這篇文章都兩年多了，本週《疾厄》終於上映了。我們來看看，溫子仁自編自導、改編自己漫畫的這部作品，在說些什麼？

這幾年，我要稱呼溫子仁為「恐怖大師」時都有點心虛，的確，他打造了《厲陰宅》電影宇宙；的確，他訓練了一批嚇人子弟兵，這些導演編劇徒子徒孫讓好萊塢更加熱鬧。溫子仁大師之名當之無愧，問題在「恐怖」：他最近一部親自指導的恐怖電影，已經是 2016 年的《厲陰宅 2》，隨後他導演了《水行俠》，創下 DC 宇宙票房新高。現在，在他執導《水行俠 2》之前，他終於回歸老本行。電影公司也宣布，明年 8 月 14 日，溫子仁睽違 4 年的恐怖電影《惡疾人》(Malignant，暫譯) 正式上映。

《惡疾人》其實是一套 2011 年的圖像小說，正是由似乎永遠都不需要睡覺的溫子仁編劇的漫畫作品（漫畫名為 Malignant Man）。

溫子仁 2010 年推出執導電影《陰兒房》(Insidious)、至 2013 年推出執導電影《厲陰宅》之間的幾年，做了很多電影編劇或導演以外的事業嘗試──他真的都沒在休息。

其中，出漫畫也是他的新工作。對一個把自己公司名稱取成「原子怪獸」的傢伙，妳大概清楚這傢伙的宅度應該不比妳低。他編劇的《惡疾人》漫畫也看得出來，吸納萃取了恐怖電影史與漫畫史上的精采點子，成為一部科幻驚悚漫畫。

亞倫蓋茲命運悲慘，他身懷的惡疾 (malignant，書名原意) 更令他不得不令命運低頭──那是顆惡性腫瘤。他也許只剩等死這項人生目的了，問題是，他意外發現了身上這顆腫瘤，竟然是來自外星球的寄生物！這種寄生物讓他同時獲得了特殊的超能力。

The Hong Kong police issued a statement the night before yesterday quoting the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department’s response to the arrest of the 12 Hongkongers. The short communication was full of loopholes. If these 12 people are still under investigation, how can the authorities be sure that they will be approved by the procuratorate for arrest later? One of the 12 people was the skipper, is he a member of the smuggling organization? If he is indeed part of a smuggling group, why was he escaping to Taiwan? Why was there no mention of the arrest of the skipper? What happened to the speedboat? Did the 12 people buy the boat hence it was confiscated?

It has been more than a month and they still could not spin a better story. The power has become so domineering to the point where they say what they want without regard for whether it is believable or not anymore.

Chinese state media reported that, at the recent Third Central Symposium on Xinjiang Work held in Beijing, Xi Jinping emphasized the need to “uphold efforts to sinicize religion, sinicize Islam and forge the collective consciousness of a common Chinese identity.” Following Xi’s “sinicization of Tibetan Buddhism,” this is another one of his latest sinicization campaigns with requirements explicitly put forward.

Both Tibetan Buddhism and Xinjiang Islam are religions based on beliefs in God or divine inspirations, while in other parts of China, most religious believers just pray to gods and buddhas for blessings. Very few people truly believe in gods, reincarnation, or life after death. If “One China” means China under the dictatorship of the atheist Communist Party, then the “sinicization of religion” denotes a false and bogus religion. A leader who can come up with the idea of sinicization of religion under atheism is enough to show that there is nothing believable about this regime, including the woven tale for the 12 arrested Hongkongers.

In the era of ancient China’s absolute monarchy, although there was no real religious belief, ancient Chinese emperors at least paid respect to ancestors and held ceremonies to worship heaven. Dictatorship began from as early as the Qin dynasty to the Han Dynasty during which Dong Zhongshu proposed the rule to respect the emperor. However, he also proposed to restrict the emperor and respect heaven; the emperor would be called the son of heaven, meaning the heavenly father was watching over. The occurrence of a catastrophic natural disaster would be the wrath of heaven; the emperor would often issue a rescript for penitence, and reflect and review to improve governance.

