There is a number a paper offering stores near Queen's Road West, Sai Ying Pun 西營盤皇后大道西. Every year before the Mid-Autumn festival, the street becomes a Lantern Street! One thing we found disappointing is that the quality of the handmade lantern dropped. Swipe to see the last 2 photos, those are the rabbit and goldfish lanterns we found 4 years ago.
Don’t forget to check out 卓越食品餅店, which is right opposite to these Lantern shop for the Piggy biscuit #豬籠餅 #豬仔餅, which was once a very popular Mid-autumn festival snack!
Bakers used to bake a small portion of mooncake dough to test the temperature of the oven. To sell off leftover mooncake dough, bakers make it into the shape of piggy, goldfish, and sold them in tiny colourful pig cages.
Mid Autumn festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month (falls on 21st September, 2021 in western calendar). On this full moon (which symbolizes family reunion) night, family members gather to eat mooncakes, play lanterns and enjoy the moon.

Check out the super instagrammable corner in Tai Kiu market in Yuen Long (元朗大橋街市), where you can still get traditional Lanterns handmade and design in Hong Kong.
If possible visit the market on a weekday because many visit here on weekends for photos. (According to what I see online…. There were so many people even on a weekday…)
If you plan to get something more traditional, check out the paper Jade rabbit, who lives in Moon Palace with the moon lady 嫦娥. Or the lantern made with cellophane papers. I will go for star fruit!

昨年オープンの人気家系ラーメン店にマコが初訪問！神奈川県高座郡寒川町『天王家寒川総本店』にお邪魔しました。寒川駅から約1.4km、お店にはお店専用の駐車場が完備されています。2020年7月にオープンされたお店で、いつ伺ってもお客さんが途切れずに入店されている地元で人気の家系ラーメン店です。チャーシューの美味しさに定評があり、人気のチャーシューメンは売り切れていることが多いほど。気になる方はお早めの来店をオススメします。それでは早速動画をご覧ください！

Mako visits a popular Iekei ramen shop that opened last year for the first time! I visited "Samukawa Sohonten" in Samukawa-cho, Koza-gun, Kanagawa. Approximately 1.4km from Samukawa Station, the store has its own parking lot. Opened in July 2020, it is a popular local ramen shop where customers can enter without interruption whenever they visit. It has a good reputation for the deliciousness of char siu, and the popular char siu men are often sold out. If you are interested, we recommend you to come to the store as soon as possible. 魚津の家系ラーメン直系店、初インタビュー！富山県魚津市『はじめ家』に伺ってきました。前回の訪問の際、店主の小沢さんが駅まで送ってくださった車中でいろいろお話を伺いました。今回は改めて時間を作ってくださり、家系ラーメンや吉村実社長との出会い、修行時代のお話、ラーメンへの考え方など、これまで公にされなかった貴重なお話を伺うことができました。直系店の店主さんのインタビューは今回が初となります。ぜひご覧下さい！
・『はじめ家』について横浜にある『家系ラーメン総本山吉村家』の創始者であり「ラーメン界のレジェンド」とも言われる吉村実氏の許しを直接得た直系店。【北陸の虎】の異名を持つ。昨今の家系ブームに乗って多くの家系ラーメン店が乱立するなか【総本山直系店】を名乗れるのは全国に10店舗(吉村家を含む)しかなく、富山県内のみならず週末になると近県や遠く関東からもその味を求める人が訪れる人気店である。

First interview with Uozu's iekei ramen shop! I visited "Hajimeya" in Uozu City, Toyama Prefecture. During my last visit, I heard a lot of stories in the car that sent me to the station, but this time the owner, Mr. Ozawa, made time to continue the story!
I was able to hear valuable stories that had not been made public until now, such as the encounter with Iekei Ramen and President Minoru Yoshimura, the story of the training era, and the thoughts on ramen.
・ About "Hajimeya" A direct line shop that directly obtained the permission of Mr. Minoru Yoshimura, the founder of "Yoshimuraya, the head iekei of ramen" in Yokohama and also known as "the legend of the ramen world", and was nicknamed "Hokuriku Tiger". Have. While many Iekei ramen shops are crowded due to the recent boom in Iekei, there are only 10 shops (including Yoshimura-ya) nationwide that can call themselves [Sohonzan direct line shop], and the taste is not only in Toyama prefecture but also from nearby prefectures and far Kanto on weekends. It is a popular shop where people who want to eat are lined up.
