After so many years, I finally decided to go on a holiday. My chosen destination is the ever so glorious Bali, Indonesia. The main reason why I chose to go to Bali is because I want to see the best punk rock band in Nusantara, Superman is Dead. They will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary on August 18 2015, which is also my birthday. Hell yeah!!!
Since I am not a frequent traveler (of course, the last time I ‘travelled’ was about, I don’t know, 5 years ago?) I decided to hire a driver (or they call it ‘Supir’ in Bahasa Indonesia) to take me around Bali. I chose to hire a supir from Meez Travel and Tours. The main reason why I chose to hire a supir is because I was on a very tight budget. By hiring a supir, I can pay in advance and not worry about being abandoned in a foreign land for being too broke to hire a taxi. Hahahahhahaa. The beautiful owner of the agency, Meeza, gave me an affordable price for a supir to take me around Bali for 3 Days 2 Nights. I made all the arrangements and payment before departing to Bali so that I can travel with ease when I arrive at the beautiful island.
Everything was as I expected when I arrived. The moment I stepped out of the plane I could feel the spiritual aura. I was pleased when I met the friendly supir, Lutfi. Nothing much happened on the first day as I was exhausted from travelling. I went straight to Rumah Kayu Bali, an awesome backpacker’s hostel in Kuta Square.
The people of Meez Travel and Tours were very thoughtful and went beyond expectations. I received a very pleasant surprised when Lutfi came with a birthday cake to the hostel. I was pleased beyond words. It is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
The rest of the trip was pleasant as Lutfi took me to enjoy delicious Indonesian cuisine, drove me around Bali and took me to the venue to see Superman is Dead. Oh, may I inform you that I was unable to make any calls while I was in Bali because I did not have an Indonesian number and the roaming was bloody expensive (On a tight budget, remember?). But Lutfi, being an efficient supir, managed to pick me up on a timely manner.
For that, I want to thank Meez Travel and Tours for giving me the best birthday gift.
