Ali came to our family as a surprise. He is God’s biggest surprise sent to us to complete our little family. Since the day I found out that I was pregnant with him, he has never failed to surprise me. Yes, my very own #SurpriseNumber3! Life with him is full of surprises!
Yet again tonight, during our parents’ meeting with Ali’s teacher, he surprised us. To begin with, his teacher said that he is such a fun, quirky and friendly character to have in the class. Well, no surprise there - he is indeed a rainbow that fills our life with his colourful personality!
The next thing she said not only surprised us, but was beyond our expectations! As you know, Ali is the youngest in our family and he’s already declared that he doesn’t want to grow up and he wants to stay our baby forever. However, little did we know that our baby is a different boy in school! According to his teacher, when he started Year 1 way back in September, he was already performing above target. His teacher praised him for his maturity, his hard work, and his focus. He is already advanced in both reading and writing. And Maths is just a piece of cake for him.
Due to our surprise, his teacher gave us an example of a recent situation in the classroom. They were doing repeated addition, and it was Ali’s turn to go to the front of the class to solve a problem. While he was solving the sum, he made a mistake, and he instantly froze. Before the teacher could even open her mouth to correct him, Ali stopped her and said, "Wait, wait, wait, don’t tell me! Give me a minute, I will try and solve this!" He then stood there for around 30 seconds, then took the duster, wiped out his mistake, and rewrote the correct answer.
The teacher said that she was shocked, not because Ali answered the question correctly, but because of the fact that he’s only a 5-year-old boy - this was beyond mathematics! What’s amazing is that he managed to spot his own mistake, then independently find a solution to correct his mistake - MashaAllah!
The teacher ended our meeting by telling us that she is truly blessed to have Ali as one of her students…and we are even more blessed ♥️
Alhamdulillah,
Mrs Mom - a mother blessed with 3 amazing children...sharing parenthood experience!

"Pay attention when you travel!"
Two days ago I saw a news about a Japanese girl was raped by Indians. I shared this news is not to discourage you from traveling to India. But when you travel to somewhere complicated or countries which have gaps between the rich and the poor, you need to pay extra attention to your safety. For example, when you travel, maybe go with someone you know. Or do not go out alone when it's very late.
I saw many groups like 3-4 girls traveling independently, I was very happy seeing it. Becuz it means they are brave, independent and they want to expand their horizons. However, sometimes we might be too innocent or careless and we are tricked or took advantages by ppl. So think twice when out of sudden someone wants to help you or you get something without paying anything.
In the news it mentioned that the Indians told the girl they wanted to be her tour guide. If someone like this wants to bring you to somewhere by car or to somewhere remote, you should be cautious! When I worked in Paris, sometimes I went home late from work. When I walked back home, I always walked along bright streets or followed someone walking in front of me so I wouldn't be alone.
