Power is supplied by a variant of the same award winning v8 turbo power plant that Ferrari has been using for the past few years only this time it is paired with an all new 8 speed dual clutch transmission that comes from the SF90. Shifts are fast, smooth and seamless and the power from the twin turbo v8 is endless blasting to 60mph in 3.4 seconds. Not bad for a grand tourer! Although they call it a GT it actually falls in between a GT and a traditional sports car and is truly the perfect combination of both. You can drive it around town in a very civilized way, with soft suspension and a quiet exhaust note in Comfort mode but with a clockwise crank of the red manettino dial into Sport or Race mode, it becomes a canyon carving monster shrinking around you as you rip up the road or the track. Brakes are sharp and crisp and because the car is exceptionally light for it’s class, you do not feel like you are trying to stop a train.
Often times GT cars are the underwhelming ugly cousin of a car brand. Neither here nor there, they are usually heavy and lumbering with compromised looks and compromised performance. Ferrari managed to crack the formula on this one by leaning on it’s historical roots for design but relying on their modern technological know how to squeeze every bit of performance out of this thing. Despite it being the entry level car for the brand, it’s probably my favorite Ferrari in it’s current lineup. @ferrari @ferrariusa #FerrariRoma
