Jeff Bezo’s Letter to Amazon Employees

Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos is stepping down later this year as CEO. He sent the following email announcing the transition to Amazon employees on Tuesday:
💡 This journey began some 27 years ago. Amazon was only an idea, and it had no name. Today, we employ 1.3 million talented, dedicated people, serve hundreds of millions of customers and businesses, and are widely recognized as one of the most successful companies in the world. How did that happen? Invention. Invention is the root of our success. We've done crazy things together, and then made them normal.
這趟旅程約莫在27年前啟程。亞馬遜當時只是一個點子，當時也還沒有名字。今天，我們聘僱了130萬名有天賦、盡職盡責的員工，服務數以億計的客戶與企業，許多人認可我們是全球少有的最成功企業。這是怎麼發生的？創新。創新是成功的根基。我們一起成就了許多瘋狂事，然後讓瘋狂變成他人的日常。
💤 If you get it right, a few years after a surprising invention, the new thing has become normal. People yawn. And that yawn is the greatest compliment an inventor can receive.
I don't know of another company with an invention track record as good as Amazon's, and I believe we are at our most inventive right now. I hope you are as proud of our inventiveness as I am. I think you should be.
如果走對了路，只要有一個驚人的創新，不出幾年，新事物就會成為人們的日常。讓人打哈欠的日常，而這個哈欠，是創新者能收到的最好讚美。
