As a dietitian, I often get asked whether a food item is good or bad 💁🏻♀️. Food items including bread & butter are often demonised 👹 when it is completely fine to enjoy these foods👌🏾. Just remember to keep your saturated fat intake (butter is high in this kind of fat !) to 20g per day for average women and 30g per day for average men, in other words limit saturated fat to < 11% of total energy intake ♥️. Miso is a fermented soybean product thus it has probiotics. However these probiotics are easily destroyed by heat 🔥 (when hot water is added), & the soup is high in sodium🔝. Probiotics have to be alive to ensure health benefits, therefore better alternatives include both dairy / non- dairy yoghurt, as well as kefir.
