To express without baby’s latch is really challenging. But I’m grateful to those who shared their tips, videos, and one particular nurse (Fazilah) in NICU who is taking care of our lil sweetheart. I wanted to have the lactation nurse to watch (me) if I’m doing it right bcs I wasn’t been able to yield excellent volume according to baby’s needs. But bcs the PIC was off, Fazilah agreed to help. She shared with me the technique and what works for her and most importantly, it’s very relaxing and not painful at all. ❤️

Initially I thought I was going to miss this chance (to harvest the colostrum) since baby was not with me and I wasn’t performing up to expectation. When I asked for guidance from the lactation nurse in my ward, all I rmber was how hard she squeeze my nipples n I was alr on the verge of crying. 😭 She told me this is the way to do and that’s the pain level I need to meet. 😵‍💫😵🤯🤬🥵😡 So I just did exactly what she said and for the first few days of “stimulation exercise”, I was in so much pain n misery. 🙇🏻‍♀️ It was hell of a torture 🧨💣🔪💥🔥and it makes me wonder why do mothers have to go through such suffering when the body were still recovering from the horrific labor pain; mentally and physically 🤒
But really, thanks God for sending us Fazilah just when we need it the most ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹💓

Bae visits the hospital daily. Already very popular among the guards and NICU staff 😅 He was always there to bring me things I need (and don’t need eg: sinful snacks) to make sure I have a pleasant stay. 🥰 He’ll push me on wheelchair all the way from my ward to baby’s at NICU. And we’ll both spend our quality time with our lil sweetheart 👶🏻. And you’re right, I don’t rmber the pain anymore when I see her, but if u ask if I’m ready for No.2, I can firmly tell you, I AM NOT LAH 😅😂🤣

I was ideally, expecting for natural birth VAB so I don’t risk for any complications or them touching my existing scars but 𝙄𝙏 𝘿𝙄𝘿𝙉’𝙏 𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙀𝙉.. CSEC on my midline scar with 100% epidural 💢

I was ideally, expecting for 10cm dilation, so I practiced an active lifestyle throughout pregnancy with hiking, swimming and walking but 𝙄𝙏 𝘿𝙄𝘿𝙉’𝙏 𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙀𝙉.. I have to endure 6 hours of contraction pain and labor still did not happen, hence, emergency C - SEC 🆘

I was ideally, expecting ok maybe if it end up with CSEC, it’ll be a fast and smooth surgery like cancer days and just recuperate at home for 2 weeks and I’ll be back on my feet again but 𝙄𝙏 𝘿𝙄𝘿𝙉’𝙏 𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙀𝙉.. I end up have to be readmitted due to infection and inflammation on my incision with on/off fever and was constantly in severe pain despite being prescribed pain killer 💊

I was ideally, expecting baby will be home with me right after birth but 𝙄𝙏 𝘿𝙄𝘿𝙉’𝙏 𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙀𝙉.. little did I expect, she’ll be admitted to NICU for Congenital Pneumonia and Jaundice (this is well aware bcs both of us are O+) 🩸

Yes, as I’m writing this, I’m back in the hospital (again) but feeling much better; 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 not because of the 100 positive things that has happened. ⚠️ 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙘𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙉𝙀 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙚 99 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙩. ㊗️ This time, I’m referring to my colostrum harvesting! They’re all hand express 😜 I am not born strong but I choose to learn on how to be one. I know how tough pregnancy n motherhood journey can be but I choose to ride on it bcs that’s exactly what I wanted. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮. 👨‍👩‍👦 It’s definitely tough, and sometimes one might feels like giving up but I’m thankful n grateful to have a very supportive n understanding husband and fam. It makes the journey less lonely and more encouraging ❤️

Now I understand why we need to 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧’𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙪𝙢 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙞 𝙠𝙤𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧’𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 😂😂😂

𝙈𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 6𝘿5𝙉 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 💝 Yes, only Mummy is home because Baby have to stay in NICU for few more days 👶🏻

She’s down with 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙅𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙚. So she have to be on oxygen tube, antibiotic treatment and UV light. She was also on feeding tube, so direct latching is not possible yet [𝙈𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙮’𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙪𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮] 😮‍💨 But doc said above mentioned condition is common, told us not to worry so much while we leave our sweetheart to the expert ❤️ In the meantime, I’ll try my best to recuperate as much as I can as the csec was cut on my existing mid line scar. The pain and cramp have started to develop since last night 🥴 Yes, it’s a vertical cut↕️, not the usual horizontal cut 🥵

𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧 3𝙧𝙙 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙐, 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙. 😘 The doc have removed the oxygen tube because her breathing has finally stabilised. This morning she didn’t throw up on formula milk anymore. They’ll continue to monitor her closely, if everything is ok, tonight they’ll transfer her to normal ward. 💓

My csec was a successful surgery. 🙏🏻 Initial worries by the medical team was the 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙠 𝙊𝙛 𝘼𝙙𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣:

𝙄’𝙢 𝙨𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙝 𝘽𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙮𝙖𝙝 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙮 𝙊𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙣 2015, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙖 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙟𝙤𝙗! 🥰💪🏻 There were no complication found during my recent csec at HKL and they even complimented on my incision; it was perfectly done. It even healed beautifully. I’m just so grateful 💯🌈❤️ Thank you SBH Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah💋

In the meantime, I’ll continue to count all my little blessings and look forward to little sweetheart to be home for the first time 🧡 CAN’T WAIT! 🎈🎊🎉

🍓𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 24 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 2021 🍓

Yesterday was frantic! From induction to contraction to being sent to labour room with 4cm dilation to finally 5cm and that’s when my nightmare starts..

Doc broke the waterbag to induce labor.. Contraction came almost right away after that. I pre-requested for epidural but it didn’t came on time so I have to withstand the torturing pain from 9am all the way till almost 3pm (𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙩 🥴) In the meantime while waiting for the anaesthetic to arrive, I accepted the laughing gas and Pethidine jab. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘦, 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵, 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦! 🤬 Pethidine helps to calm me a little but because was too strong, I was just drowsy, can’t even fall asleep like how I did during the first time (first contraction before labour).

After many hours of waiting, dilation remains at 5cm and did not improve further, baby’s heartbeat seems slower (in distress), so doc said we can’t wait anymore and she suggested that we should proceed with emergency csec immediately. Signed some consentment form and straight we go into the Operating Theatre. Oh! Btw they called to inform my husband bout my condition too 💯

Did a swab test, result was negative. Given epidural, contraction is more bearable now. 😍 The medical team proceeded with the surgery while keeping me awake throughout the process. It didnt took long before I could hear her voice, it was swift! 𝙎𝙝𝙚’𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡, 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙄 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧 ❤️ 𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩. Nurse brought her so close to me that I only manage to notice her glittering eyes n long lashes, then brought her away while they stitch me up. I was trembling most of the time during surgery, probably bcs I was fasting since breakfast and the whole thing only ended in the late afternoon.. But I’m so glad everything turns out well and it’s over.. I’m currently recuperating and is still in the hospital for further observation..

𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙐 𝙙𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙤. Nurse assured me this is a common diagnosis and recovery rate is very high. Told me not to worry and baby will be back in my arms soon 🥰 Hubby and I visited her earlier at the ward and nurse told us, she throw up on formula milk and told me, if possible, please try to pump to provide breast milk.. So that’s another mission for me to accomplish.. Jiayou mama, it’s a never ending learning journey.. Embrace it because it’s going to be worth it 🌈😘
