Taking Revenge Won’t Satisfy your Soul

“Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:22‬ ‭WEB‬‬

Notice how the second sentence in the verse above doesn’t really respond to the first.

In the first sentence, the person’s desire is to take revenge against the evildoer.
However, in the second sentence, the godly advice totally disregards vengeance, and instead focuses on the victim’s salvation from evil.

There is a lesson here! God’s priority is your safety. His heart is for you to be protected from evil and to be well.

Vengeance isn’t going to make you happy and satisfied. There is no fulfillment found in the destruction of a person.

In the future, Jesus has a Day of Vengeance. It is more popularly known as “the Second Coming of Christ”. He will slay the Antichrist and his wicked armies to save Israel from their hands. But Jesus takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. What God loves is to deal graciously with man.

If the person who is persecuting you suddenly dies, you may feel relief and a certain sense of victory that God has punished your enemy, but it will revert to emptiness shortly after.

Your life still has to go on. Your enemy might be gone, but you are still here. If your only purpose in life was to take revenge, then you have become an empty shell, just drifting aimlessly. That’s why a life spent pursuing vengeance is not worthwhile.

It is better to embrace the godly dreams and goals in your heart, and use your gifts to build up the body of Christ. That’s a life worth living.

I heard someone say that the best vengeance is for you to live your life so well and happily that it infuriates your enemies. I find that so true.

Take no thought of your persecutors, but fill your mind with God and Jesus. God’s priority is to save you from their evil schemes. Expect and confess His deliverance, and while you’re waiting for it, rejoice because you’re in Christ!

Nothing angers your haters more than seeing you happy while they are hopelessly miserable.

“Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans‬ ‭12:20-21‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

If you want to take it one step further, be so nice to those who are evil to you. Extend lavish grace to them for Jesus’ sake. It will either make them even angrier, or you may even melt their stony hearts and turn them into your friends.

Remember: God’s priority is your safety and wellbeing. He takes no pleasure in executing vengeance. Expect Him to save you from evil, so that you can focus on living undeterred for His glory!

ตั้งใจเขียนมา เพราะไม่รู้จะทำยังไงดีครับ คือผมไม่ใช่เจ้าของโรงแรมเองโดยตรง แต่เป็นลูกค้าที่ใช้บริการ เห็นแล้วก็เสียใจแทนเจ้าของครับ
คือคุณจอย (เจ้าของโรงแรมแมว) ได้รับผลกระทบ Covid-19 ทำให้ลูกค้า (ซึ่งน้อยอยู่แล้ว) ตอนนี้แทบจะไม่เหลือเลย เพราะคนไม่เดินทางกัน คุณจอยต้องดูแลแมวกว่า 20 ชีวิต ณ ตอนนี้ (บางตัวมีลูกค้าบางรายมาฝาก แล้วไม่มารับกลับ) ด้วยคุณจอยเป็นคนรักแมว ก็เลยเลี้ยงไว้ ไม่เอาไปปล่อยที่ไหนด้วย

ตอนนี้คุณจอยเริ่มหันมาทำแซนวิชขายไปพลางๆ ด้วย คุณจอยยังสู้เพื่อโรงแรมนี้อยู่ครับ ไม่ได้ต้องการรับบริจาคใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น แค่ต้องการให้จ่าช่วยประชาสัมพันธ์ ซักนิดก็ยังดีครับ ว่ามีโรงแรมเล็กๆ แห่งนึงย่านรามอินทรา ที่เจ้าของรักแมวจากใจจริง (ไปดูรีวิวหน้าเพจได้ครับ ลูกค้า 100% ประทับใจการบริการครับผม) พยายามต่อสู้เพื่อให้โรงแรมนี้อยู่รอดต่อไปครับ ข้อมูลตาม Link นี้เลยครับ

ช่วงนี้ลูกค้าฝากแมวหายไปกว่าปกติมากเพราะสถานการณ์โควิท-19
ทางโรงแรมเข้าใจและหวังว่าทุกอย่างจะคลี่คลาย​ เศรษฐกิจจะกลับมาดีขึ้นและปัญหาเชื้อโรคต่างๆจะหมดไปในเร็ววัน​ ถ้าทุกคนช่วยกันหยุดการแพร่กระจายเชื้อด้วยการป้องกันตัวเอง​ตามนโยบายต่างๆของรัฐนะคะ

อดใจกันอีกนิดนึง​ อีกแป๊ปเดียวก็จะได้ออกเที่ยวกันแล้ว​ จะเที่ยวให้กระจายกันแค่ไหนก็อย่าลืมติดต่อนัดวันเวลาพาน้องเหมียวทั้งหลายมาเที่ยวพักผ่อนให้จอยดูแลได้น๊าาา

In Jesus’ Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, why did Lazarus the beggar go to Paradise and the rich man go to Hell?

It’s not because a person who suffered in his lifetime is automatically granted a one-way ticket to Heaven.

Neither does being rich disqualify a person from Heaven.

Lazarus is enjoying the comforts of Heaven whereas the rich man is tormented day and night in unquenchable flames—it’s not because one person lived morally better than the other.

If we read the last sentence of the parable, we will know the answer. It lies in the word “believe”.

Lazarus went to Heaven because he believed in the God of Israel. In his poverty, he probably prayed and asked Yahweh to be merciful to him.

On the other hand, the rich man did not believe. He only lived to satisfy the cravings of his flesh and failed to receive salvation through faith.

Like the last line of the parable hints, someone has really been raised from the dead—and His name is Jesus.

Do you believe that He is the Son of God, the one who died and rose again so that you would know that all your sins are paid for?

Don’t wait until you’re dead and the angels are forcibly dragging your spirit by the arms to toss you into Hell before you scream that Jesus is Lord. By then it’ll be too late.

You would join all those who are screaming in there endlessly because they spent a whole lifetime rejecting the atoning sacrifice of the Son of God, who suffered and died to pay for their sins.

The wages of sin is death, and there can only be two options: either you accept Jesus’ payment on your behalf, or you keep paying the price yourself—you can never finish paying it in Hell because sinning against God is an infinitely grievous offence.

You can’t cease to exist because your spirit is eternal, since you were made from the breath of the eternal God.
The deceased spirit of an unforgiven sinner can never go to Heaven because sin cannot remain in the holy God’s presence.

Whether you a poor or rich, you can still be saved simply by placing your faith in Jesus as your Lord.

Jesus loves you so much that He suffered cruel torture and bled Himself dry so that His sinless blood would make atonement for all your sins.

Don’t delay your day of salvation because a sinner’s life is so fragile. Just one microscopic virus can kill. One infected wound can kill.
If you sense a loving force encouraging you to entrust your life to Jesus, just do so by faith.

If you’re already a believer, just take a moment to thank Jesus for saving you from an eternity in hellfire. We don’t deserve it, but we freely received this gift of salvation—it is God’s Grace and mercy towards us!
