[FIRST REACTION 😰]
You will inadvertently panic for like 5 minutes. But that's about all you can afford before you need to do what is necessary. So, that night itself I bought a Covid-19 screening test and the next morning, I went for it.
[RATIONALE & PROCESS 🤔]
I chose to go to BP Glenmarie, Shah Alam because it was nearest to me and they advertised that I could get my results in 24 hours. There is apparently a drive-through option but I didn't see it when I was there and everyone was lining up instead so, "walk-in" it was. It costs RM 240 for the RT-PCR (recommended) test where they would take 2 swabs. One in and up your nose and the other down your throat. I paid for mine online the night before the test. They will email an e-receipt/payment voucher after payment which you need to show when you register. You can just use your phone and don't have to print. If you are employed and contribute to PERKESO/SOCSO, it's either free or subsidised so do check with your employers. You MUST present the letter from your employer though.
Maintain your distance even when you line up because there a lot of people there so you never know. I waited about 40 minutes before registering. I asked the lady at the registration when I could get my results and to my surprise/horror, she said 2-4 days. I thought it was within 24 hours but I think because of the surge and the sheer amount of people, they probably couldn't deliver what they advertised. Anyway, I asked if I could get it within 24 hours and it was an extra RM 30 if it's "urgent". I wanted my results ASAP so I paid the extra RM 30 at the registration line. If you're in no hurry, then you don't have to pay for it.
The next line was to wait for your turn to get the test done. Those lines looked long but were relatively short to wait. Prolly just 10 mins or less of waiting.
[THE TEST 🤒]
Now, this was probably the most uncomfortable test I've done. I've done an endoscopy before but I was anaesthetised so I don't know what was going on/in. But THIS. It wasn't exactly invasive or anything but it wasn't pleasant at all as well. They will put a long Q-tip up and in your nose. Real UP and in your nose. You WILL tear. Unless you have no feelings or a heart. And then they will take another swab from down your throat. The kind man asked me to "Ahhhh" but the moment I "Ahhhhh"-ed, I gagged. So yeah, uncomfortable and unpleasant would be the words I use. However, it only took less than a minute for the actual test. So no matter how uncomfortable, it was only for a very brief moment.
[THE RESULT 🤐]
The test result came back today and praise The Lord it's NEGATIVE.
I think the most difficult thing is not the result itself. Because obviously, it's been 11 or more days since my contact and I showed no symptoms. So even if I was asymptomatic and tested positive, by virtue of being young and relatively healthy, I'm confident I would've come out of it alive. The real test was the guilt playing up in your head IF you were to test positive. The amount of people you would've caused trouble to. Your family, the places you've been to, the other people you've met or been in the same space with. All these people would've had to go do the (uncomfortable + pretty expensive) test whether they like it or not. And the thought of maybe causing THEM to contract it because of ME. That weighed super heavily.
[IN CONCLUSION 🙏]
So yeah, I'm talking based on my experience at one specific place. All in all, they were good, quick, adhered all the SOP's and were very professional. My advice is to follow the SOP's set out and don't take this lightly. Stay indoors as much, wash your hands regularly, get tested if you need to and practice good hygiene. Stay safe everybody, God bless!

Everyone has their must haves for Hari Raya. Either it’s Lemang or Lodeh or Burasak or Sambal Kacang .. it really depends on the family’s self made ritual and habit .. I originate from down south, Johor. My mother has 5 sisters and our families used to be very close knitted.. each year on the morning of Hari Raya. We usually gather at one of my aunties house. And it was a feast of the eyes when you see how my mother n her sisters would prepare different types of Raya goodies that would fill the table. We would at least have 9 to 10 dishes all spread out as a feast. After we moved up to KL it would continue at our cousin brothers place, where my mother n I use to stay. Now slowly but surely with everybody having their own small family unit the tradition then dilutes off into new traditions and following. But for me I guess I am traditional in many ways. I like to keep such traditions running. With home gate wide open on the first day of Raya, seeing happy faces feasting and catching up till late. Cheerful , warm voices filling the walls of the house on that day. Feels “nice” . It gives me something to look out for on that special day. It makes that day an extra bit more “special” to me. This year my gates won’t be open. But the house will still be decked and food would definitely be cooked and packed ready to be shared with close relatives n family friends.. from my mother and me. We would like to wish everyone of you “Selamat Hari Raya. Maaf zahir Dan Batin.. and always stay safe.” Today I cooking “Daging Deng Deng” •

【#迷上英式英文】英國首相Bojo復出後首次演說:I ask you to contain your impatience
演說全文:
Good morning.
