The recently-introduced 'Dior Caro' bag reprises its role as a contemporary House icon for Spring-Summer 2021 on.dior.com/ss21 by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Quilted with the signature Cannage motif, and featuring a distinctive 'CD' twist clasp and adjustable chain strap, the original leather styles are joined by striking new variations that colorfully capture the mood of the season with artisanal techniques, from the soft stripes of the 'Tie & Dior' effect to the sepia-toned 'Dior Jardin' motif on denim. Some of the garments from the collection are made from Endek Bali Indonesia whose precious savoir-faire is exclusively perpetuated through exceptional craftsmanship. Additionally, elements of some of the handbags, made in Italy, are also embellished with traditional Endek Bali Indonesia motifs.

The iconic Breton stripe shirt was first introduce in the 1858 as the official uniform for the French navy in northern France, once the naval seamen were required to wear striped garments, the look was quickly favoured by fishermen too, for its ease and simplicity.

The original design featured 21 stripes, one for each of Napoleon Bonaparte’s victories and distinctive stripes made it easier to spot wayward sailors who had fallen overboard.
