Greens 🥬 is a priority & naughty carbs is occasionally 🥖. Easy peasy ✌🏼.
Many of u asked whether I track my calories or count my macros currently.
A: not at the moment as I can roughly gauge portion size of the general food I eat.
Yes it true to lose fats/weight you need to track what you eat, calorie intake & macro. However, if you have been practising healthy eating and your healthy eating habits somewhat has become part of your lifestyle, tracking calories/macros is not entirely necessary if you are on the maintenance side.
This advantage is not for everyone unfortunately. It really depends on your fitness/health goal tbh. And how well u know your food and the food you are eating daily.
For someone who just started their journey, I would suggest you to “tahan” and go with the timely & tedious process of counting calories/macros for at least 28days. Coz we’ll let’s be honest here, not everyone can be discipline enough & have that will power to control their “nafsu” makan aight.
After 28days, ask yourself if you can eat almost the same food and sort of gauge the portion. If you can’t, keep counting them calories/macro & track it using app.
Transitioning from counting calories/macro, you can pay attention to the portion size. Meaning for the first 28days, after u measure your food, jot down the serving size using hand portion serving size.
How 200g of cooked chicken look in hand portion size and etc. I know it’s timely & timeous, but once u get a hang of it, you can pretty much know how much you should be eating in each meal.
But again, this method only work if you are maintaining your weight. To build lean muscle/load mass/shred/lose weight, unfortunately you have to put in more effort and count them cal/macros the least once in every 2-3 weeks.
Hope this help. It’s just my way of simplifying things. It might not be for everyone.
P/s: I know u guys are obsess over protein but please prioritise 🥬 and have them in every main meal. 🥕 doesn’t count lol 😂

LONG POST / LETS TALK 🎈🤧 First time front squatting (ever) at Warrior Academy today! 🎉 Eventually got the courage to go up to 11.5kg (nothingness), experienced a mix of fear and pride. Rest of the hour has been a blur of rowing, lunging, snatches and burpees. 😩🤦🏻♀️ thanks @stephaniessy for having me!
Been meaning to work more weights into my routine! But confession, actually going to these gyms/boxes/thingy intimidates the F outta me and I find myself shriveling up into a ball of insecurity and inferiority among other experienced lifters/people who look like they run 10k for breakfast. But hey 👋🏻 everyone starts somewhere. Showing up is 90% of the work. Ok I lied it’s about 1% but still, it’s that 1% that counts. Get a friend, make friends there, ask questions, don’t be afraid to suck because that means you’ll get better. I get unnecessarily competitive/self conscious but if I can stomach being the terrible noob at the back when I started spinning, bouncing, and now CrossFit/lifting - then I’m pretty sure you can too. I was a sack of potatoes. Now I’m a potato. 🥔 it’s all a journey and you can do it too 💪🏻💡
Aaaaaanyway, I’ll blog about my 2018 goals later. Now let’s CHAT 💭 What’s your fitness goals for next year? Wanna grab coffee? Be my gym Instagram friend? Eat hot pot together? Down for all of the above. Happy New Year everyone, sending love and light ✨🙏🏻💕

This picture was taken exactly a year ago. At that time, I'd say I was at a rather comfortable stage in my life. I've worked hard to turn my passion into a career and was able to travel to almost anywhere I wanted, whenever I wanted and just work from there. I wasn't accountable to anybody except myself.
.
I could have just continued down that path and be contented. But the journey of doing the same thing for years started to feel like a "routine". I felt stuck, uninspired and deep down, I wasn't happy. My biggest fear in life is when I stop learning and growing, and I knew that was happening.
.
It's interesting how life is, when you have no achievements, you're bold and brave to try whatever it is your heart desires, because you have NOTHING to lose.
.
When you have some "success" in life, you're somewhat more resistant to change, you're more fearful because you're afraid to lose the things you've worked so hard for.
.
I had to remind myself not to be afraid to fall, to try new things, to set new goals, to believe big, and embrace the uncertainty in order to reinvent myself again.
.
Instead of asking "what can I do for others", I started asking myself "what can I do WITH others". Hence, I started @hernetwork.tv because I truly believe that when we connect with like-minded people, together we can SIGNIFICANTLY reach so many more people and inspire them in a positive manner. We are STRONGER together.
.
Starting HER Network has taught me the law of trade-offs:
✨ to trade security for significance
✨ to trade instant gratification for personal growth
✨ to trade the "fast" life for a meaningful life
.
Change has never been easy. Most of you have been very supportive and love the new content. 😊 But of course, there'll also be resistant. The truth it, I do not know where this journey is going to take us, but one thing I know is, I'm fully committed to giving my very best in everything I've set out for.
.
The only security we have is our individual commitment to personal growth. So this year, I've made that my focus. 😘

Exactly as of today as i upload this vlog. I have 25 days left. OMG!!!!!!
I finally registered myself for the competition Battle of the Freaks 2 happening 6th May at PJ Live Arts Theatre.
In this vlog, I explain a bit more on the competition i'm taking part in. I'm still very new to the bodybuilding industry and jargons, but from my understanding, there a number of different federations out there. Each has it's own categories and own set of rules.
For Battle of the Freaks, it is under NABBA-WFF. NABBA stands for National Amateur Body-Builder's Association and WFF is World Fitness Federation.
"NABBA and WFF are separate organisations but are affiliated. This provides additional benefits for members and competitors. Each Federation seeks a different 'look'. NABBA tends to cater for the more muscular physique and WFF favours a more athletic look. Both Federations attract a high level of male and female competitors at state, national and international level." - taken from nabba.com.au
I'll break it down simply there 3 categories for male and female. Tall And Short where you can join to try for your pro card and then there is the Novice Open category for those who have never competed before.
The judging involves the following
Round 1 - T Walk - whereby you have to hit 5 points on stage
Round 2 - Quarter Turns -
Round 3 - Quarter Turns - for muscularity
Hope this gives you a bit of insight on the comp that I'm taking part. So you see it's not all about looking ripped or lean on stage. Posing is a big criteria and how you look for your presentation including stage presence.
25 days.. 25 days..
To add on to more complications. I didn't rest well this week, as you can tell in the vlog, while i may look fine at some points in the video, I was really trying to keep it together for the camera. Fighting off either a headache, a sorethroat and the beginnings of a flu.
I've learnt another lesson, when i'm at the beginning stage of getting sick, meaning with a sorethroat. Dont' be a smart ass and train. I did my usual training and then cardio on sat.. that just killed me on Sunday. Body completely said fudge it all. Even now i'm still recovering, but loads of water is helping out. I gotta say after 3 litres of water, my skin does feel better, but i also feel terribly weak.
That's the update for week 14! Good night everyone and thank you again for following my journey!
Thanks again everyone for watching my vlogs, I'm learning everyday and do tell me what else you want me to share in my videos! Appreciate every comment and view :)
