One of the big differences between Japan and the USA is the huge differences when it comes to job interviews and interview styles... Japan is very formal and very similar from person to person. Answers are short and precise and little extra is ever said. In comparison, the American interviewee has no trouble selling himself, talking constantly and making a strong appeal in a more casual setting than his fellow Japanese salaryman to be!!
