What you carry inside your mind, you unconsciously project to the outside. Positive or negative.
The goal is not to change what we feel, but to become AWARE of our own projections onto our surroundings. Think of your surroundings as a mirror🪞 what do you see?
Judgements are like a personal opinion, limited information which we filter & process through our own state of mind (including experiences, traumas, hopes & fears) . Te earlier we realize that, the earlier we will be able to accept people and things for what they actually are.
The more we are familiar with our own psychology,
the more we will understand others.
The more we know how to love ourselves,
the more we will be able to love others.

💐How to Stop the Negative Chatter in Your Head
🧸Did you make your New Year’s resolutions? I hope you put “cognitive reappraisal” on the list. Psychologists use this term to refer to the practice of replacing negative thoughts with ones that are both more positive and true. People who control their self-talk in this manner have better mental health, more life satisfaction, and even better-functioning hearts, research shows. Experts say the technique, which is central to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is an important skill to master during difficult times. The good news is that you can do it at home.

🌞Ethan Kross is an experimental psychologist and neuroscientist who specializes in emotion regulation. He is a professor of psychology and management at the University of Michigan and director of the Emotion & Self Control Laboratory, where he studies the science of introspection, or the silent conversations people have with themselves. He has a new book coming out this month called “Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why it Matters, and How to Harness It.”
今年1月,他的新書《碎碎念:腦中的聲音、它的重要性以及如何掌控它》(Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why it Matters, and How to Harness It)出版。
-specialize in sth: 精通某事
🍀Does everyone talk to themselves?
Dr. Kross: Yes. There are lots of ways we use language internally. We use it to keep things fresh in our heads, like repeating a phone number. We try to simulate what we are planning to say, like when we go on an interview or a date. We talk to ourselves when we’re trying to or when we are trying to solve a problem. When we are doing something difficult, we mentally walk ourselves through the steps we need to take. Self-talk helps us to author the stories of our life, to capture stories that explain what we have gone through. Even if our self-talk is negative, that doesn’t always mean it’s bad. We can learn things from painful experiences that help us grow and improve.

1:00 To find out whether it works we have to compare it to a benchmark. Okay, so the benchmark that we will compare against is the S&P 500. So we can see that historically S&P does about an average of 9-10% a year with a maximum drawdown of 55%. So there are two ways, right, we can so-called beat the benchmark.
1:30 To find out whether we can beat the market is we are going to go with a simple strategy. In this strategy, that I choose right, it's a momentum strategy. Okay, so basically, it looks to buy high and sell higher. Momentum. So these are the rules of the momentum trading strategy.
4:00 Clearly, technical analysis work. So yes, technical analysis work, but I want you to think about something alright. Is that all you need? For all to answer is no and here's why. Number one. Risk management.
5:30 The second thing, psychology. Why do I say that? Because imagine this. Imagine at this point in time, right, over here, 2002, alright, in May you are down 3.9%. You might think, "Oh, it's nothing right. I can survive. No use, it's only 4%. Come on. Gorilla two is here. Then you're down another 0.5% in June and by a scratch, right? I can do this.
6:00 Let's do a quick recap, right. Number one, yes technical analysis it can work. Right, I just shared with you a very simple momentum strategy that actually beats the market over the last 28 years. Very simple strategy. Even, you know, a 13- or 14- year old kid can understand. But I shared with you that if you don't apply proper risk management, if you're over-leveraged, if you are risking too much per trade, right you will not survive the drawdown. That's a fact.
7:00 Another thing is the psychology, right. You can have the best trading strategy in the world, but if you can not handle the emotional drawdown that comes with it, you can not handle the losses, right, the negative punches that the market is giving you, even a trading strategy with an edge right will not save you as well. So I hope by now you can understand that yes, right, technical analysis can work by in itself without fundamentals, without analysis, without anything. But you must have the proper risk management and the right training psychology. Okay?
8:00 So with that said, right, I've come towards the end of this video. Even a little more about what I do, training strategies, and techniques right. Go down to my website over here: tradingwithrayner.com. Okay and if you just scroll down to the bottom right somewhere here. I've got a couple of trading books that you can download, right, The Ultimate Trend Following Guide to Right Massive Trends in the Market and The Ultimate Guide To Price Action Trading. So what we have covered a little is more of a trend following at momentum trading.
10:00 So if you are more of a discretionary trader, right, you know more about market structures and support resistance than The Ultimate Guide To Price Action Trading is for you. Click on this blue button and I'll send it to your inbox.
So with that said, right, I've come towards the end of this video any feedback comment. Let me know it in the comment section below and if you've enjoyed this video hit the like button! Bam Bam! Hey guys! This is the final film I made during my semester in NYU and I finally got the chance to re-edit it. I'm really excited to share it with ya'll cos this was the only one shot in colour and has sound. I love love love love love filmmaking and I think this represents who I am and what I want to explore (in terms of themes and style) as a filmmaker. I've added extra info down below if you'd like to get better acquainted with it. Enjoy!
» Synopsis
A couple, Sophie and Robert, have just suffered the unexpected death of their son. Inspired by the play Rabbit Hole, the short film tracks Sophie's trajectory of grief and mourning through the framework of the Kübler-Ross model.
» Concept
The Kübler-Ross model, otherwise known as the five stages of grief, postulates a series of emotions experienced by terminally ill patients prior to death, or people presented by the loss of a loved one, wherein the five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
We shot this film mostly handheld, with tracking shots, and almost always cropped, framed or filled with negative space. I’d like for the audience to be as engaged and uncomfortable at the same time, reminding them that this is never an easy process- even to witness it is a chore. My key details lie in the visceral nature of the close ups and eye contact.
For the first few stages, a warped sense of time and space will reflect her depression and inability to tune in to reality, so shots will be choppy, slightly unstable and cyclical to emphasise the feeling of suffocation and entrapment. As the film progresses, it will taper into coherence and continuity.
Off-screen ambient sounds such as water, fire and space add in its amplification. The seamless mismatch of the soundscape was something I set out to experiment on.
Produced for NYU Sight and Sound Filmmaking Fall 2017
