[#郵票地中海] 今日希臘的愛奧尼亞群島 (Ionian Islands) 是藍天白雲的渡假天堂，原來曾幾何時，這些島嶼卻是一個獨立國家。拿破崙戰爭期間，英國從法國手中奪得這些島嶼，1815年的《凡爾賽條約》宣佈成立「愛奧尼亞群島合眾國」(United States of Ionian Islands)，作為英國的保護國，當時希臘依然是鄂圖曼土耳其帝國一部份。後來希臘獨立，一直希望「收回」愛奧尼亞群島，英國則留待希臘出現親英反德國王，才在1862年把群島移交希臘，「合眾國」同年取消。這是「愛奧尼亞群島合眾國」自己發行的郵票，以英國維多利亞女皇為核心圖像。
