MOFA minister Joseph Wu and madame Wu invited members of the foreign diplomatic corps and their spouses to spend last weekend on Taiwan's #RomanticRoute3, which runs through #Miaoli, #Hsinchu and #Taoyuan.
The trip kicked off with a visit to the #TongluoTeaFactory, where they got to experience picking tea leaves and sampling different kinds of tea, as well as take a bicycle ride along the old railway track past the iconic #LongTengBrokenBridge. On the evening of the 25th, several members of the diplomatic corps showed off their musical talents at a specially arranged dinner party with Hsinchu deputy mayor Shen Hui-hung. The next day they headed to the #HsinchuGlassMuseum and the #SpringPoolGlassStudio, where Minister Wu tried his hand at glass blowing.
The next stop on this journey of romance was Taoyuan, where they sampled traditional and modern kinds of dried tofu dishes and the local brew, before heading to #Shimen to take in the landscape around the reservoir.
Minister Wu hopes the trip left a lasting impression of #Hakka culture with the participants and that they’ll promote the route in their 27 home countries!
