ในรายการ Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct ของวันที่ 22 มิถุนายนที่ผ่านมา Masahiro Sakurai ได้เปิดเผยตัวละคร Mii Fighter ใหม่จำนวน 5 ตัว โดยหนึ่งในนั้นมี Vault Boy จากเกม Fallout มาร่วมแจมในสังเวียน Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ซึ่งสร้างความเซอร์ไพรส์ให้เกมเมอร์หลายคน

สำหรับเกมเมอร์ที่ไม่รู้จัก Vault Boy เป็นมาสคอตประจำเกม Fallout ที่มักปรากฏตัวให้เห็นผ่านหน้าต่าง HUD และ User Interface โดย Vault Boy เป็นหนึ่งในมาสคอตจากวิดีโอเกมที่หลายคนรู้จักกันเป็นอย่างดี ด้วยการออกแบบตัวละครที่รับแรงบันดาลใจจากบอร์ดเกม Monopoly
