Who is your Rewarder?
“Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God. And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.” (Colossians 3:22-25 WEB)
If you have been treated badly, unappreciated for your kindness, or cheated by someone, this revelation will really help you.
It is depressing when you work for men and expect your reward from them. We are all fallible in our conduct, so it is inevitable that men will fail you.
However, every time you get unfairly treated by men, you can shift your focus to Jesus as your Rewarder. He is the one who will reward you in due time and restore you of your losses.
I know how it feels to be looked down upon, unappreciated, and exploited. The world does that because it generally idolizes money and does not really care about virtues or morals.
Most people are so badly hurt by others that they go around hurting more people, justifying their actions by the fact that ‘everyone else is doing it, and it is normal’.
When you do everything as unto the Lord, in other words, for His sake, you will not be devastated when men treat you badly. You will confidently expect Jesus to reward and restore you for every injustice.
We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit, set apart from the world, preserved by God as His precious possessions. You are righteous, holy and pure in Christ, so you are supposed to conduct yourself differently from the world. We are not taught to repay evil for evil, but rather to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
The last line of the passage above is not about losing salvation or being punished by God, but rather about facing earthly consequences for sins.
When you stoop to the level of the world and join them in exploiting others, lying and cheating, there are consequences which are not from God.
Sin is destructive as it matures and brings forth death. There is no partiality. Even if you are a believer, indulging in sin still unleashes destructive effects in your life.
For example, smoking cigarettes is the act of abusing your body which is God’s temple. This habit has the natural consequence of damaging your health—it is not God doing it.
No matter how morally bankrupt the world becomes, continue to shine brightly for Christ. Do everything as worship unto Him, not despairing if men treat you unfairly. They will receive the natural consequences of their sins. As for you, Jesus is your Rewarder and great Restorer!

Let Jesus Carry You to Good Pastures
“Bel bows down. Nebo stoops. Their idols are carried by animals, and on the livestock. The things that you carried around are heavy loads, a burden for the weary. They stoop and they bow down together. They could not deliver the burden, but they have gone into captivity. “Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been carried from their birth, that have been carried from the womb. Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver.” (Isaiah 46:1-4 WEB)
When you make an idol in your heart, you will have to carry the heavy burden of it, always needing to upkeep it by your own strength.
For example if you spend a lifetime chasing worldly success by your own strength, you will be burnt out and suffer collateral damage along the way such as harming your health and estranging your relationships.
However when you trust in Jesus, He will carry you throughout your life. Don’t struggle little lamb, just rest on His strong shoulders and trust that He will carry you to good pastures.
He can give you true abundant life—wholesome success that doesn’t compromise any areas of your life. His will is for you to prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
Your soul (mind, will and emotions) prospers when you constantly fill yourself with God’s word.
Hear and receive messages filled with God’s love demonstrated through Jesus’ finished work at the cross.
The true Gospel teaches you to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh.
When you do that, you are allowing Jesus to carry you.
Just like flowing downstream in a mighty river, you will advance further and faster than you can ever go by yourself!

Here is my English version of Owarinaki Tabi (Endless Journey) by Mr.Children! ミスチルの「終わりなき旅」を英語で歌ってみました♪
This is my favorite Mr.Children song. I'm afraid I didn't do it justice because there were a lot of chords I'm not used to, so my playing is rather stilted and the tempo is sort of all over the place. But I hope my version helps English-speakers appreciate this song :)

Lyrics
Never looking back again
Down the road I’ve been running
Ran ‘til I could hardly breathe
I’ve got my eyes set on the future I can see
I set my dreams free
So hard to light a fire inside
It’s chiseling away my life
Like a sharpened grating knife
But I will drag along the shadows with the light
And carry on
And so I sing out, ‘til my voice rings out
That I only want someone to hold me dear
And I say to myself, don’t be a child anymore
But I keep looking for answers here
On the other side of every unturned key
There is something brand new waiting just for me
I know, I know that’s what keeps me moving on and on
Life’s never perfect, full of ups and downs
But nothing’s stopping me from trying the next door down
I will keep searching, I know there’s more to myself
The journey never ends
Even when I find a friend
Or someone with an ear to lend
The loneliness is calling out
But there is someone out there who couldn’t live without
Me by their side
And though your heart’s been torn all apart and
You cry for someone to love the pain away
You needn’t worry, ‘cause time will callously erase
Everything you ever felt someday
If you think until you cave under the strain
You’ll start to get so fed up with everything
Until you just want to quietly escape it all
But the higher that the wall is in front of you
All the better you will feel once you’ve made it through
I’m not ready to give up, I haven’t reached my limit yet
The times just keep on getting more complicated
And we seek the price we’ll pay
So people try to reconcile
Try to fit into the role they think they ought to play
Never stoop to imitation, ‘cause of you there’s only one
You won’t ever find a recipe for life, there is none
Never looking back again
Down the road I’ve been running
Ran ‘til I could hardly breathe
I see the path my dreams will take in front of me
On the other side of every unturned key
There is something brand new waiting, just you see
You know, just knowing that will keep you moving on and on
Life’s never perfect, full of ups and downs
But nothing’s stopping you from trying the next door down
Keep on, keep searching ‘cause there’s a better you out there
We can take the hesitation in our hearts
Make it positive and turn it into a new start
Always, as long as we just keep moving on and on
嫌なことばかりでは無いさ
iya na koto bakari de wa nai sa
さあ次の扉をノックしよう
saa tsugi no tobira wo nokku shiyou
もっと大きなはずの自分を探す
