第一次聽Point Nepean這個名字，是剛到Melbourne沒多久的時候，在這裡讀書的朋友介紹的，他說那兒是個行山的好地方，我這麼喜歡行山(其實我是為了風景，沒有景的山我不會行的)，肯定適合我。

用Google Map一看，牌面上Point Nepean的地理位置的確很吸引我，位於Melbourne以南，Port Philip Bay的南端的一角，再加上其海軍基地的歷史，的確是無得輸，一個集行山、海景、軍事於一身的地方，距離市中心只是90公里，重點是我沒有車，也沒有朋友開車一起去，單人匹馬去行山，這裡的確是個好選擇。

90公里說長不長，說短不短，這個距離其實足夠由香港一路向西直達東莞，但在澳洲，出名的景點動輒距離市中心過百公里。當然，這90公里，又要坐火車，又要坐巴士，也要花3小時才可以由市區到達，不過在香港我早已習慣，反正從家裡到長洲也要3個小時。

由市區坐火車到Frankston (Frankston Line的總站)要1個多小時，在那兒轉巴士到Point Nepean國家公園的門口要1小時45分鐘，算起來就是3個小時，而沿途風光就是看著海邊，因為火車和巴士都是沿岸而行，所以都算是未出發，先興奮吧。

別人常說澳洲有三大特產──醉酒佬、肥婆、蒼蠅，到了這一刻我只明白前兩者(市區肥人沒那麼多，偏遠地區反而多肥人)，今天我終於知道為什麼蒼蠅也是這裡的特產了──未行夠5分鐘，每一刻已有5至6隻蒼蠅在頭上飛來飛去，呀對了，今天我合共要行6小時，我想我全程遇到過萬隻蒼蠅也絕無誇大成分。

雖然如此，蒼蠅的滋擾無阻我遊山玩水的決心，當到達了第一個景點檢疫站的時候，你的雙眼根本不會再管有幾多東西阻撓你前進。慢著！檢疫站？這不是軍事重地兼行山看海好去處嗎？是咁的，在1852年，Point Nepean被選為檢疫站，原因也是出於其地理位置，當時只有船隻可以到達，而隨著第一艘載有數百名病人的船靠岸，檢疫站的工作正式開始，後來這裡還建有幾座建築物，以作分隔健康人士和病人之用，也因為這樣，在這一區，顯然是一個建築群。

因為我對歷史不感太大興趣，還是周圍的海景和山景比較適合我。在檢疫站那裡，其實也是Point Nepean國家公園的遊客中心和小賣部所在之處，不過在這裡順帶一提，整個國家公園都沒有熟食售賣，建議出發前準備多些飲料和乾糧，不然走到半路也沒有補給了。說回正題，由檢疫站前往國家公園的盡頭Fort Nepean，有3條路可以選擇，喜歡看海的我當然是選擇沿岸的Bay Track吧，另外兩條也是陸地路線，一條是車路Defence Road，另一條則與Bay Track平行的Coles Track。不用說，走最近岸的路線永遠是最划算的，而Defence Road則是沒什麼好看，回程時趕路就最適合不過了。

由於土地侵蝕的緣故，Bay Track的盡頭是沒有路可以返回山上的，行山人士必須於Observation Point前上山。當然，海景雖然美麗，不過其實整條Bay Track也是這樣的風景，沙灘與海，海天一色，基本上可以形容了整段路程，我想唯一最引人入勝的地方，就是在轉角的Observation Point了。沒什麼特別，僅僅是一堆被廢棄的木頭和樹枝，在藍天下，這南緯三十幾度的溫帶地區卻帶了點熱帶小島的氣息，很少「出樣」的我，最後都是拍了幾張「出樣」照。

沿路直上，路還是相當好走，雖說是行山，這裡的大路Defence Road基本上都是鋪好了石屎，主要原因是給這裡的穿梭巴士行走，乘巴士的話當然少了很多滋擾，而且雙腿也輕鬆得多，由檢疫站一路行到Fort Nepean，正常速度也要個半小時，坐巴士就不用了，只要你肯付澳幣10元正──只是巴士走不了Bay Track和Coles Track。一路前行，在烈日當空之下，雙手沒有任何閒暇去遮擋太陽，卻只能像水撥一樣不斷地把蒼蠅趕走。小弟尚算幸運，行了不算很久，迎面而來的行山人士把他們所摘下的一棵草送了給我，哈哈，這樣我就省回了一隻手了。
