Jiuhua Mountain is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China. It was originally known as Jiuzi (Nine Peaks) Mountain in the Tang Dynasty. Kim Kyo Kak, a Silla prince (today's South Korea) came to Nine Peaks and practiced for 75 years. Many people believe he is the manifestation of the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva.

天祥海拔485公尺，是太魯閣國家公園景點之一，交通是仰賴中橫公路，以稚暉橋橫跨大沙溪連接，向東沿著立霧溪谷緊鄰而行，可達太魯閣峽谷。祥德寺座落在天祥的立霧溪對岸高地上，屬佛教臨濟宗的寺院，由於周圍群山有如九朵蓮花，故有「台灣的九華山」之稱。1991年建造完成高達36尺，目前為世界最高的地藏菩薩像。關原海拔2374.2公尺，位於台8線117公里處。緊臨塔次基里溪(立霧溪中游)，當氣流順溪谷而上，水氣往往在此聚集，或見雲霧開闔、山形飄渺，或成雲海，波濤洶湧，使此地長久以來極負觀雲勝名。
