Chào dì và các bạn,
Mình tự giới thiệu mình là My, hiện đang làm việc tại vị trí account management ở creative agency và có 4 năm kinh nghiệm trong ngành quảng cáo. Bài viết này dành cho những bạn:
- Phân vân có nên rời bỏ thủ đô văn hiến vô Sài Gòn (SG) hoa lệ phát triển sự nghiệp
- Đang yên ổn tự nhiên muốn chuyển ngành mà nhỡ va phải tiếng sét ái tình của truyền thông/ quảng cáo/ marketing nhưng không biết bắt đầu từ đâu
- Muốn theo ngành quảng cáo nhưng hổng biết tổ nghề có độ mình không
Trước khi bắt đầu thì có lưu ý nho nhỏ là sẽ xuất hiện Anh-Việt lẫn lộn vì đặc trưng công việc và môi trường làm việc nha. Start thôi nào <3
Đầu tiên thì mình hiện tại đang ở đâu nè? Mình có cơ hội được trải nghiệm 24 năm ở Hà Nội và 3 năm ở Sài Gòn. Lúc mới bắt đầu sự nghiệp thì mình cũng làm ở Hà Nội. Tuy nhiên sau khi tìm hiểu về ngành quảng cáo, và nhất là giới agency, thì mình nhận ra SG chính là mảnh đất màu mỡ để phát triển. Gi gỉ gì gi loại hình agency nào cũng có, lớn bé đủ cả. Bạn muốn phát triển career trong ngành quảng cáo, mình recommend các bạn move vào SG. HN cũng có agency, nhưng loại hình không đa dạng (mình đã không updated cơ hội việc làm ngoài HN 3 năm nay rồi, nhưng hồi mình còn ở ngoài đó thì chỉ loanh quanh content agency, media agency hoặc agency nhỏ không tên tuổi chủ yếu làm execution). Một phần nữa vì tính chất ngành quảng cáo phải nhanh, liền, deadline liên tục mà ""Hà Nội thì không vội được đâu"" nên nếu muốn trải nghiệm ""vòng xoáy"" agency thì bạn nên move vào SG. Agency trong SG, nếu bạn có cơ hội được làm việc trong những group agency hoặc global agency, bạn sẽ được học một cách bài bản cách execution 1 campaign quảng cáo, dù bạn chưa từng học qua chuyên ngành này. Ngoài lề một xíu là vô Sài Gòn thích lắm các bạn ạ, vì không có nồm:)).
Rồi mình vào vấn đề chính nè. Có một đợt mình thấy các fanpage share social post của Durex, hoặc có đợt các bạn share cuộc chiến OOH giữa Olvantine và Milo, ở dưới mình thấy có nhiều bạn comment ""team marketing xịn quá"", ""muốn được xin vào team marketing của brand ABC..."". Thực ra những social post mà các bạn thấy, hay những campaign xịn xò viral trên MXH, phần lớn là có bàn tay của agency (có những campaign brand team tự làm in-house, nhưng đa phần sẽ là agency lên idea và execution). Vậy agency quảng cáo là làm gì? Agency quảng cáo là những đơn vị thực hiện những campaign (phần lớn) để tăng độ nhận diện thương hiệu, giới thiệu ra thị trường sản phẩm mới thông qua hình ảnh (KV), phim (TVC), hay thông qua hoạt động phát sản phẩm thử (sampling activation). Có rất nhiền loại hình agency phụ trách nhiều mảng trong campaign phụ thuộc vào objective của campaign đó: creative agency, PR agency, event agency... Mình thấy trang này của Brands Vietnam khá đầy đủ những cái tên hiện đang có trong thị trường agency ở Việt Nam để các bạn có 1 cái nhìn toàn cảnh và cũng bỏ túi cho mình những agency các bạn đang nhắm tới.