The atheistic CCP not only does not believe in gods but also disbelieves in heaven. Mao Zedong claimed to be a “monk holding an umbrella,” meaning that he was above the law and above heaven. He also said, “Battling with heaven is endless joy.” Therefore, under the guidance of the idea of “Humans will triumph over the sky,” the Great Leap Forward brought about a situation of “endless suffering” for the Chinese people.

However, the CCP regime before Mao the second at least would not, on the one hand, claim to believe in Marxism-Leninism, and on the other hand, bludgeon itself with such absurd theories as the “sinicization of religion.” Perhaps Mao 2.0 now possesses absolute power such that no one dares to tell the truth, resulting in comments of all illogical nonsense.

Recently, the Chinese education department was so preposterous that it blatantly falsified the Bible. The story of Jesus and the Adulteress from the New Testament was cited in textbooks but the ending of the story was distorted. In the original passage of the Bible, Jesus said to the adulteress, “I, too, do not condemn you; Go and sin no more!” The Chinese textbook, however, presents the story as: “When the crowd disappeared, Jesus stoned the sinner to death saying, ‘I too am a sinner. But if the law could only be executed by men without blemish, the law would be dead.’” Forcing words to justify the Chinese leaders into the mouth of Jesus.

Of course, anyone who enforces the law in any society will not be a flawless person, but in a normal society, at least the law enforcers know that they are either guilty, or that regardless of religion or even non-religion, they believe that “there is a deity watching over them.” In addition to believing that “a deity is watching,” law enforcers are also restrictive in their power by the separation of powers with mutual checks and balances, as well as the supervision of the Fourth Estate. Nearly 300 years ago, the French Enlightenment thinker Montesquieu said, “Every man invested with power is apt to abuse it, and to carry his authority as far as it will go. Power is naturally expansive and has a tendency to turn malignant. As long as there are insufficient restraint and supervision, any power will give rise to corruption. To prevent this abuse, it is necessary from the very nature of things that power should be a check to power.”

The power we face and its extension in Hong Kong may be the most extreme power in human history. It has no restraints nor any checks and balances, and without the constraints of “heaven” from the dark ages of ancient China and the Western Middle Ages. Its “expansion and malignancy” can exceed all human imagination. Therefore, normal people can only completely and absolutely distrust this absolute power.

啊，一二月又這樣過去了，你知道一二月過了之後對於電影界代表什麼嗎？
代表爛片的季節過去了（雖然以現在的好萊塢來說一年四季都有大爛片就是了。
讓我來告訴你今年最值得期待的電影有哪些，其中有好幾部你甚至可能還沒有聽過，
話不多說，讓我們開始吧！
首先是四月上映的福斯探照燈-抱歉-米老鼠探照燈-
探照燈影業出品的恐怖片《Antlers》，雖然說宣傳中沒有確認是根據什麼故事改編，
但看來似乎是衍生自加拿大原住民的恐怖生物溫迪哥食人魔。
由傳奇導演吉勒摩豆豆龍監製，《黑勢力》的導演史考特庫柏執導，
你知道《黑勢力》之中強尼戴普的扮相其實是他跟安柏赫德生活多年後的實際樣貌嗎？

我就說四個字：
《新變種人》
懼怕它，逃離他，命運終將降臨。
你還記得兩年多前第一次看到這部電影的預告嗎？
在那之後被延期了幾次？三次？四次？

這部命運多舛的電影在迪士尼收購福斯之後更是近乎胎死腹中，
一會傳聞要變成直接在Disney+上推出，一會又說要直接取消。
現在，終於確定會在四月上映導演當初拍攝的版本，
由《生命中的美好缺憾》導演喬許布恩執導，這部電影也許會是第一部真正的超級英雄恐怖片，
其實新變種人在漫畫中本來就有一段叫Demon Bear的故事線是這種風格，
雖然很多人都看衰這部電影，希望他拍爛，或者覺得拖了這麼久爛不爛都沒差了。
但是我個人還是對於這部電影怎麼將漫畫拍成恐怖片非常感興趣。
況且它還有我的女神安雅泰勒喬伊。
不過，最近幾個預告還是讓我有點擔心這部片在後半段會變成老梗的超級英雄電影。