I am sorry I have been away from my desk for much longer than I would have liked, and I want to thank everybody who has stepped up, in particular the First Secretary of State Dominic Raab, who has done a terrific job.
But once again I want to thank you, the people of this country for the sheer grit and guts you have shown and are continuing to show. Every day I know that this virus brings new sadness and mourning to households across the land, and it is still true that this is the biggest single challenge this country has faced since the war.
And I in no way minimise the continuing problems we face, and yet it is also true that we are making progress, with fewer hospital admissions, fewer covid patients in ICU, and real signs now that we are passing through the peak.
And thanks to your forbearance, your good sense, your altruism, your spirit of community, thanks to our collective national resolve, we are on the brink of achieving that first clear mission to prevent our national health service from being overwhelmed in a way that tragically we have seen elsewhere. And that is how and why we are now beginning to turn the tide.
If this virus were a physical assailant, an unexpected and invisible mugger, which I can tell you from personal experience it is, then this is the moment when we have begun together to wrestle it to the floor.
And so it follows that this is the moment of opportunity. This is the moment when we can press home our advantage. It is also the moment of maximum risk because I know that there will be many people looking now at our apparent success and beginning to wonder whether now is the time to go easy on those social distancing measures.
And I know how hard and how stressful it has been to give up, even temporarily, those ancient and basic freedoms - not seeing friends, not seeing loved ones, working from home, managing the kids, worrying about your job and your firm.
So let me say directly also to British business, to the shopkeepers, to the entrepreneurs, to the hospitality sector, to everyone on whom our economy depends-
I understand your impatience.
I share your anxiety.
And I know that without our private sector, without the drive and commitment of the wealth creators of this country, there will be no economy to speak of. There will be no cash to pay for our public services, no way of funding our NHS, and yes I can see the long term consequences of lock down as clearly as anyone, and so yes I entirely share your urgency.
It’s the government’s urgency.
And yet we must also recognise the risk of a second spike, the risk of losing control of that virus, and letting the reproduction rate go back over one, because that would mean not only a new wave of death and disease but also an economic disaster, and we would be forced once again to slam on the brakes across the whole country, and the whole economy, and reimpose restrictions in such a way as to do more and lasting damage.
And so I know it is tough, and I want to get this economy moving as fast as I can, but I refuse to throw away all the effort and the sacrifice of the British people, and to risk a second major outbreak and huge loss of life and the overwhelming of the NHS.
And I ask you to contain your impatience because I believe we are coming now to the end of the first phase of this conflict.
And in spite of all the suffering we have so nearly succeeded, we defied so many predictions, we did not run out of ventilators or ICU beds, we did not allow our NHS to collapse, and on the contrary we have so far collectively shielded our NHS so that our incredible doctors and nurses and healthcare staff have been able to shield all of us from an outbreak that would have been far worse.
And we collectively flattened the peak, and so when we are sure that this first phase is over, and that we are meeting our five tests, deaths falling, NHS protected, rate of infection down, really sorting out the challenges of testing and PPE, avoiding a second peak, then that will be the time to move on to the second phase, in which we continue to suppress the disease, and keep the reproduction rate, the r rate, down, but begin gradually to refine the economic and social restrictions, and one by one to fire up the engines of this vast UK economy, and in that process difficult judgments will be made.
And we simply cannot spell out now how fast or slow or even when those changes will be made, though clearly the government will be saying much more about this in the coming days.
And I want to serve notice now that these decisions will be taken with the maximum possible transparency.
And I want to share all our working and our thinking, my thinking, with you the British people, and of course, we will be relying as ever on the science to inform us, as we have from the beginning.
But we will also be reaching out to build the biggest possible consensus, across business, across industry, across all parts of our United Kingdom, across party lines, bringing in opposition parties as far as we possibly can, because I think that is no less than what the British people would expect.
And I can tell you now that preparations are under way, and have been for weeks to allow us to win phase two of this fight as I believe we are now on track to prevail in phase one.
