📷 Oslo, Norway. Vigeland Park. April 2010.
It was our first family road trip, when our firstborn was four months old, and we drove for over seven hours to get from where we were living in Sweden to get to Oslo - the beautiful capital of Norway.
We stayed in the splendid Radisson Blu Scandinavian Hotel, visited Oslo Slottet (Royal Palace) and witnessed the changing of guards, window shopped along the main shopping street Karl Johans Gate, had a nice dinner by the waterfront at Aker Brygge, and took a boat ride along Oslo Fjord.
The place that left behind the deepest impression in me was Vigeland Park - which is the world's largest sculpture park by a single artist (Gustav Vigeland). There is a total of over 200 sculptures in the park and most of them are in the human form depicting different emotions and stages of life. Some of them were really fascinating and mind blowing, for instance the mother and child one here caught my attention. Although Vigeland didn't leave behind aids to help interpret his work, this sculpture is often perceived as a positive one and I saw it as one of joy, gratitude and bliss - exactly how I felt when I stepped into motherhood and held my child for the first time.
Just today, the toddler refused to let me go to the loo and had a huge meltdown when I absolutely had to. He cried profusely, tugged at my leg and even insisted on sitting on my lap. It was kind of hilarious yet absolutely endearing at the same time. I reminded myself that one day soon, he would spread his wings and fly and would no longer need me the way he does now. All I can do is cherish, hold dear and be thankful for the time when he still calls "Mama" a hundred times a day, can't make it through the night without me and kisses me a hundred times a day to let me know how much he loves me.

Allen Iverson and the 76ers' reunion tour kicked off with a fantastic opening act.
A full house, video tribute and enough No. 3 jerseys in the crowd to fill two or three merchandise stands. Iverson kissed the 76ers logo, danced with his teammates and bowed to his adoring fans.
All they need to do now is work on the finish. Fans came for No. 3 and stayed for No. 10 -- Philadelphia's 10th straight loss.
Chauncey Billups scored 31 points and Carmelo Anthony had 14 to help the Denver Nuggets spoil Iverson's return to Philadelphia with a 93-83 win over the 76ers on Monday night.
"I just felt like I was back home," Iverson said. "It was deja vu. Just a real good feeling. The fans made it hard on me because they made me more nervous than I already was."
The Nuggets did their share to ruin Iverson's homecoming. Denver scored the first 14 points of the fourth quarter to rally for its fourth straight win.
Iverson's old team improved to 16-5; his new-again team fell to 5-16.
"It was a positive experience to be part of A.I. returning," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "I thought he fatigued as the game went on and we got the benefit of it. He's not in the best of shape yet."
Iverson received a standing ovation when he left in the fourth quarter. He scored 11 points on 4-for-11 shooting and had six assists in 37 minutes.
Iverson's rousing return did little to mask the fact that the Sixers are a lousy team. Only one-win New Jersey has a worse record in the Eastern Conference.
"I haven't been here long enough to put a finger on one or two things [wrong]," Iverson said. "Tonight, with the way the guys competed, I don't know how they lost nine games in a row. I couldn't see it, not from the team I was playing with tonight. We'll get it together, believe me."
Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 31 points, Thaddeus Young had 21 and Samuel Dalembert grabbed 15 rebounds.
But this night for the Sixers was all about Iverson in his first game with the team since he was traded in 2006. A sellout crowd of 20,664 stood and roared in approval when Iverson was introduced and planted the kiss on the centercourt logo.
Iverson missed his first shot, a makable layup early in the first quarter. His first points came off a 4-footer he tossed up off a Dalembert miss.
Energized by the emotional pregame show, the 76ers played one of their strongest quarters of the season. Iguodala, who bristled at the end of Iverson's first tenure at being labeled "AI2," scored 14 points to show this was still his team.
It's still Iverson's crowd.
The building hummed every time he touched the ball, and each basket was cheered as if it were a playoff winner.
Iverson played sparingly in his three-game stint with Memphis and feared he'd be out of game shape for his debut. He played all but 1 second of the first quarter and sat out in the second half mostly because of three fouls by the middle of the third quarter.
Backed by 18 points from Iguodala and 10 from Thaddeus Young, the Sixers led 44-41 at the break.
