nutritional value of meat 在 Foodeverywhere Facebook 的最佳貼文
When posting on veganism, it is mostly because I have great interests in the study of the nutritional value of vegan diet. And that there is a huge lack of understanding in vegan diet that is essentially helpful in eating healthier which is obviously understated. To me, eating healthy is not about complying to any specific diet group and that it is more important to know which diet group fits your body and routine for that will be more effective in staying healthy for both the mind and the body.
There is no right or wrong type of diet, or one that works or not work for anyone. There's only the best diet that fits any individual if one is able to achieve a good understanding of their own wellbeing when it comes to food intake. Of course, certain diet like vegetarian and veganism might include underlying causes or associated philosophy of perhaps religion or commodity status of animals. But whichever diet practice should be fully understood and paired carefully with our daily activities.
I am a fan of vegan diet, but I have never and will not judge meat eaters for the fact that there is no one best diet or the most perfect diet that fits all. Because everyone would have an ideal diet that works for them, it is more important to know your food intake and keep up with the progress of nutritional studies so we can provide the best to our our body and remain a good health. I crave sashimi every now and then too but knowing and understanding your food intake will be helpful in adjusting your food intake accordingly. I am careful with what I eat but there's a good measure and moderation that applies.
Ultimately I want everyone to know that learning facts on food or diet type as well as understanding how it works on your body is what is utmost crucial and important in staying healthy. As someone who is working around food all the time, I try to showcase as much and as realistic as possible to how medias would broadcast food as part of their marketing, so readers and audience will be reminded to be extra careful when it comes to what to put in your body.
Here's an interesting read of stories from 8 celebrities who have given up being vegan.

Is drinking soup becoming a means to healthy living in both East and West worlds?
( T: Tiffany Shek, Registered Dietitian, C: Cinci EC, Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner)
T: When talking about drinking soup, many people will think of Chinese herbal soup. Actually, “souping” has become a popular weight loss method in western countries in recent years, wherein only soup is consumed for a few days for “detox” purposes. This diet is different from “juice cleanse” as soup retains dietary fiber of ingredients, which in turn increases satiety. Other benefits of including fibre are slower nutrient absorption and elevation of blood sugar.
But remember “souping” is different from drinking Chinese herbal soup as they serve different purposes. Having herbal soup is to enhance one’s wellbeing but not for weight loss per se. A balanced diet is recommended in addition to consumption of Chinese herbal soup. Prolonged “souping” is not recommended, as it may lack certain certain essential nutrients obtainable from a balanced diet.
Also, most people think that the liquid in soup contains all the nutritional essence thus that is all they consume. But from a nutritional perspective, the actual ingredients in the soup contain the highest nutritional value. Take meat-based soup for example, most protein remains within the meat, even after prolonged cooking. Therefore, for adequate protein intake, soup ingredients should be consumed along with the soup.
C: A bowl of soup might sound simple but it can contain healthy living essence passed on from ancient Chinese medicine theories, and it is also a reflection of love and care from the person who made it. A delicious bowl of soup can condition the body if consumed based on the body type with appropriate ingredients. Many people still having the mindset that the soup should be tonic to have any healthy effects. In fact, a mild natured soup that compliments the body type and is made with fresh ingredients is good enough to nourish the body and mind. Compared to taking medicine, Chinese medicine is more concerned about preventative healthcare. The most important thing is to improve diet and living habits. Drinking soup according to body type is a simple and convenient method to supplement your diet and prevent common urban ailments and improve your immunity.

Mouth-watering plate of fried rice loaded with all your favourite mix-ins huddled under that luscious soft yellow egg blanket, this delightfully simple combination of egg and ketchup rice topped with rich brown sauce serves as the perfect comfort food on any lazy days.
As majority of nutrients are found in the rice kernels, the nutritional value in white rice tends to be pale in comparison to brown rice. Rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, brown rice is highly recommended for those watching their weight, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Get more “Me Time” while enjoying these grains of immunity-boosting nutrients with Kinmemai Better Brown Rice. As a result of their revolutionary rice polishing technology, you can now enjoy these fluffy brown grains with no rinsing required!
With half the battle won, we kept our version of fried rice minimalistic with onions, chicken, carrots and green peas. This popular Japanese culinary staple is best made using day-old rice that has been refrigerated overnight. Remember to stir in every bit of ketchup to ensure each grain is coated with that sweet, red tanginess.
To achieve that rich creamy omelet, whisk the slightly scrambled eggs before pouring back into the pan and fold. Gently slide that beautiful egg pouch onto the rice and carefully slice open to uncover that custardy yellow finish. Complete your dish with demi-glace sauce or try other variations such as cheese or curry!

Cincalok omelette is one of those delightful Nyonya dishes that risks becoming forgotten in our modern day lives because it's so humble and simple. But, as they say, simple and good is quite often the hardest balance to achieve!
Unlike its other Nyonya relatives, this rather decadent omelette is found in many a Peranakan restaurant menu, relatively hidden away compared to its celebrated street food cousins.
Cincalok are tiny fermented shrimp that are brined in salt and used to season the eggs. Also better known as krill, these underrated crustaceans are found in abundance in the sea, a favourite staple of whales, penguins and seals that hunt them for their excellent nutritional value. They carry more antioxidants than fish, are low in fat and are a rich source of omega-3. They're also part of the secret to the crunchy texture that makes this egg dish so special. ;)
Our recipe uses five hen's eggs and a perfect combination of select ingredients to achieve those fluffy pockets and an even texture that you can savour with every bite. Best paired with rice or porridge and your choice of meat dish from our recipe collection, this dish is a great mini celebration of all things worth preserving in our community.