And so I say to you finally if you can keep going in the way that you have kept going so far, if you can help protect our NHS, to save lives, and if we as a country can show the same spirit of optimism and energy shown by Captain Tom Moore, who turns 100 this week, if we can show the same spirit of unity and determination as we have all shown in the past six weeks, then I have absolutely no doubt that we will beat it together.
We will come through this all the faster.
And the United Kingdom will emerge stronger than ever before.
Thank you very much.

Shaquille O'Neal, the man with four rings, 28,596 career points and scores of nicknames, has finally decided to call it quits, ending one of the most colorful careers in NBA history that will surely culminate with a Hall of Fame induction.
O'Neal, 39, officially announced his retirement Wednesday using the new social media tool Tout, a real-time video messaging service.
"Once a businesman, always a businessman," O'Neal said, smiling. "I am the emperor of the social media network. Why text when you can Tout?"
O'Neal signed a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics last summer but a persistent Achilles injury will prevent him from fulfilling the terms of the deal. O'Neal first injured his right Achilles on Christmas Day and was able to play only in two of the final 35 games of the regular season.
On April 3 against Detroit, O'Neal returned to the court after a two-month absence and scored six points in a spirited 5 minutes and 29 seconds before coming up lame and limping off the floor. Although his injury was listed as a strained calf, O'Neal said it was the Achilles flaring up again.
"I felt like someone had shot me in the back of my leg," he said.
O'Neal did not play again in the regular season. He sat out the New York Knicks playoff series then tried to return in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against his old team, the Miami Heat. O'Neal logged 8 1/2 minutes in the 97-81 victory but woke up in considerable pain the next morning. His final game was two days later, when he toiled for three minutes of Game 4 before Celtics coach Doc Rivers pulled him for good.
In the final weeks of the the playoffs, O'Neal, over the objections of team physician Brian McKeon, had "more than five" cortisone shots in his Achilles in an attempt to play against the Heat.
"Doc (McKeon) kept telling me, 'No, no,' but I wanted to play so badly," O'Neal said. "My feeling was, 'If it ruptures, it ruptures.' The Celtics were so good to me I wanted to do everything I could to get back on the court for them."
Throughout his time on the sideline, Shaq said, he continued to do rehab as well as work on the treadmill and the exercise bike. He swam each evening at the Thoreau Club in Concord and shot a number of late-night free throws in at the Lincoln-Sudbury High School gymnasium across the street from his rented Sudbury home. He lost 35 pounds and was "feeling great everywhere except for that one little spot behind my heel."
Shaq said McKeon recommended surgery that would "clean up" the area around the Achilles, but O'Neal revealed the recovery time would be close to nine months.
"I really, really thought about coming back," he said, "but this Achilles is very damaged and if I had it done the recovery would be so long we'd have same outcome as this last year -- everyone sitting around and waiting for me.
"I didn't want to let people down two years in a row. I didn't want to hold Boston hostage again.
"I'm letting everybody know now so Danny (Ainge) and the organization can try to get younger talent. I would love to come back, but they say once the Achilles is damaged it's never the same. I don't want to take that chance."
O'Neal said his final months in Boston included some of the darkest days of his career because "I just hated to let the city of Boston down. I really grew to love the place. Everyone was so welcoming to me and treated me so great. They believed in me and they took care of me, especially the great people of Sudbury. I love that town."
O'Neal also had effusive praise for Rivers, whom, he said, was "one of the best I ever played for."
"I thought Doc was fabulous," O'Neal said. "He stressed 'team' all the time, never wavered on that. He kept everyone together. He's an amazing coach. I want to congratulate him on his five years (extension).
"He deserves it. He loves the organization, loves the players, and we all love him back."
O'Neal is acutely aware the Celtics posted a record of 21-4 when he was able to play 20 or more minutes this season. The chemistry he shared with the Big Three (Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen) and Rajon Rondo, he said, will be an enduring memory, leaving him to wonder what would have happened had he stayed healthy.
"We were supposed to win this year but 'supposed' doesn't count," he said. "The path was there for us. All the so-called super powers were gone -- LA, San Antonio. I really feel if I was on the court we would have done it, but I don't believe in 'ifs.' "
O'Neal said he wasn't prepared yet to reminisce about his long and prolific career, which produced three championships with the Lakers and one with the Heat. "Let's save that for the press conference on Friday," said O'Neal, who will hold that media event at his Isleworth home.
