Had a great conversation with Pak Farid Khan, The President of Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
He is truly an inspirational businessman.
He had to leave school at 13 years old when his father passed away to take care for his 8 other siblings.
He worked his way up to now being able to lead as Chairman of Bourbon Offshore Asia Pacific.
Truly refreshing to hear his stories & ideas on how to move Malaysia & Singapore forward.
Interestingly Pak Farid applied to run as the President of Singapore in 2017.
One of the conditions to run as a Presidential candidate (if you're from the Private Sector) is to have over $500 million in shareholder equity. A herculean precondition to fulfill.
Was genuinely concerned in his taste of food when he said that the best Asam Pedas he has tasted was in Gelang Patah.
I told him that i'll take him on a tour around Muar to try the best Asam Pedas & Otak otak the world has to offer 😎
I wish him all the best in his future pursuits.
Dato' Maw is not your ordinary "Dato". He is one of the proudest Cina I know. Dato' Maw is fearless when it comes to pushing boundaries, breaking stereotypes and saying what needs to be said. His goal is to fill the void between two generations, the old and the new. Make great music that's close to us as Malaysians and prove the whole of Chinese Music Industry here in Malaysia wrong!