Vậy muốn chen 1 chân vô ngành này thì làm thế nào? Thì mình xông pha lên các bạn. Nói qua một chút về background của mình thì mình không học ngành quảng cáo, truyền thông hay marketing, mình học luật :)) Đợt đó mình va vào quảng cáo vì đi làm content part-time xong thành freelance performance chạy ads và cuối cùng đi làm full time cho PR agency. Chắc là tổ ngành chọn mình á vì lúc ra trường mình khao khát muốn tiếp tục con đường luật lắm mà rải đơn không chỗ nào nhận nên mình quay sang chơi với quảng cáo. Nếu bạn muốn bắt đầu sự nghiệp của mình với agency, recommend các bạn đang là sinh viên năm 3, năm 4, xin làm intern cho agency. Agency thì lúc nào cũng thiếu người, và thường cũng không quan tâm lắm bạn đang học ngành gì (điển hình mình đi làm 4 năm chưa bao giờ bị bắt chat học vấn show bằng đại học), bạn chỉ cần thể hiện tốt và cho thấy mình có tư duy trong ngành quảng cáo với hiring manager là cơ hội cao sẽ được nhận. Bạn nào đang ở Hà Nội mà muốn thử sức với quảng cáo thì có thể xin làm intern trong SG vì trong SG tuyển intern nhiều chứ HN hiếm lắm tỉ lệ chọi vỡ đầu à. Coi như mình exchange 3 tháng trong SG vừa có cơ hội trải nghiệm môi trường mới lại biết đâu tìm ra con người thật của mình :))
Rồi vào agency sẽ như nào, fancy fashion show mỗi ngày hay cuộc chiến penthouse nảy lửa? Môi trường agency rất trẻ, vì bào người ghê quá mà. Hôm bữa dạo 1 vòng có bạn hỏi “không thích làm bàn giấy, lại giỏi tiếng anh thì nên làm gì?”. Bạn vào agency cũng là một lựa chọn vì giờ làm việc khá trễ (công ty mình bắt đầu làm việc lúc 9h30, nhưng thường 10h mọi người mới tới đủ), bận đồ thoải mái (mình toàn bận áo 2 dây đi làm), làm xong việc thì về, lâu lâu sẽ đi event, đi quay, đi shoot, đi thực địa… tuỳ thuộc vào tính chất campaign. Tuy nhiên các gì cũng có 2 mặt của nó. Đôi khi các bạn sẽ thấy những campaign tiền tỷ, được làm việc với KOLs nổi tiếng, được góp phần tạo nên những MV hay ho triệu view hay những TVC thú vị. Nhưng đằng sau đó là những giờ OT đến 9, 10h, những ngày đi shoot từ 6h sáng hôm trước đến 3h sáng hôm sau, những lần lật brief phút chót và 7749 lần feedbacks. Quảng cáo có hào nhoáng không? Có. Đằng sau ánh hào quang là mồ hôi và nước mắt. Nhưng cảm giác mọi công sức của mình và team được đền đáp bằng những sản phẩm xịn xò cũng xứng đáng lắm á. Nên nếu cho mình chọn lại, mình vẫn chọn quảng cáo dù đôi khi cực như choá :))
Về lương lậu thì điểm qua một chút vì cái này tuỳ vào năng lực mỗi bạn. Lương fresher thì cũng bình thường thôi, không cao lắm đâu so với thị trường (around 7 - 9tr), mà vài năm đầu thì bạn chủ yếu làm execution aware là cực á. Nhưng nếu bạn cố gắng và giỏi thì sau 3-5 năm sẽ lên vị trí manager, lương lậu cũng ổn hơn tuỳ xem bạn biết deal với nhà tuyển dụng không. Nhưng thường career path của mọi người là 1-3 năm làm agency sau đó sẽ chuyển sang làm client hoặc quit ngành luôn :)) Vậy nhé bạn nào có câu hỏi gì cứ comment bên dưới nếu rảnh mình sẽ rep nhé mình đi chạy deadline tiếp đây.