下一部電影是Swallow，我不確定台灣會不會上映，八成是不會，
有少數人可能知道我前幾年第二名的電影是法國的《肉獄》，越讓我不舒服的電影我愈欣賞，
而這部電影看來似乎正是如此，講述一名家庭主婦有著異食僻，開始把愈來愈奇怪的物品吞下肚。
在美國已經看過的媒體將之稱為融合了大衛柯能堡的身體恐怖以及大衛芬奇的張力。
其中似乎也是在探討這些家庭主婦對於自我身份的迷失以及茫然。
運氣好的話，金馬奇幻影展可能會上映。

我知道，我知道，連續講的三部都是恐怖片，不認識我的人大概會覺得我是個只看恐怖片的變態，
所以下一部是個歡樂的動畫片狗狗史酷比！
並不是
下一部電影是一部...
驚悚片。
我從好幾年前李奧納多得獎時就說另外一個萬年摃龜苦主也早該得了，也就是艾美雅當斯。
有可能讓她有機會的電影，也就是《窗裡的女人》
導演是《贖罪》《最黑暗的時刻》的喬萊特，
講述一名社交恐懼足不出戶的女人在窗裡目睹了一樁慘案，但是卻沒有任何人相信他。
卡司還包含蓋瑞歐德曼、茱莉安摩爾、安東尼麥基、布萊恩泰瑞亨利、以及珍妮佛傑森李
只希望它能夠比另一部某樣東西裡面的女人看到某個事件好看了。
你以為這部電影卡司已經夠強了嗎？別擔心，等等會有強到讓你高潮的

你知道A24出品的電影不一定好看，但是在大部分時候都耐人玩味，
下一部電影《綠騎士》就是如此，改編自亞瑟王傳說，
講述一個神秘的綠衣騎士挑戰圓桌武士來砍他一劍，條件就是要讓他砍回去。
而高文騎士-這部電影的主角-接受挑戰把綠騎士的頭砍下來之後，
他竟然就這樣自己裝了回去。
這部電影就是在講述高文遵守約定去尋找綠騎士的故事。
或者也有可能不是，我其實對於這部電影了解不多。
但是你知道的，A24電影總是令人膽寒徹骨、改變類型、翻轉老梗、沒有突發驚嚇、倒吃甘蔗、震懾人心、以角色為主軸、氣氛詭譎、改變人生
所以一定很好看
我猜完全沒有人看得懂我剛剛在衝沙小

下一部是Mank，大衛芬奇在拍影集拍了好幾年之後終於願意回歸本業拍電影，
如果你不知道大衛芬奇，容我介紹一下-社群網戰、火線追緝令、控制、美國版龍紋身的女孩、以及紙牌屋的導演，
聽到這裡你大概可以猜得到他的專長是心理變態以及反社會人士
（對，馬克祖克柏，我是在說你）
但是這部電影似乎跟上述的題材較為不同：
講述編劇赫曼Ｊ曼克維茲與傳奇導演奧森威爾斯爭奪《大國民》的編劇功勞的故事，
這聽起來可能頗無趣，但是對於電影愛好者來說這可是非常引人入勝，
因為《大國民》就是公認史上影響最深遠的電影，
而奧森威爾斯也是一個充滿不少爭議的人物，
而大衛芬奇在《社群網戰》之後如何運用它最擅長的張力營造在傳記片上更是令人好奇。


保羅布里格斯可說是一手將迪士尼動畫帶回黃金年代的最大功臣，
這位《大英雄天團》、《動物方程式》、《冰雪奇緣》的導演再次回歸，
今年的電影叫做Raya and the last dragon，
設定在一個神祕的王國，一個名為Raya的戰士嘗試尋找世界上的最後一隻龍。
也是一樣對於這部電影不知道太多，除了Akwafina是主角的配音以外。
而這也會是這清單裡唯一部動畫片，因為老實說，兩部皮克斯的動畫都不是讓我感到特別興奮。
而《蜘蛛人:新宇宙》團隊的新動畫起初看來雖然有趣，但是機器人一出來就...

