The World Bank has ranked Singapore at the top of the inaugural edition of the Human Capital Index, out of 157 economies. We can be proud of what we have achieved, but we have not arrived.
We got here because we believe in maximising our people’s potential and abilities, and sharing the benefits of our progress widely among all. This includes making sound, and sometimes tough, decisions on social, education, and healthcare policies. As our economy and aspirations of Singaporeans evolve, we are updating policies so that lives continue to improve and we can progress together.