They stretched that lead to nine when Iverson tossed a floater toward the basket that Dalembert slammed in for the alley-oop and had the Sixers feeling like their losing streak would be history.

So much for the Phoenix Suns' chemistry woes.
General manager Steve Kerr had a little talk with the team before Monday's shootaround. What followed was a 3-point barrage that an old sharpshooter like Kerr surely appreciated.
Shawn Marion scored a season-high 27 points, had six blocked shots, and hit five of Phoenix's 20 3-pointers to lead the Suns to a 137-115 romp over the Denver Nuggets in a division leaders' matchup that quickly became a mismatch.
"A good day at the office, I guess you could say," Marion said.
Marcus Banks, who has played his way back into the Suns' rotation, made a career-high seven 3s -- in eight attempts -- en route to a season-best 23 points. The 20 3-pointers matched a franchise record and were one shy of the NBA record set by Toronto on March 13, 2005.
Steve Nash said Kerr told the players "he just believes in us and wants us to believe in one another and give ourselves our best possible chance."
Nash said that he hopes the talk had an influence on the game.
"But you can't expect Steve to make a Knute Rockne everyday," Nash said. "Hopefully, we're capable of being professional."
Kerr downplayed the talk, saying it was something that happens on teams a few times in a season.
After four games in five nights, the Nuggets were in no shape to match the highly motivated Suns.
"They got happy and they got cocky and they rubbed our faces in the game a little bit," Denver coach George Karl said. "It will be fun the next time we play them."
Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said too much has been made of the team's perceived chemistry problems, and he blamed himself for "over-exaggerating."
"It's a matter of everybody just going after it," he said. "Let's get after it. Let's go win rather than 'Woe is me, I hope we don't lose.'"
The Suns jumped out to a 17-6 lead, were up by 23 in the second quarter and 25 in the third in their best offensive showings of the season after a disappointing 118-113 home loss to New Orleans on Saturday.
Marion made 11-of-15 shots and grabbed 14 rebounds before leaving with 4:23 to play. The five 3-pointers, all of which came in the first half, matched a career-high. He equaled his career high with the six blocks. It was the fifth time Marion has had five 3s or six blocks.
Banks, who has fallen out of favor with D'Antoni on numerous occasions, has earned his way into the rotation with his play in the last three games.
"What he needs to do, and he's doing it, is learn how not to foul in crucial times, how not to turn it over, how not to jack one up and be a real team guy," D'Antoni said, "and he's trying."
Banks said he hoped for more playing time.
"All I can do is sit over there and wait until my name's called," he said. "When it comes, I'm going to go 110 percent and give them my all and just take care of business out there."
Grant Hill added 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Amare Stoudemire had 20 points and 10 rebounds as six Suns reached double figures.
Allen Iverson scored 32 for the Nuggets, 17 in the first quarter when his team fell behind 46-34. Carmelo Anthony added 20 points in Denver's second loss in eight games.
Down by 25 early in the third quarter, the Nuggets used an 11-2 run to cut it to 101-90 on Camby's three-point play with 25.6 seconds left in the third. But Stoudemire sank a 16-footer, Iverson missed two free throws and Leandro Barbosa made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to boost Phoenix's lead to 106-90 entering the fourth.
Denver, coming off a home victory over Philadelphia on Sunday, closed to 112-99 on Nene's fastbreak layup with 6:48 remaining, but Banks ended any comeback hopes with a pair of 3s.
The first half ended after Brian Skinner drew an offensive foul on Kenyon Martin, then made -- what else? -- a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it 78-59. It was Skinner's second career 3-pointer. His first, from about 40 feet, came earlier this year at the halftime buzzer against Sacramento.
Phoenix made 11-of-15 3s in their second-highest-scoring half of the season. The Suns shot 60 percent in the first half and were led by Marion with 21 points.
Phoenix made nine of its first 10 shots en route to a 46-point first quarter.
Game notes
Phoenix raced to its big first-half lead despite foul trouble. Boris Diaw had four and Marion, Stoudemire and Hill three apiece. ... Stoudemire missed practice on Tuesday, saying he needed to stay home with his ill son. ... Iverson entered the contest scoring 21.8 points per game against the Suns, his lowest average against any NBA team.
