✨Did you know that every month the U.S. Department of State’s Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau hosts a #MentorTalks session where alumni share their experiences? This Friday’s episode will feature renowned archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, who has been excavating, preserving, and protecting Egyptian heritage and human history for the past 30 years. Dr. Hawass will be talking about his latest project, an upcoming art exhibition entitled “Forever is Now” - the first international art exhibition to take place at the Giza Pyramids and the surrounding plateau, run by Art D’Egypte, with support from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. 【4K HDR】台中多元化且創新的文化部文化資產園區 Cultural Heritage Park │ ​Virtual Taiwan │Taichung Walk

文化部文化資產園區是位於臺灣臺中市南區的文化園區，佔地5.6公頃。1914年創立的民營酒廠「赤司製酒場」為此地最初前身，1947年後轉為台中酒廠。2002年行政院文化建設委員會接收後，初期定位為文創園區，目前是台灣唯一公辦公營的文資園區，文化部文化資產局亦設於此。

一年一度美國職棒大聯盟紐約大都會台灣日登場，駐美代表 蕭美琴 Bi-khim Hsiao擔任開球嘉賓，在大都會的主場花旗球場的投手丘上，投出象徵台美友好的一球，是16屆大都會台灣日以來，首位獲邀的駐美代表。

球場的大螢幕上也播放 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-wen總統的影片，向在場球迷介紹台灣在東京奧運表現的亮眼成績，更感謝美國政府與人民捐贈台灣COVID-19疫苗。

大都會台灣日是大聯盟30支球隊歷史最悠久、規模最大的台灣文化慶典活動，而今天這場比賽Mets也順利以９：４贏得勝利，讓紐約的台灣人齊聚一堂感受台灣日的魅力，謝謝活動主辦單位與所有外交團隊的努力，再一次讓世界看見台灣，Let’s Go Mets, Let’s Go Taiwan！

Katherine, @Prozzie and I explore the Second Taichung Market in search of some very unique and traditional Taiwanese soup. We later head over to a jade market, and then rent boats and explore the lake in Taichung park. Just a nice Saturday. In the process, we're happy to see that there are still so much old traditional areas in Taiwan.

Every year, Mazu (the patron goddess of seafarers) sets off on a pilgrimage from her home at Zhenlan Temple in Taichung’s Dajia District. This is the biggest Mazu pilgrimage in Taiwan in terms of the number of official participating brigades, or processional teams. It also has the largest number of followers who spontaneously join the procession along the way. The route of the nine-day, eight-night procession follows the path of early immigrants as they spread out across Taiwan. Apart from revisiting historical paths, the procession also strengthens the faith of local believers and helps them gain a deeper understanding of the significant cultural value behind this event. This ancient and elaborate sacrificial rite is a precious cultural asset. In recent years, the scale of the event has grown, becoming a classic example of how folk religion evolves in response to societal changes. In recent years, Dajia’s Mazu Pilgrimage has been named one of the world’s three biggest religious festivals by the Discovery Channel, and UNESCO has included Mazu beliefs and customs on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
