Porsche Boxster車系問世至今屆滿25週年，保時捷特別推出「Boxster 25週年」限定車款。Boxster於1996年首度量產加入保時捷家族，最初的986世代承襲了1993年於底特律車展亮相並獲得熱烈迴響的Boxster概念雙座敞篷小跑車多項特徵。Boxster同時是保時捷首次採用水冷式水平對臥六缸引擎以及智能可攜式零件設計的車款，一年後推出的996世代911亦沿用此一概念，這個設計讓保時捷重返獲利產製。Boxster車系迄今歷經四次改款，全球產量突破357,000輛。
以GTS 4.0車型為基礎，並搭載4.0升水平對臥六缸引擎，具備400PS (294kW )的最大功率輸出表現，全球限量1,250台。保時捷為Boxster 25 週年提供了六速手排變速系統及七速PDK雙離合器自手排變速系統，極速表現可達293 km/h，在PDK變速系統與跑車計時套件的配置下，0-100 km/h 的加速只需四秒就能輕鬆完成。
Boxster 25週年限定紀念車款最引人注目的特色之一，便是在前保險桿、車側進氣格柵、Boxster字樣以及雙色20吋鋁合金輪圈的釹銀色(Neodyme)設計，以近似香檳色澤的優雅對比色，與1993年發表車款的金屬銀經典車色形成鮮明對比。除了金屬GT銀色(GT Silver Metallic)之外，Boxster 25週年亦提供金屬墨玉黑色(Jet Black Metallic)及金屬卡拉拉白色(Carrara White Metallic)等共三種金屬烤漆塗裝選擇。油箱蓋上的Porsche品牌字樣，為保時捷專屬Exclusive Design設計，為另一代表性元素。為了延續經典風格，Boxster 25週年特別選用酒紅色柔感真皮內裝搭配電動軟篷車頂，含Boxster 25浮雕字樣，內裝與車頂皆可另選黑色。髮絲紋鋁合金內裝飾板套件、14向電動調整跑車座椅、車門檻施以雙色Boxster字樣，以及含電熱裝置的多功能GT跑車式方向盤，也皆在這個全新紀念車款的標配之列。
對保時捷而言，Boxster車系承載的意義格外深厚，因為象徵著保時捷身為跑車製造商在產品策略上的重新定位，以及於90年代中期經濟狀況困頓時的關鍵復甦轉捩點。在當時，這款定價誘人的雙座跑車甫推出便擄獲眾多年輕車主的心，並體現於Boxster車系首見的水冷式水平對臥六缸引擎以及智能可攜式零件設計。此一概念亦被納入一年後保時捷發表的996世代911，引領保時捷重返獲利產製。外觀方面，Boxster車系也完美融合並承襲了保時捷品牌歷史及經典特色。在底特律發表的Boxster概念車，外觀讓人即刻聯想到傳奇車款550 Spyder 及 718 RS 60 Spyder 賽車。儘管當時環境充滿挑戰，但保時捷大膽無畏、勇於開創的品牌精神從未停歇。Boxster與保時捷的品牌理念不謀而合，甫推出便成為經典，無疑是品牌旗下最迷人的經典車系之一。