雷利史考特已經好幾年沒有拍出真正令人驚豔的作品了(除非你問的是誰不重要)
今年再度回歸中古世紀設定，
更找來了自從《心靈捕手》之後就沒有再合作寫劇本的麥特戴蒙以及班艾佛列克擔綱編劇以及主演。
故事講述兩名原本是好麻吉的騎士，但是其中一人指控另一個人在他出外爭戰期間強暴他妻子，
於是國王命令兩人決鬥致死。
最近可說是燙手山芋的亞當崔佛也有參與演出，
只希望雷利史考特可以回到當年的實力了。

在這些年來，「溫子仁監製」已經自動成為爛片的代名詞了，
但是這回溫子仁終於要回歸本行自己來拍恐怖片。
Malignant這部電影號稱會是一部「老派的恐怖片」，
有趣的是溫子仁在2011年也編過一本漫畫叫做Malignant Man，
但是他一再澄清這部電影跟那本漫畫無關。
究竟溫子仁到底能不能再創《厲陰宅》的高峰呢?我們只能等著看了。

下一部則是魏斯安德森的新電影《法蘭西快報》，
我個人並不是他上一部電影《犬之島》的粉絲，但是我仍然非常好奇他每一部電影究竟會怎麼拍，
當然，這次又帶回了他招牌的置中構圖以及鮮豔的色彩，有趣的是從預告也可以看出有些部分是黑白的。
啟發自他從小對於紐約客雜誌的熱愛，這部電影被稱為是「獻給新聞媒體的情書」，
其中分為三段故事，分別聚焦於試圖在法國建立報社的記者、
以及另外兩段以魏斯安德森讀到的新聞啟發的故事:一名藝術品商人以及學生示威的故事。
聚集的卡司也是如同他前幾部電影一樣強大，在此就不贅述，
同時還有文藝片王子提摩西夏拉梅。
就讓我們期待「魏置中」這次的表現如何了。

自從《逃出絕命鎮》之後，似乎很難有人能達到那部政治恐怖片的高峰，
但是這部Antebellum好像有那麼一點機會，由賈奈‧蒙內主演，
故事講述一名女作家被困在一個如噩夢般的情境之中。
而既然antebellum是「內戰前」的意思，很有可能就是講述他被困在黑人仍被奴役的時期，
看來真的很有可能是另一部藉由恐怖片來探討種族問題的電影。

艾德格懷特可說是我最愛的導演之一，這次他要挑戰的是心理恐怖片:
這是這個清單裡的第幾部恐怖片了?第七部?
Last Night in Soho這部電影講述主角經過某種時空旅行來到他想像中的60年代倫敦，
卻有一些「意想不到」的發現。
艾德格懷特大多數的電影都有喜劇成分，而這次的恐怖片無疑是一個非常不同的挑戰。
不過因為他本來就是個視覺系的導演，喜歡用畫面說故事，以及他電影中無法忽略的節奏感。
而恐怖片最重要的就是用畫面來營造恐懼，就看他這次怎麼發揮了。
(而且這部又有我的女神安雅)

每個人心目中最愛的007可能都不一樣，但是對我來說，答案就是丹尼爾克雷格。
《生死交戰》將會是他的最後一部007電影，
在拍完上一部之後他說過「我寧願尿出玻璃碎屑也不願拍下一部007」，
這部讓他回歸顯然是有非常好的原因，對我來說這個原因就是導演凱瑞福永。
作為影集《無間警探》以及《狂想》的主創，他無疑是007史上最有風格的導演。
加上電影中出現的女性00號幹員，這部電影無疑會非常突出
但是從預告中也能看出某些成分也回歸了老派007電影較為...奇特的設定。
究竟我們會怎麼跟這一代詹姆士龐德說再見呢?
答案即將在四月...
因為［redacted ］，在11月揭曉。

終於進入了前三名，第三名的電影是《紐約高地》
沒有錯，我超愛音樂劇，更是超級沉迷林‧曼努爾‧米蘭達的《漢密爾頓》，
兩年前去紐約的時候還有看現場演出。
這部電影是根據他的另一部同名音樂劇改編，講述一個以拉丁裔為主的社區的故事。
說真的，裡面的音樂真的很好聽，你去看一下預告就會知道我在說什麼了。
而且在《貓》之後，我需要有電影療癒我對音樂劇的陰影。

