One pot dinner for the whole family. Winter it's the best season to have a pot of hot beef stew. It's simple and super delicious!
Ingredients
•Vegetable oil, for searing
•2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 2-inch cubes
•Sea salt to taste •6-8 whole pearl onions
•5 cloves whole garlic
•2 cups chicken or beef broth, homemade or low-sodium canned
•2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
•3 teaspoons of dried parsley
•3 teaspoons of dried rosemary •4 bay leaves
•1 pounds medium red potatoes, quartered to add in or mesh as side dish
•4 medium carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces
•2 celery stalks, cut into 2-inch
Dinner will be ready in an hour:
Use a iron cast pot such as Le Creuset.
Heat up the oil, add the garlic, pearl onion and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute, until lightly browned. Add the beef and cook stirring for 1 minute and add in the carrots, celery and cook until lightly toasted. Add the broth, and bring to a simmer. Add the parsley, rosemary and bay leaves together and sea salt to taste. Cover and low simmer the meat until just tender and voila your dinner is ready!

We love Kimchi Jjigae (also known as kimchi soup or stew in English). This soup is super easy to make and you just need to cook some rice to go with it and call it a day. So easy! A big shout-out to Lady Boss Choi of Hanwoori Korean restaurant in Singapore. This restaurant is in our neighbourhood and her kimchi jjigae is really really good. If you don't like seafood, you can also use shabu shabu pork belly or beef. You don't have to season the meat, just add them around the same time as we added the seafood.

Seafood Kimchi Jjigae 韩国海鲜泡菜汤 (Kimchi Soup / Stew)
Ingredients:
Serves 4 - 5 pax

1.5L water
6 tablespoons light soy sauce
4 cloves of chopped garlic
1 teaspoon grounded black pepper
6 tablespoons Korean chilli powder (gochugaru)
3 tablespoons gojuchang (Korean chilli paste)
450g kimchi
300g silken tofu
1 red onion - sliced
4 fresh shitake mushrooms - sliced
3 potatoes - sliced
50g sweet potato vermicelli (can be replaced with glass noodles)
2 stalks of spring onion (can be replaced with scallion)
1 teaspoon salt (season to taste)
200g prawns
200g baby octopus (can be replaced with squid)
300g venus clams
150g enoki mushrooms
Add some white vinegar at the end of the cooking if you like the soup to be more tangy.

【材料】
ごはん...1合
牛肉(切り落とし)...200g
たまねぎ...1/2個
にんにく(すりおろし)...小さじ1/2
赤ワイン...50cc
塩
ブラックペッパー
小麦粉...大さじ1
バター...10g
カットトマト缶...1缶
トマトケチャップ...大さじ1
ウスターソース...大さじ1
オイスターソース...小さじ1
バター...10g
【作り方】
1, たまねぎは1cmのくし切り。牛肉は塩・ブラックペッパーで下味をつけ、小麦粉をまぶす。
2, フライパンにバター10gを入れ加熱し、たまねぎを炒める。しんなりしてきたら牛肉を加えてさらに炒める。
3, にんにくのすりおろしを加えてさらに炒め、赤ワインを加えて煮込み、アルコール分をとばす。
4, トマトケチャップ、ウスターソース、オイスターソースを加えて弱火で20分煮込む。最後にバターを加える。
5, 器に炊けたごはんにソースをかける。

Tomato ketchup ... 1 tbsp
Worcester sauce ... 1 tbsp
Oyster sauce ... 1 tsp
Butter ... 10g
【Instructions】
1, The onion is 1cm comb. Beef is seasoned with salt and black pepper and sprinkled with flour.
2. Put 10g of butter in a frying pan, heat and fry the onion. When it becomes soft, add beef and fry further.
3. Add the grated garlic and fry, add red wine and stew to remove alcohol.
4. Add tomato ketchup, worcestershire sauce and oyster sauce and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat. Finally, add the butter.
5, Put the sauce on the cooked rice.