意大利作為絕無僅有參與一帶一路發展的國家,理應對中共打壓有更全面的理解,如今正值大學保衛戰一週年,以致大搜捕的時刻,當打壓更為嚴峻,香港更需要世界與我們同行。
為了讓各地朋友也能更了解香港狀況,我已在Patreon發佈當天演說的中文、英文和意大利文發言稿,盼望在如此困難的時勢裡,繼續讓世界知道我們未曾心息的反抗意志。
【The Value of Freedom: Burning Questions for Hong Kongers】
Good morning. I have the privilege today to share some of my thoughts and reflections about freedom, after taking part in social activism for eight years in Hong Kong. A movement calling for the withdrawal of the extradition law starting from last year had escalated into a demand for democracy and freedom. This city used to be prestigious for being the world’s most liberal economy, but now the infamous authoritarian government took away our freedom to election, freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and ideas.
Sometimes, we cannot avoid questioning the cause we are fighting for, the value of freedom. Despite a rather bleak prospect, why do we have to continue in this struggle? Why do we have to cherish freedom? What can we do to safeguard freedom at home and stay alert to attacks on freedom? In answering these questions, I hope to walk through three episodes in the previous year.
Turning to 2020, protests are not seen as frequently as they used to be on the media lens, partly because of the pandemic, but more importantly for the authoritarian rule. While the world is busy fighting the pandemic, our government took advantage of the virus to exert a tighter grip over our freedom. Putting the emergency laws in place, public assemblies in Hong Kong were banned. Most recently, a rally to support press freedom organized by journalists was also forbidden. While many people may ask if it is the end of street activism, ahead of us in the fight for freedom is another battleground: the court and the prison.
Freedom Fighters in Courtrooms and in Jail
Part of the huge cost incurred in the fight for freedom and democracy in Hong Kong is the increasing judicial casualties. As of today, more than 10 thousand people have been arrested since the movement broke out, more than a hundred of them are already locked up in prison. Among the 2,300 protestors who are prosecuted, 700 of them may be sentenced up to ten years for rioting charges.
Putting these figures into context, I wish to tell you what life is like, as a youngster in today’s Hong Kong. I was humbled by a lot of younger protestors and students whose exceptional maturity are demonstrated in courtrooms and in prison. What is thought to be normal university life is completely out of the question because very likely the neighbour next door or the roommate who cooked you lunch today will be thrown to jail on the next.
I do prison visits a few times a month to talk to activists who are facing criminal charges or serving sentences for their involvement in the movement. It is not just a routine of my political work, but it becomes my life as an activist. Since the movement, prison visits has also become the daily lives of many families.
But it is always an unpleasant experience passing through the iron gates one after one to enter the visitors’ room, speaking to someone who is deprived of liberty, for a selflessly noble cause. As an activist serving three brief jail terms, I understand that the banality of the four walls is not the most difficult to endure in jail. What is more unbearable is the control of thought and ideas in every single part of our daily routine enforced by the prison system. It will diminish your ability to think critically and the worst of it will persuade you to give up on what you are fighting for, if you have not prepared it well. Three years ago when I wrote on the first page of prison letters, which later turned into a publication called the ‘Unfree Speech’, I was alarmed at the environment of the prison cell. Those letters were written in a state in which freedom was deprived of and in which censorship was obvious. It brings us to question ourselves: other than physical constraints like prison bars, what makes us continue in the fight for freedom and democracy?
Mutual Support to activists behind-the-scene
The support for this movement is undiminished over these 17 months. There are many beautiful parts in the movement that continue to revitalise the ways we contribute to this city, instead of making money on our own in the so-called global financial centre. In particular, it is the fraternity, the mutual assistance among protestors that I cherished the most.
As more protestors are arrested, people offer help and assistance wholeheartedly -- we sit in court hearings even if we don’t know each other, and do frequent prison visits and write letters to protesters in detention. In major festivals and holidays, people gathered outside the prison to chant slogans so that they won’t feel alone and disconnected. This is the most touching part to me for I also experienced life in jail.
The cohesion, the connection and bonding among protestors are the cornerstone to the movement. At the same time, these virtues gave so much empowerment to the mass public who might not be able to fight bravely in the escalating protests. These scenes are not able to be captured by cameras, but I’m sure it is some of the most important parts of Hong Kong’s movement that I hope the world will remember.