來到第二名，到現在一定很多人在想怎麼沒有「那部」電影?
沒有錯，今年第二值得期待的電影就是克里斯多福諾蘭的《天能》，
這次他又來玩弄時間了，正著玩，倒著玩，坐著玩，還是八仙好玩。
似乎是講述一個能夠操控時間的組織?沒有人知道，諾蘭的電影總是這麼神秘。
之前我在看《猛禽小隊》的試片的時候有看到這部電影的五分鐘完整片段，
是特種部隊到一個音樂會裡拯救人質...大概吧
在看了五分鐘之後，我還是不知道這部電影在幹嘛，只知道我高潮了好幾次。
不過這次的配樂不是漢斯季默就是了，他跑去幫007配樂了，
換來的是《曼達洛人》和《黑豹》的配樂家路德維克約蘭松，
(對我來說勝過漢斯季默)

最後，來到了第一名，
我最期待的電影，當然就是花木蘭。


真正的第一名史上卡司最強的電影，集合了漫威、DC、星際大戰、不可能的任務系列的眾多演員，
加上近年來最強的科幻電影導演，改編公認史上最難改編成電影的小說之一。
這部電影是...

The minutes didn't matter. The Denver Nuggets were just encouraged to see a uniform draping Nene's beefy body again, and that great smile splashed across his face once more.

The big Brazilian forward played the final 77 seconds of the Nuggets' 118-105 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night, marking his return to the court 2 1/2 months after surgery to remove a malignant testicular tumor.

"Everybody was excited to see Nene back out there, just to see him back in his uniform, seeing him smile again after the stuff he's been through," said Carmelo Anthony, who scored 32 points and keyed the decisive run in the Nuggets' fourth straight win.

Nene had been out since Jan. 11, and it's been just over a month since he underwent chemotherapy.

In the locker room afterward, Nene never stopped smiling. He said he's still full of nerves, still absent enough stamina but certainly not lacking any strength.

"I survived, I'm still here," he said. "I'm a new man, stronger than ever, I just say, 'Thank you, everybody.' "

Allen Iverson added 31 points for the Nuggets, who are a half-game behind Golden State for the eighth and final playoff spot, and one game behind the Mavericks. The Warriors visit the Pepsi Center on Saturday night for another big matchup.

"That game's bigger than this game," suggested Anthony.

But this game will long be remembered, too.

When Nene stripped off his warmups and finally entered the game with 1:17 left, he was given a rousing standing ovation and teammate Kenyon Martin embraced him in a bear hug.

"George Karl said, 'Go ahead, enjoy your party,' " Nene said of Denver's coach. "It's a special moment in my life."

Nene had hoped to play about 5 minutes, but those aspirations were dashed when the Nuggets fell behind by 15 points early on.

Besides, it's not as though the Nuggets were looking for a major contribution or even an emotional lift.

"It's not about how he plays," Karl, a fellow cancer survivor, said before tip-off. "We're just happy he's back and we're going to celebrate his health, we're going to celebrate his coming off of major cancer surgery, and we're just going to celebrate. This has nothing to do with basketball. We're just happy he's with us."

Iverson said this was a night he'll remember forever.

"He's a teammate, and he's somebody we care about and we want around, but life is so much bigger than basketball," Iverson said. "When it happened to him, it put it more in perspective for me that it's not just about this game, it's about life. It was just a good feeling and I was happy to be a part of it."

Karl said he wanted to cry when Nene got into the game.

"It's worthy of tears," Karl said. "To see him come back, he's a hell of a person and to help him through this, if we can help him play this year, it will be a great story, it'll be a great feeling, it will be a great building block for the character and chemistry of our team."

Anthony also chipped in 10 boards and eight assists, helping Denver overcame a 30-point night by Josh Howard and 19 points and 15 assists from Jason Kidd.

The Mavericks are 10-9 since acquiring Kidd from New Jersey, but none of the wins was against teams with winning records. Six of their final 10 games are against teams above .500, including two against Golden State.

Dallas fell to 1-1 since losing MVP Dirk Nowitzki indefinitely with knee and ankle injuries.

