A couple things I would like to say regarding recent events, and I hope to give you a better understanding of the team's management by the end of this post.
.
.
Since 2017 when our management team was formed, I take great pride in saying that we have had very few missteps surrounding our management practices -- whether it is regarding our staff, our current players, or even players that have left. We pride ourselves on being firm, but fair, to enable our teams to perform as well as they can, and to enable us to best entertain you, our fans. I hope you can trust our track record on this, and continue to place faith in Team Secret.
.
.
It has always been our policy not to get involved in personal conflicts. Some people like each other, some people don't like each other -- it's not appropriate for an organization to get involved in personal conflict, as long as both remain professional and have the common goal of winning as a team. I have a great relationship with Biu, and with OTG -- I am not going to comment on their personal conflicts, and I ask that you also respect their privacy in this matter.
.
.
What I will comment on is their professional capacity. There's been much speculation over the last few hours, and I want to shed some light on our team's activities, to give you a better sense for how decisions are made. Our management philosophy is simple -- to make the best and fairest decisions for the good of the team as a whole. Sometimes that will lead to one or more people being upset, but try to be as balanced as the situation allows.
.
.
In my experience with him, OTG's management of our PUBG Mobile squad in Malaysia has been exceptional. From taking care of team logistics and bootcamps, to supporting each player's needs, to managing tournament schedules, practices, and casting engagements, he has been nothing short of professional towards myself, and our global management team. When a player forgets their headphones, OTG is the guy that will drive an hour back to a player's home to fetch their headphones. I don't say this from just my own single point of view, but it is also a shared opinion from our players, and our global team.
.
.
Following our win in the Malaysia Country League, the team strengthened our lineup with Jangs and Rex in order to prepare for the World League. This was a team decision, and every player -- including Biu -- believed we would be stronger with these new additions. This however, meant naturally that one player would be an observer during games, which is not uncommon for many teams fielding 5 or even 6 man rosters. Rex, Biu, and even uHigh all came in and out of the active lineup, as the team experimented with different strategies to adapt to the meta and playstyle of the World League.
.
.
The active time of each player during World League was a result of guidance that I gave to OTG and the rest of the team. After experimenting with different lineups and strategies during the weekday group stages, we knew there were only 3 Super Weekend chances to qualify for the Finals. Out of the 3 Super Weekends, the team decided to allocate time for Biu to be in the Week 1 active roster, for Rex to feature in Week 2, and for the lineup with the highest point total to carry the momentum the rest of the way. My guidance was to put personal matters and emotions aside, and make decisions based on what would be best for the team in this moment. Ultimately we have responsibility towards all of our players, and our fans, to give the best performance we believe we can give as a team.
.
.
From a personal standpoint with Biu and OTG, as a friend I will get involved if asked, but any personal matters are for them to work out between themselves, not the Team Secret organization. I sincerely hope as a community we can give them the space to solve their differences.
.
.
From a team management and professional decision standpoint, I would humbly ask you to direct all criticisms to me. We manage with the best of intentions, but that does not mean we don't have room to improve. I hope we can continue to have your trust, and we can count on your support for this upcoming season.

With Beidawu’s Kuaigu lodge and campground not open, we decided to challenge a single-day ascent to Beidawu Mountain. Starting at the new trail head, we had to ascend and descend some 1900m and cover nearly 24km in a single day. We were up at 1:30am and hit the trail at 3:30am. When we reached the summit, fog started to fade away, revealing the breathtaking sea of clouds. We stayed for a while at the top not only because of the stunning view, but also because I was exhausted after a long and grueling hike.
All of a sudden we heard huge cracks of thunder above us so we hurried to hike down. In no time, the heavens opened and it began to pour down. It was raining so hard we were quickly soaked through, making the remaining trip cold, wet and quite scary (also due to nightfall). The descent was the hardest part - pain have already built up in my knees even before the summit, and with each step downhill I felt sharp stabbing pain in my kneecap and on the bottom of my feet. Thankfully we made it down safely and by the time we got back to the new trail head the sun was already up again… The entire trip took us nearly 26 hours to complete.
This short cinematic vlog is proof that we have conquered the 3,092m Beidawu Mountain in a single-day ascent.
