5 years ago, I got the chance to play Mei Ling, Taukes sister in Ola Bola the Musical. I never know how huge an impact a character can do to me, but now I now. After 2 years of living with the pandemic, I realised, Mei Ling is what made me ME today. She is kind but strong when it comes to the things she wants in life. She does not give up, she expresses her thoughts and feelings. Shes sensitive and caring towards her family. She dreams and she never stops to dream big and high. She has her ego but she knows the priority and she is willing to sacrifice for a greater good. Despite not being able to perform on stage for more than 2 years, Im still holding on to my dreams and I still believe that one day, all these will end and we will soon be reconnecting with what we want once again. Selamat hari MALAYSIA! We all always been proud of Malaysia before, now and in future as well. When we look back, when there was no independence yet, cant even imagine how much our ancestors fought for what we have today which is right and freedom.When we look at them, the previous generation always set an example for being brave and mainly for their hope and believe.Times has been tough for all of us for past two years, but hey when we look back all the generations will have their test and challenges which we have to face. After 2 years of living with the pandemic, I realised, Mei Ling is what made me ME today. She is kind but strong when it comes to the things she wants in life. She does not give up, she expresses her thoughts and feelings. She's sensitive and caring towards her family. She dreams and she never stops to dream big and high. She has her ego but she knows the priority and she is willing to sacrifice for a greater good. Despite not being able to perform on stage for more than 2 years, I'm still holding on to my dreams and I still believe that one day, all these will end and we will soon be reconnecting with what we want once again.

Selamat hari MALAYSIA! We all always been proud of Malaysia before, now and in future as well. When we look back, when there was no independence yet, can't even imagine how much our ancestors fought for what we have today which is right and freedom.
When we look at them, the previous generation always set an example for being brave and mainly for their hope and believe.
Times has been tough for all of us for past two years, but hey when we look back all the generations will have their test and challenges which we have to face. But we shall never stop believing. Keep believing, keep fight for our rights, and follow the sop. The world is evolving, so does the rule as well. Let's understand them and follow them for our own benefit. Selamat hari Malaysia and Believe again!

To Freedom / You

Over recent years #Taiwan has made strides towards more open and transparent governance, actively encouraging public participation. Ideas from the public created initiatives allowing people to report their tax through their mobile phones, for example, which, in turn, formed the basis of a mask rationing system. As Taiwan is a nation of #AnimalLovers, it is perhaps not surprising that the initiative behind the introduction of #PetFriendly public transport also came from a member of the public.

This was the example that we featured in our recent promotional short for the #UNGA76, “To Freedom,” representing pet lovers everywhere with the words:

“Participatory democracy allows the people and the government to communicate, realizing people’s ideal lifestyles more effectively. My grandson registered me to vote online. A policy proposal only requires 5,000 endorsements for a government response. Now I can take my dog A-Mao further afield!”

If the UN states part of its mission as encouraging countries around the world to respect the rights of their people, Taiwan's vision of global partnership can serve as a valuable reference.

People tend to work longer hours nowadays. Working long hours has a negative effect on themselves their families and the society so working hours should be restricted. Do you agree or disagree?

Working longer hours is getting more common in today’s society. I personally believe that this trend not only has a severe impact on the workers themselves, but also on their families and the community as a whole. Therefore, I totally agree with the idea of limiting working hours.

A few decades ago, a person normally worked an average of eight hours per day. Average daily working hours in recent years, however, have significantly increased to ten or even fourteen. This, in my opinion, adversely affects employees’ health and productivity. For example, people who spend longer at work are more likely to suffer from various health issues, ranging from fatigue to more serious problems like anxiety disorders or even stroke . Failing health leads to more sick leave , poor work performance and low productivity. My cousin is a case in point. Working nearly twelve hours on a daily basis, he frequently feels exhausted and makes more errors at work than he used to.

I also think that extended hours of work has serious consequences for families and communities . At the family level, busy work schedules prevent people from taking frequent family trips or even just having meals together. Relationships among members are greatly weakened if they cannot make time for each other. In terms of community life, overworked people do not devote time to voluntary activity that brings benefits for their society. My uncle, for example, hardly has time for local community service projects such as conservation work or working with a charity because he works more than sixty hours per week.

In conclusion, I would argue that working time should be reduced since the frequency of long working hours exerts an adverse effect on employees, their family bonds and their community.

Usually we can easily buy snacks at the supermarket/convenience stores, but do you know that many of them contain animal ingredients, and you will be surprised about those ingredients in your snacks. For example, the gummy candy that everyone loves, the chewy taste is actually from the skin of pigs!

English stress pattern is manifested through syllable length, loudness and pitch. In other words, stressed syllables are longer, louder and higher pitched than unstressed ones. Sometimes one word that is stressed differently may have different grammatical functions and meanings, for example, the homographs “record” (verb) and “record” (noun). “Record” has the stress on second syllable when it is a verb, and it has stress on the first when it is a noun. The shift of the stress even makes a noticeable difference to the sound of the vowels, for instance, “e” in noun “REcord” is pronounced as /e/, but /ɪ/ in verb “reCORD”.
