【不同月份的寶石？︱#代表月份的誕生石】
有時經過手飾店，會見到「誕生石」的字眼？其實誕生石是甚麼呢？

誕生石 (Birthstone) 是指代表出生月份的寶石。有一說法指，起源可追溯至聖經舊約中，祭司亞倫 (Aaron) 的胸甲 (Priestly breastplate) 上面就鑲嵌了12顆寶石。而一世紀時的著名的猶太歷史學家約瑟夫斯 (Josephus) 就相信，胸甲上的12顆寶石與12個月份及黃道十二宮有關連。不過很多人也批評誕生石只是銷售手段的一種，認為只是為寶石自行賦上意義。
根據美國寶石研究院(GIA)，現代的誕生石分別是：
1月：石榴石 Garnet
2月：紫水晶 Amethyst
3月：海藍寶石 Aquamarine、血石 Bloodstone
4月：鑽石 Diamond
5月：祖母綠 Emerald
6月：月光石 Moonstone、珍珠 Pearl、變石 Alexandrite
7月：紅寶石 Ruby
8月：橄欖石 Peridot、尖晶石 Spinel、紅縞瑪瑙 Sardonyx
9月：藍寶石 Sapphire
10月：蛋白石 Opal、電氣石 Tourmaline
11月：黃寶 Citrine、藍色托帕石 Topaz
12月：綠松石 Turquoise、坦桑石 Tanzanite、鋯石 Zircon