I believe this mutual support transcends nationality or territory because the value of freedom does not alter in different places. More recently, Twelve Hongkong activists, all involved in the movement last year, were kidnapped by China’s coastal guard when fleeing to Taiwan for political refugee in late-August. All of them are now detained secretly in China, with the youngest aged only 16. We suspect they are under torture during detention and we call for help on the international level, putting up #SAVE12 campaign on twitter. In fact, how surprising it is to see people all over the world standing with the dozen detained protestors for the same cause. I’m moved by activists in Italy, who barely knew these Hong Kong activists, even took part in a hunger strike last month calling for immediate release of them. This form of interconnectivity keeps us in spirit and to continue our struggle to freedom and democracy.
Understanding Value of freedom in the university battle
A year ago on this day, Hong Kong was embroiled in burning clashes as the police besieged the Polytechnic University. It was a day we will not forget and this wound is still bleeding in the hearts of many Hong Kongers. A journalist stationed in the university at that time once told me that being at the scene could only remind him of the Tiananmen Square Massacre 31 years ago in Beijing. There was basically no exit except going for the dangerous sewage drains.
That day, thousands of people, old or young, flocked to districts close to the university before dawn, trying to rescue protestors trapped inside the campus. The reinforcements faced grave danger too, for police raided every corner of the small streets and alleys, arresting a lot of them. Among the 800+ arrested on a single day, 213 people were charged with rioting. For sure these people know there will be repercussions. It is the conscience driving them to take to the streets regardless of the danger, the conscience that we should stand up to brutality and authoritarianism, and ultimately to fight for freedoms that are guaranteed in our constitution. As my dear friend, Brian Leung once said, ‘’Hong Kong Belongs to Everyone Who Shares Its Pain’’. I believe the value of freedom is exemplified through our compassion to whom we love, so much that we are willing to sacrifice the freedom of our own.
Defending freedom behind the bars
No doubt there is a terrible price to pay in standing up to the Beijing and Hong Kong government. But after serving a few brief jail sentences and facing the continuing threat of harassment, I learnt to cherish the freedom I have for now, and I shall devote every bit what I have to strive for the freedom of those who have been ruthlessly denied.
The three episodes I shared with you today -- the courtroom, visiting prisoners and the battle of university continue to remind me of the fact that the fight for freedom has not ended yet. In the coming months, I will be facing a maximum of 5 years in jail for unauthorized assembly and up to one ridiculous year for wearing a mask in protest. But prison bars would never stop me from activism and thinking critically.
I only wish that during my absence, you can continue to stand with the people of Hong Kong, by following closely to the development, no matter the ill-fated election, the large-scale arrest under National Security Law or the twelve activists in China. To defy the greatest human rights abusers is the essential way to restore democracy of our generation, and the generation following us.

【不能忽略的創意「醒酒」階段。】
今天要來解答這被問無數次的問題 — 我們團隊如何進行創意發想?當然每間公司、不同團隊適合不同的作法,不過我們針對大型專案的發想流程經歷了好幾次調整,就當跟大家分享我的血淚經驗吧。
1. 先讓創意「醒酒」。
很多人在發想會議開場就直接問:「大家有什麼點子嗎?」這樣很容易只會得到一堆「外在形式」,也就是 "HOW":用什麼手法說故事?但一個創意的誕生,更重要的是「內在思想」 :"WHY":找到驅動目標客群的原因,知道要對他們說什麼故事。
在拿到客戶的 brief 後,我們會先有一次幾乎全團隊參與的會議,根據客戶提出的目標客群、品牌訴求、輔助數據 ... 每個人提出自己對這個主軸的「生活經驗」,舉個例子:客戶希望我們規劃「母親節送禮」的 Campaign,大家就會先不斷丟出自己跟媽媽之間的小故事:小時候跟媽媽最愛吵什麼、現在多常回去媽媽家蹭飯、哪些話媽媽總是掛在嘴邊 ...
