八零年代經典卡通《太空超人》（He-Man and the Masters of the Universe）的全新續
集《太空超人：啟示錄》（Masters of the Universe：Revelation）的上半季，日前終
於在萬眾粉絲期待下登上 Netflix 平台，然而這部續集播出之後，卻遭到海量負評攻擊
，觀眾真正想看的 He-Man 戲份居然少得可憐，泰拉則反而被捧為主角，被懷疑是掛羊頭
賣狗肉。這樣的作法、以及劇中諸多的橋段設計，也都被不少觀眾認為是政治正確操作過
頭。
《太空超人：啟示錄》目前於西方各大影視評分網站同樣被大批不滿粉絲刷低分，情況相
當慘烈。儘管面對如此巨大的反彈，身為編劇和製作人之一的喜劇名導凱文史密斯（
Kevin Smith）日前在接受《綜藝》（Variety）雜誌專訪時，仍無意平息外界的憤怒。

凱文史密斯首先坦言，小時候的他其實並不是《太空超人》的粉絲：「我幾乎可以說很討
厭看《太空超人》，因為我覺得這節目根本是給小嬰兒看的。這裡面有史上最屌的反派骷
髏王，造型超殺，但他們在節目裡根本沒有真正打鬥過，就只是在翻筋斗而已，沒有人被
紮紮實實地捅一刀過，但那畢竟是八零年代，電視上演什麼你就看什麼。」
雖然美泰兒公司同意將《太空超人》增添更殘酷的調性，但史密斯也自嘲他不是一個有很
多原創點子的人，因此慶幸美泰兒和 Netflix 並非要他將《太空超人》整個重新大改造
。此外，深耕流行文化多年的史密斯也明白，粉絲群向來是很容易被觸怒的：「我很清楚
當粉絲沒有得到他們從小看到大的東西時會有什麼反應，你覺得我會想成為這種事的替死
鬼嗎？如果我要參與這種企劃，那就一定會忠於原作的本質，絕對會忠於這整個系列作品
。」

但諷刺的是，《太空超人：啟示錄》絕大多數收穫的批評都是「粉絲沒有得到他們從小看
到大的東西」，劇組做了極為大膽的選擇：讓 He-Man 在第一集就領便當。美泰兒電視內
容創意副總羅布大衛（Rob David）對此則表示，凱文史密斯認為這點子很棒，他想探索
一個 He-Man 死後的世界會是什麼樣子？
「我最喜歡的電影之一是《帝國大反擊》和《星戰大怒吼》，裡面的英雄都真的受到重創
，接著故事是關於英雄如何重新振作、變得更強大，基本上就是將英雄視為理所當然的舒
適感給奪走，英雄會揭露什麼才是真正使他的內在強大的關鍵，然後並重建它。我們認為
透過讓一個意想不到的角色和觀眾一起歷經這樣的旅程，我們將能夠真正理解到 He-Man
的重要性，以及這些故事主題的重要性。」羅布大衛說道。

凱文史密斯談他創作此劇的目標：「我知道要怎麼把這玩意兒變成漫威等級的東西。漫威
用新鮮的食譜重新為我的童年服務，讓我能像開心的小孩一樣再吃到相同的菜色。但這是
有技巧的，我一直瘋狂研究凱文費吉有足足十年了，他們提供讓你感覺像回到童年的東西
，但當你回頭和你童年觀看的東西比較後，他們其實拍出了更好的作品，而這就是我們為
《太空超人》做的事情。」
但史密斯也早已預期到有些粉絲對於劇中女性角色的處理會有什麼反應：「我知道有些人
會說：『老兄，這節目覺醒（woke）了』而我會覺得：『很好啊，我們所延續的原版卡通
不也他媽的是這樣嗎，回去重看好嗎，裡面每集都有出現女生，認清點吧。』」

史密斯繼續接著回嗆討厭《太空超人：啟示錄》的觀眾：「我看到網路上有人在說：『靠
，他們正在邊緣 He-Man 啦！』你真的認為美泰兒電視會付我錢要我拍一部沒有 He-Man
的《太空超人》嗎？他媽的別耍幼稚了好嗎！這讓我很驚訝，一堆人都在抱怨：『哦！我
懂了，這是在詐欺。』 」羅布大衛最後則表示，故事還沒結束，下半季將會繼續探索
He-Man 這個角色的本質。
