Once upon a time on Orient Express, the feel of traveling back to the past..

Since i saw this train on the movie it’s always on my dream to see this train in real life and perhaps have a chance to ride this train in the future..
While we keep on dreaming to experience this train in real life now you can enjoy this special pop up attraction by @orientexpressexhibition

A project that has been many years in the making, and further complicated with the ongoing pandemic, the pop-attraction has come to fruition and we are excited to be bringing you a fairy-tale universe related to travel, culture and gastronomy, a historical and educational showcase for all ages. With some of the exhibition’s most extraordinary objects and documents on display, these precious artefacts will showcase centuries old of history that immortalises the legacy of the train, allowing you to uncover events that transformed the world, and shaped the map.

First look at Festival of Lights 2020 which opens today at Jurong Lake Gardens! Take a night stroll the gardens and see 28 sets of large lantern displays with themes including animals, countries, Zodiac and Christmas.

There are two main zones:

‘It’s a Small World’ features lantern displays of iconic landmarks unique to different countries around the world. Can’t travel see lanterns also not bad lah. 😅 This area is at Lakeside Field, which is nearest to the North Carpark.

‘Lucky Zodiac’ is located nearer to South Carpark, which features lantern displays of the 12 horoscopes.

For more details, refer to the map in the final image. Admission is FREE and no pre-booking is required! But do note that even if prior booking isn’t required, NParks staff onsite may implement staggered entry if there is overcrowding.

หาดสีดำไม่กี่แห่งในโลก อยู่ไม่ไกล เมืองไทยนี่เอง!

หาดทรายสีดำ หรือที่หลายคนเรียกว่า ทะเลสีดำ แห่งนี้ ไม่ได้อยู่ไกลถึงต่างประเทศ แบบที่ Iceland แต่อยู่ที่ เขาหลัก อ.ตะกั่วป่า จ.พังงา ของไทยเรานี่เอง หาดแห่งนี้มีชื่อว่า “หาดนางทอง” หนึ่งในหาดทรายสีดำไม่กี่แห่งที่พบได้ในไทยและในโลก วันนี้เราจะพาไปชมและบอกทริคช่วงเวลาที่สามารถพบทรายสีดำได้เยอะๆกัน ไปกันเลยครับ

ชาวบ้านในแถบนั้นเล่าว่า หาดทรายสีดำแห่งนี้มีมานานแล้ว แต่ไม่ได้เป็นที่รู้จักมากนักในหมู่นักท่องเที่ยว จะมีก็แต่ชาวต่างชาติที่มาประจำหรือคนท้องถิ่นเท่านั้นถึงจะรู้

ทรายสีดำ ความจริงคือขี้แร่ที่เกิดจากการร่อนแร่เมื่อสมัยก่อน แสดงให้เห็นถึงความสมบูรณ์ของ พังงา ซึ่งเป็นจังหวัดที่มีอุตสาหกรรมการทำแร่ดีบุกเยอะที่สุดในเมืองไทยเลยก็ว่าได้ ในการร่อนแร่นั้น แร่ที่มีน้ำหนักมากกว่าก็จะติดอยู่ในที่ร่อน ส่วนแร่ที่ละเอียดก็จะหลุดออกมาเป็นขี้แร่ ตกทิ้งลงในทะเล จึงทำให้เกิดเป็นหาดทรายสีดำอย่างที่เห็น

ในแต่ละวัน น้ำขึ้นน้ำลงจะซัดขี้แร่สีดำเหล่านี้มาขึ้นฝั่ง หาดนางทอง และจะขึ้นมามากน้อยแตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละช่วงเวลา โดยเวลาที่ผมคิดว่าจะสามารถพบทรายสีดำได้มากที่สุดน่าจะเป็นช่วงหลังน้ำกำลังลงใหม่ๆ เพราะคลื่นได้ดันทรายสีดำขึ้นมาจนสุดแล้ว ในวันที่ผมบันทึกภาพ เป็นเวลาราว 1-2 ชั่วโมงหลังจากน้ำขึ้นสูงสุดครับ

การเดินทางนั้นไม่ยากเลย หากเดินทางจากสนามบินภูเก็ต ก็ใช้เวลาเพียง 1 ชั่วโมงเท่านั้น โดยเราสามารถตั้งค้นหาใน Google Map ได้เลยว่า หาดนางทอง หรือจะใช้ลิงค์ข้างล่างก็ได้ครับ

จากจุดของหาดทรายสีดำแห่งนี้ หากมองไปทางซ้าย เราก็จะสามารถเห็น ประภาคารเขาหลัก ที่สร้างขึ้นหลังจากเหตุการณ์ สึนามิ ที่สร้างความเสียหายเป็นอย่างมากในปี 2547 อีกด้วย เรียกได้ว่ามาที่เดียวได้เที่ยวชมทั้งหาดและประภาคารเลยครับ

หาดแห่งนี้ ไม่ได้เป็นสีดำทั้งหาด และไม่ได้มีทรายสีดำเยอะตลอดเวลา ต้องหาเวลาน้ำขึ้นลงจาก App แล้วลองไปลุ้นดูว่าจะโชคดีได้พบหาดสีดำหรือเปล่า ช่วงนี้คนยังน้อยอยู่ มีความเป็นส่วนตัวสูง สามารถถ่ายรูปเล่นได้สบายๆ มีโอกาสอย่าลืมไปหาดสีดำสุด unseen แห่งนี้กันนะครับ

A few black beaches in the world are not far from Thailand!
