I have had so far was witnessing a old man, blind for 15 years, having his eyesight restored onboard our ship. The man in tears, on his knees, repeated the sentence with joy and gratitude saying “Thank you! Thank you! Now I get to see my grandchildren”
