Heart breaking work
We and the team from Taiwan ( 舊鞋救命step30 ) started to treat the kids feet for jiggers today. This has to be the most heart breaking part of the Africa condition. Just to see how much these kids suffer as a result of the conditions mostly due to poverty is almost overwhelming at times. You cannot help but love them for in the midst of their pain they have been such troopers.

Yesterday one of the containers from Step 30 in Taiwan arrived in Kitale so we did an event in Khalwenge putting the shoes on the feet of over 5000 people. I could not believe how many showed up. it was quite the event to participate in and to see the joy of many who received their first pair of shoes. Frank and Simon who are with me are a bit overwhelmed by the level of poverty that they are witnessing and I agree that it is heart breaking at times. However, the fact that we were able to participate in bringing change to their situation was heart warming is to say the least. A hearty thank you to all of you who helped make this possible! "
