I didnt manage to get my bookings in for El Cellar de Can Roca (its an 11-month waitlist, almost impossible, Ive been on it since February), but I did manage to wake at 5.45am approximately 2 months before to place reservations for Tickets by Albert Adria in Barcelona. Yasssssss, score! Food was yummy - based on some recommendations from people whove been before, we decided to pick what we wanted to eat, instead of letting them serve us, and we did enjoy most of it! We even got a photo in with Chef Albert Adria himself (I spotted him on our way out, decided to be thick-skinned and ask for a photo... What a bonus)!There are more hits than misses here - if you get a chance to taste the Autumn 2017 menu, opt for the Octopus (absolutely amazing), the Tuna Belly with Nori (great mix of textures), the Pork Taco (especially if you love suckling pig; dont expect a regular taco shell though - youd be disappointed), and the Nordic marinated beef (interesting blend of flavours and textures). The Wagyu was delicious too - just a touch of salt was enough to set my tastebuds to orgasmic mode. Dont forget to finish off with desserts - they shoo (yes, quite literally) you off to another room for this. We were conned into having a little surprise when entering the dessert room: they proffered it to us, and we had it without knowing that itll be on the bill. If I had known, Id decline to have it... I dont really like rose-flavoured stuff (mostly cos it reminds me of soap). The cheesecake was mindblowing though, Id really recommend it. All in all, an above average affair, I would recommend it if you dont have a budget to adhere to, else youd be sweating buckets over dinner...
