I never got this off my chest in public, but I really think M.Nasir deserved to win best actor that year. Also, either Adlin Aman Ramlie or Rahim Razali should have won best supporting actor. I'm obviously biased, but I really question the film festival judging criteria for that year anyway. The theme that year was "Filem Malaysia Era Globalisasi".
And I cannot tahan the lame excuses they gave. "Kena lah bagi chan semua filem", "tak aci lah nak bandingkan filem budget besar dengan filem biasa" etc.😒
That aside, I'm so proud of all these wonderful Malaysian actors I was so lucky to work with. The best of the best of the Malaysian industry.