But the Mavs controlled the tempo for much of the game. Kidd was left unguarded on the left elbow and swished a 3-pointer in the third quarter to give the Mavericks a 79-71 lead.

The Nuggets responded with an 18-2 run, with Anthony scoring half of the points. His breakaway slam dunk gave Denver its first lead since the opening minutes.

Anthony sank four free throws with 3:17 left in the third quarter for an 86-81 lead after Dallas coach Avery Johnson and Howard received technicals for arguing a personal foul on Howard.

"Geez, I'm the only guy in the league that gets a technical by saying one word," Johnson complained. "It wasn't even a bad word. I was asking for a clarification. They have to get some tougher skin."

The Nuggets built their lead to 94-86 after three quarters and weren't threatened again.

Howard surpassed his scoring average of 19.6 points with a 22-point first half, leading Dallas to a 70-60 lead at the break. But without Nowitzki, the Mavericks couldn't keep repelling Denver's runs.

"I don't know if there was a void. Guys stepped up," Kidd said. "We just couldn't keep them off the boards and didn't take care of the ball in that second half."

In the locker room afterward, Nene never stopped smiling. He said he's still full of nerves, still absent enough stamina but certainly not lacking any strength.

"I survived, I'm still here," he said. "I'm a new man, stronger than ever, I just say, 'Thank you, everybody.' "

"That game's bigger than this game," suggested Anthony.

But this game will long be remembered, too.

When Nene stripped off his warmups and finally entered the game with 1:17 left, he was given a rousing standing ovation and teammate Kenyon Martin embraced him in a bear hug.

"George Karl said, 'Go ahead, enjoy your party,' " Nene said of Denver's coach. "It's a special moment in my life."

Nene had hoped to play about 5 minutes, but those aspirations were dashed when the Nuggets fell behind by 15 points early on.

Besides, it's not as though the Nuggets were looking for a major contribution or even an emotional lift.

"It's not about how he plays," Karl, a fellow cancer survivor, said before tip-off. "We're just happy he's back and we're going to celebrate his health, we're going to celebrate his coming off of major cancer surgery, and we're just going to celebrate. This has nothing to do with basketball. We're just happy he's with us."

Iverson said this was a night he'll remember forever.

"He's a teammate, and he's somebody we care about and we want around, but life is so much bigger than basketball," Iverson said. "When it happened to him, it put it more in perspective for me that it's not just about this game, it's about life. It was just a good feeling and I was happy to be a part of it."

Karl said he wanted to cry when Nene got into the game.

"It's worthy of tears," Karl said. "To see him come back, he's a hell of a person and to help him through this, if we can help him play this year, it will be a great story, it'll be a great feeling, it will be a great building block for the character and chemistry of our team."

Anthony also chipped in 10 boards and eight assists, helping Denver overcame a 30-point night by Josh Howard and 19 points and 15 assists from Jason Kidd.

The Mavericks are 10-9 since acquiring Kidd from New Jersey, but none of the wins was against teams with winning records. Six of their final 10 games are against teams above .500, including two against Golden State.

Dallas fell to 1-1 since losing MVP Dirk Nowitzki indefinitely with knee and ankle injuries.

But the Mavs controlled the tempo for much of the game. Kidd was left unguarded on the left elbow and swished a 3-pointer in the third quarter to give the Mavericks a 79-71 lead.

The Nuggets responded with an 18-2 run, with Anthony scoring half of the points. His breakaway slam dunk gave Denver its first lead since the opening minutes.

Anthony sank four free throws with 3:17 left in the third quarter for an 86-81 lead after Dallas coach Avery Johnson and Howard received technicals for arguing a personal foul on Howard.

"Geez, I'm the only guy in the league that gets a technical by saying one word," Johnson complained. "It wasn't even a bad word. I was asking for a clarification. They have to get some tougher skin."

The Nuggets built their lead to 94-86 after three quarters and weren't threatened again.

Howard surpassed his scoring average of 19.6 points with a 22-point first half, leading Dallas to a 70-60 lead at the break. But without Nowitzki, the Mavericks couldn't keep repelling Denver's runs.

"I don't know if there was a void. Guys stepped up," Kidd said. "We just couldn't keep them off the boards and didn't take care of the ball in that second half."