然後我們就發現了 — 廣告告訴我們母親節要送保養品、要送按摩椅 ... 但我們其實說不出媽媽「作為一個獨立個體」下班後的興趣是什麼、她喜歡喝酒還是咖啡、她週末會不會去逛美術館 ... 媽媽除了「媽媽」的角色,她也是一個人。所以我們最後發展出了 Pinkoi 「那位女孩」專案(https://socialdon.group/thatgirl),用團隊成員媽媽成為媽媽之前的故事,引導大家對「了解她,才能送她真正想要的」這個訊息產生共鳴。
我把這個階段稱為 — 創意發想的「醒酒」階段。引導創意人開始把腦袋中的生活經驗、故事 ... 通通倒出來,接觸外界空氣、接觸其他人的想法,因為是講自己的經驗,也比較不會遇到腦袋當機的狀態,讓創意人有時間把腦袋轉速逐漸拉高。
2. 「群體討論」跟「獨想」必須兼顧。
一個人思考很難激盪出好點子,但一堆人一起討論通常太發散、很難把創意的可行性、所有環節想清楚。通常我們開完一次群體討論會議後,會進入「獨想」階段,讓主導專案創意的 PM 先自己沉澱、根據大家討論出的核心想法,先把 idea 跟 campaign 規劃整理出雛形。下次群體討論會議時則由 PM 跟大家分享整理完的 campaign 規劃,然後讓所有人再次針對目前的規畫給予各種延伸、調整建議、甚至打掉重練,而這樣的過程會來回數次。
像我個人很習慣半夜一個人在社區的步道上來回散步,一邊看討論會議紀錄、一邊自己靜下來整理思緒,來回檢視目前點子的銳利度。
3. 為發想會議打造好場景。
發想會議的自在感很重要。我們團隊會坐著、站著、趴著、躺著 ... 參與會議,有人會開筆電、滑手機、有人翻書都無所謂。創意人是很細膩的,要求大家坐姿筆挺、強迫每個人輪流發言、硬是要走流程明確嚴謹的討論流程,反而大家搔破頭都沒想法。一場成功的創意發想會議,必須討論本身就很有趣,讓大家興奮地主動參與。
雖然聽起來很玄,但是討論時看著具體的產品、實際觸摸產品、品嘗產品 ... 真的會把創意人的「五感」都打開。我們討論服飾品牌的案子時,整個會議空間就會擺滿各種衣服;在想威士忌的案子時,就是會在大白天一邊開會討論、一邊喝威士忌,你必須讓整個團隊沉浸在「完整的產品體驗」中。
我自己雖然不喝酒,但我的團隊夥伴們不少愛酒份子,這次收到朋友寄來的浪雲醇酒器和醇酒針,我們立刻在一場實際內部討論會議中開了一瓶紅酒和一瓶威士忌試用(是想一個獨立樂團的專案,配酒喝夠合理吧!) — 浪雲醇酒器能透過錫和,短時間去除酒中苦味、減緩嗆辣感,香氣也會被強化,根據同事的說法:真 的 有 差。而且工藝設計質感絕佳,看著也是賞心悅目。

The content is written from my personal experiences for people to recognise the three marks of existence and to apply the principle in their daily life by communicating via photography and graphics, as well as on social media and with inspirational talks.”
ปัจจุบันคนรุ่นใหม่ไม่เข้าใจเเละไม่ยอมรับธรรมชาติของชีวิต จึงทำให้เกิดความทุกข์เเละปัญหาต่างๆ ตามมาอย่างมากมาย ศิลปนิพนธ์ชิ้นนี้จึงถูกสร้างขึ้น เพื่อรณรงค์ให้คนรุ่นใหม่รู้จักเเละเข้าใจ กฏไตรลักษณ์ เเละสามารถนำไปปรับใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันได้ โดยเนื้อหาทั้งหมดในชิ้นงาน “เเกว่ง(เเกร่ง)” ถูกเขียนขึ้นมาจากประสบการณ์เเละมุมมองของผู้สร้างงาน ที่นำมาสื่อสารผ่านทางภาพถ่ายเเละองค์ประกอบกราฟฟิก โดยสื่อสารผ่านทางงานสิ่งพิมพ์ และทาง Social Media รวมไปถึงการพูดเพื่อให้เกิดแรงบันดาลใจ (Inspirational talk)
