【Sitting Disease】:久坐比吸菸更致命!世界衛生組織指出,健走是最容易被實踐也是最為推薦的身體活動。
英國研究發現半數上班族每天走路時間不超過半小時,1/3上班族太忙,甚至連上廁所時間都沒有。很多人都習慣在辦公室久坐不走動,等週末再拚命運動。事實上,這麼做只補償了你的心理,補不回你久坐對身體的傷害。
■「久坐比吸菸更致命!(Sitting is the new smoking!)」
是不是常坐在辦公桌吃午餐?忙得沒時間起身?近來,已有越來越多的疾病證實與久坐相關,這種現象被稱為「坐病」(sitting disease),稱呼它是種病,還不如說它是個不健康的生活習慣。
英國《每日郵報》報導,38%受訪者坦承太分身乏術,只好用email和同事溝通;超過半數的人習慣在辦公桌解決午餐;1/3的人一再憋尿。研究顯示,3/4受訪者自覺坐著的時間太長;另有2/3受訪者擔心久坐可能影響健康;66%受訪者說,待在辦公室比起在家時更少活動。
■久坐不動不是只有發胖的副作用,它其實很傷身體
根據研究,每天坐著超過4小時,就會造成代謝變差、擾亂血糖、增加胰島素和血壓以及腿部肌肉萎縮等負作用,導致肥胖、背痛、心臟病、糖尿病、癌症以及心智脆弱等等疾病的風險大幅升高。
美國心臟學會研究指出,每天平均多坐1小時,罹患心血管疾病(如冠狀血管鈣化等)的機率就增加了14%,坐越久血液循環越差,儘管運動可以促進心臟血管的健康,但是不論運動量多麼大,「久坐對每個人的負面影響都是顯著的」,亦即,與其多做運動降低罹患心血管疾病的風險,還不如「減少久坐不起的頻率與時間」。
久坐也和肥胖、體重增加有正相關,肥胖正是罹患冠狀動脈性心臟病危險因子。研究數據顯示,每個人1天平均坐著9小時,而這9小時中,上班族有將近7成時間是在辦公。世界衛生組織(WHO)表示,「不活動」是成人健康第4大殺手。【註1】
■世界衛生組織指出,健走是最容易被實踐也是最為推薦的身體活動。依據國民健康署「102年國民健康訪問調查」面訪18,194位18歲以上民眾過去1個月運動情形,發現約6成(57%)的民眾過去每星期有運動,其中有3成(30.4%)民眾從事的運動項目以健走(含散步)為主,顯示國人已逐步將健走(含散步)融入生活。世界衛生組織指出,健走是最容易被實踐也是最為推薦的身體活動。
王英偉署長建議將健走融入生活中,較容易形成運動習慣,如上下班通勤採混合式動態交通方式,早上上班時及晚上下班時,各以15分鐘步行,而部分路段搭乘大眾交通工具,就可以在平常上班日輕鬆達到一週150分鐘的目標,或飯後利用住家附近運動設施開放之校園,全家一起在操場健走,不但可以促進親子感情,還可一起顧健康。國民健康署鼓勵還沒有運動習慣的朋友們,從健走開始,建立規律運動習慣。【註2】
■走路燃脂比慢跑多、還降31%腸癌!13個好處非走不可
1.可釋放壓力、消除疲勞
走路可以刺激我們的大腦分泌β-腦內啡,一種可以提振心情使人產生愉快感覺的 「快樂嗎啡」。
2.降低罹患青光眼機率
研究顯示,規律運動可以幫助降低眼壓,預防青光眼。對已經得青光眼的人來說,則有減緩症狀的功效。
3.可減緩失智症狀
科學家研究發現,走路增進我們的腦記憶迴路運作,使我們腦袋靈光,多走路可以幫助減緩失智或知能減退症狀。
4.可增加身體抵抗力
研究顯示,規律運動的人免疫力比較好,不容易感冒。運動時血液循環比較快,使得免疫細胞大軍運作更加順暢,可以有效率的快速殲滅細菌和病毒。
5.可預防罹患心血管疾病
現代人的飲食習慣,使得膽固醇量過多,容易誘發心肌梗塞、腦梗塞等病變,持續20分鐘以上的步行,有助分解燃燒體內中性脂肪,增加好膽固醇的含量。此外,根據「新英格蘭醫學期刊」報導,一星期若走路3小時以上,可降低35至40%罹患心臟病的風險。
6.可鍛鍊肌肉
走路可以鍛鍊肩膀和手臂肌肉,走路時雙手自然擺動這個動作有助於鍛鍊我們的肌肉。
7.可降低高血壓
研究顯示,經常走路血壓可以降低5毫米汞柱(mmHg), 對患有高血壓的人來說,走路是一項很合適的運動。
8.可使體態優美
走路可以鍛鍊腹肌使體態更美。
9.預防骨質疏鬆
走路可以強化我們的骨質,預防骨質疏鬆。
10.降低罹患大腸癌機率
研究顯示,常走路的女性得大腸癌的機率降低了31%。
11.可鍛鍊腿部肌群
下肢的穩定對於腰部的支撐也很重要,大腿肌肉強化可以分擔穩定腰椎的力量,走路幫助鍛鍊我們的腿部肌群,強化包括股四頭肌、臗屈肌、腿後肌等部位。若走在有斜坡的路上,效果更加
12.提升身體平衡感
常走路有助提升我們的平衡感,使我們不易跌倒。
13.可以減重
信不信由你,走路所消耗的熱量竟比慢跑多哩。 走路所消耗的熱量大部分來自於脂肪,而跑步所消耗的熱量只有其中30-50%來自脂肪。如果以相同時間內所燃燒脂肪來看,跑步因為速率較快,也就是說實際上在同樣時間內動的較多,想當然爾,跑步所耗熱量較多。但如果我們以百分比來看的話,其實走路所耗的熱量比慢跑來的多。【註3】
